Pokémon Blaze Black 2 Redux is an advanced difficulty rom hack of Pokémon Black 2 created by Drayano - / drayano60 and AphexCubed - / aphexcubed
Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the first Pokémon I find on each Route.
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode

Some Roxie tips from someone who's been nuzlocking this game for a while. First, you NEED to keep leech seed on Ivysaur. With leech seed you can 1v1 the koffing with Ivysaur, especially if you have thick fat. Second, lead dewott or a mon that is weak to electric to bait in the koffing after the trubbish goes down. You usually get two free turns against trubbish anyways as it usually just uses toxic spikes twice. Then, you bait koffing tbolt, which is the perfect entrypoint for ivysaur to remove toxic spikes and 1v1 koffing. In your fight, you had to switch ivysaur into whirlipede to absorb tspikes, which led to Ivysaur taking way more damage than it needed to take. Third, I wouldn't have gotten the Audino encounter in the outer Virbank complex. You could potentially get some really good encounters like spearow, which evolves into fearow at lvl 20 which is amazing for both Roxie and Burgh afterwards. Just some tips. The early game of BB2R is really challenging, but it's also very deep and rewarding.

Seems like this romhack's difficulty compared to Ren Plat really comes from the fact that you have at most 9 encounters for the first two gyms, and against two types that have very select weaknesses, outside of select dual types, that can easily be covered. Normal and Poison versus Rock and Grass for Plat (not to mention having a guarantee of around 4-5 starter pokemon so quality encounters too) just has a very different difficulty curve for this. I had to put this hack on pause as well because it can be very frustrating nuzlocking it
There’s room for something like the gift Eevee Renegade had in the first town that could be added to Aspertia maybe. It’s not like a Basculin is very useful anyways, that’s usually what you end up getting from the water in Aspertia

In case flygon sees this, my fav lines are bulbasuar, electivire, and Infernape. I also know Dray loves his starters as gift mon so feel free to name any of them Finance as I was a financial planning major and would love any of them to share my major lol
As someone who played it not in a nuzlocke but with a 1st encounter per route kinda thingy, on challenge mode, Just wait until you reach Elesa, if you haven't already :) And i imagine Skyla can also pose huge problems based on encounter rng, for similar reasons, although not....to the same degree.
That Roxie fight was some really bad RNG, and that Growlithe was useless.
I dont know if you like doing this but, since rng on nature and such can screw you over in this rom hack, and i found it very smoothly when i tryed it my self. Make it so you can choose your encounters. Even if its a nuzlocke. It will actually make it more fun and enjoyable. It will still be really hard anyway but at least you get to choose and help you out. It would be a shame to drop this
In EK they added a level to the caps of Roxanne and brawly because it was unwinnable without specific encounters, perhaps they could consider something like this for here if it’s too restrictive on encounters? I guess it’s not as restrictive as EK but it’s a possibility I guess
