Awesome video! Wish more people would be helpful like you and post info videos instead of hating (no purple, patches, air, fcs no bueno: TROLLS ruin the web! Make your own vids instead of ragging on others!) . Keep rocking brudda. Learned a lot!
I used to work at fiberglass Hawai’i in 1968 for Mr C. But all we did was pump resin into cans of different sizes! Mr C was a good boss and he has a son my friend Tim. Amazing post and my I suggest my son’s Utube channel: George of Japan.
Good and simple tutorial. But I think you left out a vey important aspect of the install - For it to be a strong plug install it is crucial that the foam is completely removed all the way to the deck glass. This is so that when you pour in the resin it will bond to the deck and the bottom glass and not just the bottom glass and the foam inside the board. If your drill tool is set to the perfect drill depth for the specific baord you are working on you will be ok but this differs from baord to baoard and it's very easy to drill through the deck. Instead use a manual cutter or scrape away the last of the foam. so that the resin will bond to the deck. It's not necessary to remove all the foam in the hole. Just enough for the plug to go in deep enough and the around the perimeter of the hole so the resin reaches the deck glass. If this is done right you will get a strong plug that can take some heavy hits before cracking along the edge or ripping out completely.
@@caspartatham2831 The ammount you use is dependent on the size of the cavity.. I don't know what to say to you more than that. Try google. Does polyurethane create heat?? Is your surfboard hot bruh?
Great vid, thanks for taking your time to do this. Question though, how about adding futures boxes to a tri futures setup? Is there a kit for futures? Either way thanks for the info!
is it possible to remove glass fins from my old funboard and install plugs on it ? i have a 7.6 Gordon and smith funboard thuster that still in great shape except for pressure dings on top and 3 small dings on the bottom
I have a question I've just had a custom board made and I feel the colour design is pretty bad, can aboard be stripped back and Changed in any way, or am I stuck with it
Adding purple is a bad idea. Lots of time the resin will soak to the deck and then you'll have little purple spots showing through on the deck. Stick to white.
I feel like he did a good job for what he wanted to do. But at the rate of how long it took and how much he had to pay the guy why not just get a new fucking surfboard
Cheers for this, I have been researching "surfing instructions" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Feyvid Surfers Semitist - (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my buddy got cool success with it.
You will not have a Bonzer so lite that peace. Of shitt on fire! Get an Ace, Eaton, or Cambell brothers BONZER!!! The thruster fin system is a flawed design! Don't by any shit thrusters! Speed does not kill! BONZERs Fly like rocket ships! Loose that crap thruster. Punk Dweebs!

I made a few rebuilds from snowboards, its such a blast and recycling is the key.
Would this work ok on the newer design wide sailboards that I have that is a quad? I want to convert it to a thruster?
Best video on TH-cam ! , I really like the Bottle trick for the Fin plugs ! mess free ! .
# A++++ ON THIS TUTORIAL
Hello!!! How do I make markings for fins? I don't have a special ruler. How can I calculate with a regular ruler? @2gTY
I have a glassed on tri fin that I really like and want to change it to a fin box set up for travel. Who can do it, and how much?
why add the surfacing agent to the resin?
Hello! please tell me how thick the fiberglass texture is?thank you
Very nicely done.

jonnebanan not on the stringer. only on the side fins
Greg Webster yes. that is true.

Will you not get problems with heat if you use to much epoxy resin?? Does polyurethane create heat??

Nice video! Where can I buy this ruler to make the symmetrical markings on surfboard? Do You have a contact? Thanks.
Great video with all the instructions at a good pace, could have a better title though "fitting extra fcs fin plugs in an old board"
What is it you added to the resin around the plug? I'll be replacing an FCS plug on my board that broke out. I really want to make sure I do it right.

THANKS FOR THE QUICK REPLY!, you put a smile on my face, and Thanks for that info
@@junito1957 yeah take a dremel and cut the old finbox's out lol
What kind of ruler are you using? Where to buy that type of ruler?
its a ruler for doing layout for finboxs. FCS, and Futures sell them as well several other brands
When you lined that up, just before you taped it( pin plug ) you could have set a plum bob .
Hello , is it possible to remove the old fcs fin plugs and install the new fcs 2 fin plug on the board? Thanks.
a trick: you can watch movies at flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching a lot of movies recently.
@Mauricio Finnley yea, have been watching on flixzone for years myself =)
Nice!
very soothing
Awesome tutorial bra
Very well man!
No fiberglass football patches?

Nico1977 just re paint it and add a clear coat finish to the top
No H-pattern?
這藍色液體有哪3種物質呀 ??
cool
What would you estimate the time and the cost if you were to charge a customer? I'd estimate 2 hours of work.

maybe he wanted that
“Add fin to new surfboard”
CAN U TEACH ME EVERYTHING YOU KNOW? I want to make surfboards!!!
The more boards that you make....the more questions you will ask
You never stop learning....Good luck
Smells like ! fiberglass and resin in my lungs
You sound like Chris Malloy
36 people dont like modifying antiquated boards
"Nice"
The Fins are WAAAY too far back on this board.
