Hello everyone, the modern day "Music Man" here. I'm actually a tuba player as you may well know so let me explain......the excitement of 2 huge sections getting a chance to pounce on one another was too great. I know they all wish they could have that back
No worries. Everyone wants to criticize but what was most obvious was both bands were just having fun. No stakes quick little jabs. It wasn't kill mode just group of musicians having fun.
Both groups need some sectionals. Once they do that they will be fine. Obvious tempo issues. That's one of the downfalls of being split on the side of the band.
That isn’t gonna do anything. Since they are split it’s gonna naturally drag unless they are right on top of the beat and both sides have to contribute equally
The only thing I don't like is they both had tempo issues. Other than that. Pretty decent job. Dega has like 10 part fanfares. Sometimes the Harmony gets so distorted you lose focus on what's being played. Jsu got lost in the sauce playing degas game. Stick to your own guns. But thumbs up guys.
Name at 1:26, dega as a whole might need sum wrk but them gotdamn tubas sending tht shit! Great sectional battle right here💯 great vid my brother keep doing ya thang n exposing the world to the culture!!!!!
Being split up on the side of the band isn't the problem, it's the fact that they're not listening to one another. Both sections need to work on playing together.
All of this shit sounds bad. No tone just a bunch of splat. I graduated high school in 2011 and did my last show in 2016 so maybe I’m from a different era of tuba playing where cleanliness and concept mattered.
Both sides TEMPO ISSUES! Wish they could come together as a unit as opposed to the sides maybe the tempo wouldnt be such a problem. Other than that both sections were decent but Dawg Team was way crisp & cleaner than Dega. Please tell me Dega arent marching Conns & sounding like this???
I feel jackson state couldve been louder and in sync..i also feel that dega couldve brought that low tone out, or have more on that note. Its a beautiful thing to play octaves up, and ring the stadium..i mean i was at MBC with the same killer instinct to destroy the opps, jackson state know bout it lolol..but nah, really what im saying is, being in sync with that low bottom is the thing..when playing up in ttombone notes became the new thing? Sounds good in SOME spots, but that shouldnt be main part of a fanfare..im just saying..they iiight, just practice being as one person, thinking on one accord, and it all will fall in place..the sound from both sections should be louder than what they were, and in sync. One band one sound
It seems it’s a difference lining up on level ground and posting in the stands. When the real experience comes this program is going to run the band world. But until then….
Y'all have to understand, when you're outside, the sound is gonna bounce off everywhere. I'm in marching band and I see no reason why people saying that it sounds bad. Understand that if you outside, with air, with no walls, OBVIOUSLY IT'S GONNA SOUND LIKE THAT. 🤦🏻♀️
You can hear parts where their sound is separate and other parts where it’s together that’s how we know it’s then not the venue. If they were together we’d hear 2 sets of the same thing
@@jonwilliams5171 apparently it does you the only one complaining and ain’t nobody been worried about y’all since the beginning of time. So be quiet or just keep complaining about because you not gonna do nun about it 🤣🤣
They both was sloppy all the way through the whole battle. And dawg team could’ve kept that last fanfare at the end after they messed up then it was call out at that, so yep it was a draw. Nobody won
You gotta hit that first note C a little harder talladega in your 1st song. Everybody has to come in. If you gon play Horsepower song. Play it right. Carry on.

Strength truth honor that's what I see that's what I feel keep your art alive.
That's what I'm talking about. You guys can beat anybody. Keep it up.
So we not gonna talk about talladega playing GO GO POWER RANGERS
it was fire
the second one was hard asf
NAN ONE OF EM DESERVE A W. These are my favorite tuba sections but I was so disappointed on both ends 😭😭😭
Fax😂 they was tryna do too much Nd wasn’t listening within they sections to stay together
Battle would’ve been 10x better if they were on tempo
And listened to each other play.

I agree! Got to the point they sounded horrible
Too much
That’s like the whole point to BLAST
The point is not to BLAST, whatever that means.

the tuba is to big to be right by the band that’s why they in the side
Lmao

Talladega problem is musicality. Trying to be too loud. Both need to work on the tempo though and clean up some notes.
If that’s the case DT got the same problems huh 🤔
I love when sections battle
Now that's a tuba battle.
Shit got raggedy towards the end. DOUBLE DEDUCTION!!!!!

thank you STOP TRYING TO OUTPLAY THE OTHER!!!!!!!

Ima jsu dawg team supporter but those gold 20ks are clean af
26 secs in dawg team
No winner. Both sections had major tempo issues. Both have a lot of potential though.
Most of these was call outs... ive seen actual tuba solos from the dawg team from previous years when the was on the yard...
Hey could someone give me a lists of the fanfares, I am in highschool amd I want to learn these and teach them to my section.
Like how jackson sounded but dega was all over the place for me. Jackson had rough 3rd or fourth fanfare they played.
