This guy is a genius!!! His formula is second to none. I struggled with keeping hanging baskets alive throughout the summer for years (south side, but under an overhang). This year I decided to try again - only I wanted to make my own (pretty ambitious for someone who hadn't been able to keep even the already matured store-bought ones alive). Spent a small fortune on the soil, baskets and slips. lol! Figuring I must have been doing something else wrong when it came to care, I found this video and put down another fortune buying everything on his list. We are now into mid-August in the northeast and are going through the hottest, driest summer in decades! My baskets, however, look incredible!! I don't even have to water them every day - even in 90+ degree weather. I attribute that to the e-z-wet and the gorgeous, thick blooms to the fertilizers - which I don't need to give anywhere near as often as suggested in the video. I don't have a seed store so mine do not have to look as perfect as his, but I am very impressed with how mine are doing - thick, lush continuous blooms with minimal deadheading.
My favorite video. My hanging basket is HUGE . All credit to this video. I do exactly what he says to do. I make sure to water every morning and every evening. I absolutely love doing it. I'm trying to see how big it will get.
Thank you so much for updating your "secret recipe" for 2022. I saw the "secret recipe" in your video from 2016 - and have been using it ever since. makes a world of difference in how my baskets look - and the Supertunia Vista series doesn't hurt either because they are such vigorous growers! Thank you again!
I agree with @Ashley N down below! Thank you for updating the info, as the Aquaduct L&G isn't easily found. I loved how my petuntias looked two years ago, using the rest of the information in your older video, compared to just PW petunia feed by itself last year. Thanks again! I have all but the 2 in 1 on order here now again.
For the Blooming plant food, It says to use a tsp in a gallon of water. Do you put the whole gallon of mixture in the one container of flowers or spread it out in several containers?
Great video and info! I do have concerns about Fetilome 2 in 1. It contains imidicloprid which is highly toxic to bees and other pollinators like butterflies. It’s an indiscriminate insecticide. Not quite as toxic to hummingbirds, but the jury is still out on that. If you have bug issues there are some good videos on mixing Dr Bonners pure Castile peppermint soap with water. (I tend to avoid dish liquid as it tends to strip natural plant waxes leaving the plants open to pathogens.) There are other safer products out there besides imidicloprid systemics that are less toxic to critters. 👍🌱🐾🕊🐝🦎🐢🦋
I was a little confused by the instructions for the ez wet. Closest thing I found states 1 oz per 5 gallons for a certain square footage. Would this be the same rate you apply to baskets?
So no more compost tea, huh? I still think that is one of the best fertilizers. Also, it would be great if you did a video of exactly how you planted those baskets. How many plants did you use?
I purchased some of thr fertilome systemic and before using it I read the label and it says not to use in containers. Why would that be? Assuming it won't harm them if you use it biweekly
how do you dilute Seedlingers Universal Plant Food? Instruction says it should not be diluted. 🙄 in this case it will cost thousands of dollars for one season.
You don't need all those fancy chemicals to keep soil moist. The thing that makes soil water resistant is peat. Once peat dries out, its very difficult to rewet. Save your money. Either don't use soil with a lot of peat, or just don't let it dry out in the first place.

I just bought seedlingers, and the instructions say 1 capful per gallon of water. Just used it now!
@@matty73102 I just watched a video from Seedlingers and the founder says they offer both concentrate and ready to use.
Wow, things like hummingbird moths, butterflies and bees love petunias, aren’t you killing them too if you use a systemic insecticide? 😳
