Judging by the pre-flash RPMs, the boat was over propped from the dealer. Probably why it didn't need a new prop afterwards. Did the flash change the rev limiter on the boat. I've seen several of these pop after flashing when the motor was turning over 6,700 RPM. Factory limiter is set to 6,250 if I'm not mistaken. Side note, a 4 Blade prop would make that boat more stable at the higher speeds.
My Keywest Bayreef with yamaha f150 has Nizpro 191 tune. Running 14.25x19 3 blade turning point pro with t-top loaded for fishing I run right at 50mph! Got some prop slip also
I just tuned my 1720 key west ? I took off the 1996 88hp evinrude spl and installed a 115 johnson 2 stroke that ran on all cylinders ..i can fell the difference real well ..
Can I tune my 2001 xr6 mercury 150 for the same results so to say and what's my cost and if the prop comes out of the water at 6000 rpm will it nuke the top end
absolutely not. powerhead needs to come apart and some exert porting and exhaust chest flow done to get 275+ hp. mind you it would need a new set of rings after about 50 hrs of run time.
You guys know way more about boats than I do but I have the exact same set up bone stock right now and it does 53gps loaded with a 20p saltwater hp im flashing mine tomorrow I'll update with top speed after flash. Maybe he needs to try some props I don't see how a 21ft boat with a true 332hp shouldn't be in the 60s I know these aren't fast hulls but still.
Hey Samuel! Thanks for reaching out. I have spoken with multiple owners on this 214 Tournament that have flashed theirs as well and we have come to the conclusion that this hull has its speed limitations. Different props running on different weight set ups, the boat climbs to speed and almost feels as it nose dives and starts to bury speed. This boat is not built on a padded hull like a bass boat as well. Report back with what you get!
@@BoatsEtc sorry for the late reply ran into some timing issues before tune was installed but we figured it out and got the flash done. My boat is set up very heavy loaded with tackle 12 rods 7 batteries 2 chargers etc. with all that 1 man and half tank im getting 60-61mph gps with a 20p saltwater hp prop. Im thrilled with the results feels like a completely different boat!
@@samuelpierce-hp2ge Dude that's awesome! I am flashing another one for a customer today and going to test it. 60-61 mph for this boat is great speed for that kind of weight! The motor just sounds meannn!!
@@BoatsEtc I know hell be happy! It does sound so much better now sounds way happier used to sound weak and restricted. Definitely give that prop a try one one I think it's definitely the perfect combo I might try a powertech 21 or 22 if I ever raise the rev limit.
7mph gain for 130 hp? something isn't right! You could gain atleast 5 with experimenting with props and setback to get that on a STOCK motor. i do that all the time for customers on all sorts of boats.
We wanted to do a test with the exact same prop, same testing conditions with no other modifications going from stock to tuned. Obviously the boat would need to be re-propped..
@@Dylangwin yeah i guess if you arent changing the prop, the most useful metric would be holeshot and midrange acceleration. that looks like the biggest gain with this setup.
@@ZoneTelevision something doesn't add up. I'm getting 55mph on my heavy fishing 21ft boat, it's 1800kg/4000lbs, with a mercury 200hp. 330hp on a hull like that should be 65-70mph
Most of us purchase a Yamaha for the reliability aspects, this level of tune just negates that. I could see a 25 or so HP gain but of 100 is just asking for a blowup
With the proper prop installed after the flash the motor will work less for the same speed your used to going. So it's actually making the motor more reliable.
200 V6 SHO is the same engine with 225-250-300, and since all these 4 models can be chip tuned to 332HP means they share the same cams and injectors too. They probably get the lower powered engines by restricting the fuel mapping and rev limiter. Sounds like cheating, but that's the way it is.
They just came out with a tin for the f200. 34hp gain. So pretty good on 90 octane. Worth a few on the top end for sure and cruising mpg should be better as you need less throttle to do it.
@@spikeafrica gotta keep in mind a stock F200 i4 only makes like 180hp at 6000 on a dyno, it's got a "safe" tune from factory ... so tuning it brings it up to say, 210HP. There are dyno graphs to prove this

He said 7 mph gain. He can turn more prop, guaranteed. I just got my cpu back for 200sho on similar boat. Pre flash I could turn swsii 21p 5300 @ 53 ( I propped down to a PowerTech Sfs4 17p and could run 53 @ 6100 rpm anyday) after flash I am turning the swsii 21p 6200 rpm @ 64 mph and I could still turn more prop
That engine will burn out (blow through rings and seals) long before its original life-expectancy because of this mod. No one is going to drive it slow - it'll always be working to satisfy someone's need to start faster and go faster than it was supposed to out -of-the-box.. So how much is it all worth in the end if you're replacing the motor 5 years sooner than you would have? Nice while it goes fast though.
I call B.S. why not show the gains? My 12ft tinny and 9.9 merc. And 3gals. Of fuel will run 17mph. on 87 pump gas. When I refill it with 90 marine fuel I can get it to 38mph. Trust me...
@@BoatsEtc You're selling it obviously being able to make money selling it would be a good reason. Not saying you are but why don't you reupload with that part, that's the most important part

We will try to get that goin for ya!
Did you have to drain old fuel and put 91 in it? Or did you run it with the previous fuel in it?
This customer runs nothing but 93 octane in his boat. You do have minimum 91 OCT rating with these tunes.
Why not show the numbers for before and after. You didn't even post the details and results of the of the tune. This was not entirely informative.
Totally forgot to film the "after" part of the video! There is plenty of information online for before and after results, just google it
