Man, Escaflowne was and is still one of my favorite animes and it's so rare to see any other fans or hear of it. It doesn't continually get new fan-made media like say Sailormoon, DBZ, even Evangelion. So when something, anything, comes up, it's a treat. This is such a lovely rendition of the opening theme and is a great way to introduce people to a neat, lesser-known series.
My first exposure to Maaya Sakamoto and Yoko Kanno. I couldn't believe how beautiful the song and the intro were when I first watched it back in '97. The show is quality 90s Sunrise too! I'd still recommend it today! Such a great rendition here! May raspy jazz never die!!

Just the title "the Vision of Escaflowne" is one of the most evocative compositions I ever heard/read. And all of the OST is the same, even this cover does justice.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. That's just mine I guess. Escaflowne is my favourite anime and if I died and went into one it would have to be this one!

2010年代後半から現在に至るまでめちゃめちゃ流行ってる「異世界転生系」（エスカフローネは転生ではなく異世界転移だけど）を約20年も先取りしてアニメ作品として高いレベルで昇華してたことを考えると本当に凄いよね。まさに傑作。
