8:29 - Based on the numbers in the US, there is a very good chance that the "normal person" is overweight or obese, so you don't want to eat like a normal person. Josh is eating like a healthy person. That's how we eat. We don't mindlessly destroy vast amounts of calories because we are mindful of how damaging it is to do so. And when we decide that we would like to indulge ourselves, we know that we will double down on the healthy eating and exercise to counteract it. It's really that simple.
I think the humanity in this interview is the important part. I think its easy for anyone to say those things at face value, but hearing it from a actor (from some of our childhoods) who struggled with it in the past, is probably alot more inspiring, for someone trying to thrn their life around.
Calorie counting/Exercise unfortunately is not sustainable for a lot of people. We often see the extreme of this in The Biggest Losers. They end up gaining all the weight back and then some. Satiety is something I recently learned that seems to be the key element of healthy eating, curb cravings, curing insomnia.
Athletes or former athletes who only learned how to perform but to never have to manage weight... haha when they become ex athletes and the activity shows down, their appetite usually doesn't and so they binge eat everyday like they will always be the superior physical being they are. Thus why most ex athletes are often fat lol
5:50 - what you are referring to is called being mindful of what you are eating. Most overweight people are mindless about what they put in their bodies, so they get out what they put in. It's laziness.

Love Josh. Big part of my daughter’s childhood. Peace and love.
He stopped eating a lot and hired a personal trainer. Saved you ten minutes.
