This was super hype to watch live. I'm really glad the community stepped up to make such an awesome event at EVO. I hope this continues with future events.
EVO has to pick the games with the greatest viewership to be on the main stage. Even though it lost viewership because it doesn't have every character everyone was expecting, Marvel still produced the hype. Before I caught this, I was feeling hollow watching every other game, craving that chaotic gameplay that Marvel brings. Thanks, Angelic, for making this showing possible. I may not have been keeping up with Marvel in the last few months, but I can definitely tell the top play is looking a lot cleaner and more refined. There is definitely love for the game.

It is more like Marvel (and a number of other tag based fighting games) are about overwhelming offense but this game has more ways to reduce infinites than prior games since I believe there are no unblockable setups, you can tag in your partner for two meters when you are combo'd and control him to save the fight (like a more dynamic Burst from BlazBlue?) and push blocks return as a mechanic to get some space when you block. There are a number of limitations to how many times you can hit I could detail but you are better off watching videos from Desk who has great combo videos and breaks down the combo systems of games that he plays.
OKay thank you for reply :p I was wondering. Cause they look like they were popping off one sided! I don't play fighting games but that never looks fun, opponent just does nothing while you button mash. I know in Mario smash Bro. the combos are very hard mechanics and takes skill and you can end it by messing up (of course not the ice climber one lol)

Nah, it was the players. The roster isn't really as important to players as people say because gameplay matter most to them. Look at MvC2's most popular characters and how little they were played in MvC3. The only one who was really played a lot was Magneto. Doom only became popular in UMvC3. Sentinel wasn't the most popular character in MvC2 because everyone was a huge fan of him. Roster doesn't matter in Marvel style games because you can't play whoever you want because you need to pick characters who fill certain roles. The most popular characters in DBFZ aren't the most popular characters in the series. It's the characters who are best at certain roles.
Trying to be fancy is what kills you in these matches, because your mind kind of keeps you busy with that and you forget everything else. I'd say they should go for short, but painful combos instead.

The team isn't that scary against armor characters. I play against Macho occasionally and Haggar negates a lot of their setups. They key is to never let Dorm breathe

I blame the FGCs lack of understanding of how licensing works and their unadulterated saltiness from what they wanted but didn't get for this games lack of support. They had a few characters missing from the roster so people immediately shut it off. Instead of supporting this game and giving it time, they whined and cried for xmex and F4 characters. I'm sure if they showed Capcom they support it then Capcom in return would continue to update and support the game. Could have lead support all the way to the fox marvel deal being sealed. Then we would have had a greater chance at xmen and f4 characters returning! But nope.
