- This is short manual how to completely turn ESP off on Mercedes (in video: 2007 Merc B200CDI). This will turn off also ABS and all electronic guards. I strongly do not recommend this on public road, but there are some occasions, where it could be helpful. Do this at your own risk. And drive responsibly and carefully. There are other people on the road also.

DON'T waste your time doing this method, there is very annoying constant beeping that makes driving no fun. NO FUN AT ALL :/
It makes the same sound as beeping when you leave your headlights on and open the door. It is very annoying sound of the van beeping all the time while the engine is on.
Thank you for the video, I have watched a few similar ESP OFF instructions, but this video is the one that worked for my van 2010 Sprinter
Navigating those menus is super tricky, took me a few years to achieve it, thanks to this video I finally mastered the menus. Thank you very much who made it and posted it :)
You can take out FUSE 18 from the fuse box and that will disable the ESP and enable drifting :)
if you take out Fuse 22 for the ABS it will also do the trick but my speedometer also stops working if I disable abs.
If I drive a few days or weeks without the fuse fitted in, I start to get engine warning light, and error codes on OBD.
All the systems need to be functional so the computer can trigger cleaning for Diesel Exhausts Particulate Filter / DPF
The dpf filter will get clogged very fast without the computers working properly. That is my experience, please let me know what you think about what I said.

This works good for when your wheel speed sensors go out. 2010 ml had that problem and showed ABS inop on panel for a little while then ESP locked up rear brakes and chattered. Put it in dyno mode and saved a tow truck bill. Installed new front sensors that MB scanner said were bad and all was good. Ml's are known for wheel speed sensor going out.

@ATGT5 some cars are not eqiupped with ESP switch. And in some, when you press this switch, it does not turn it off completely.

@egyptionguy have you ever tried to find it somewhere in B-class and A-class Merc?
first: A and B classes are fitted with ESP, that cannot be turned off only by button. This is specially for technical checks of cars.
second: if you turn off ESP by button, on most Mercs, it is not turned off completely, only starts activity later. So this is still the only way to turn off.

ya my bad, noticed that later. Does the ml not disable this way? if not you can full detach the ESP module in the engine compartment, kinda risky though
Looked so promising. Unfortunately, this is not a feature on our 2006 B200 gas 2.0 (manufactured in 2005). Oh well.....
@ShadE45Oasis yes and no. sometimes ESP interferes when you do not actually need. but in many times it is accurate.
I have written under the vid: "Do this at your own risk." So only thing I can do is hope, that your car will be ok...
hi mate, just in menu you switch off the dynamometer/rig test mode, just like you switch off autolock. and then you have to restart the engine. it is at the end of video.
@oewb but please, do not forget to turn ESP back on. It is a safety feature, which might help sometime...

@scrokostas it doesnt completly deactivates it..it will stil kick in if u would try burnout w/e
@jmurjr there is also a button near the sifter which says ''ESP'' and when u press it deactivates..what about that?
@oewb this worked also on 08 ML class merc. so it should be possible on 06 C class
This is why I live my w203 coupe cos it has a whole 1 button for the esp turn it off and on when u like with no crazy sequences to follow lol
To: Doco.... Reply to your question: most likely you have a bad wheel speed sensor. hard to tell which wheel unless you have a tool to hook it up to tell you exactly. Usually Mercedes dealers here in US charge $ 90-140 for each and you can do it your self and save 150/hr on labor .
@93nikolas93 you are right i asked that 3 months ago when me and my buddy wanted to have some fun with his E240..now we know how to put the merc in dyno mode..screw ESP button ;)

Actually i want to contribute.I just bought a Mercedes c230 kompressor coupe 2003 and the ABS BAS and ESP light, would not turn off.I had tried everything until i checked the fuse box located on the left side of the firewall and it turns out that's all that it needed.I replaced the first row towards the radiator support,vertically first row and last row vertically towards the firewall.You can use 15 or 20.
@jmurjr I live in Canada, still much snow and ice on the roads. I keep it on most of the time. Just turn it off on them nice summer days to have some fun.

No offense albo, but that is your own fault. If u can't control your car, leave ESP on. It is on there for a reason, and 99 percent of the time I like having it on. I even use my RWD Merc C to go snowboarding and the ESP has saved my life countless times. This function was designed for dyno-ing the car, and can be useful for things like the quarter mile drag where you want to spin your tires, but if its off you need to know your car is relying on you entirely for control and act accordingly.

go back to the service menu and turn the dynamometer test off. switch off engine, and start over.
I have a B-class W245. ESP is very aggressive and will cut power almost entirely if you try go up a hill during winter and loose grip. So in those cases, when you absolutely need to power through some slippery areas.. and assuming you know how to drive.. by all means turn off everything and go apeshit on the throttle.

oh no worries my car was doing this on its own before I tryed. turn it off, like esp was coming on for literally no reason, so I tryed to turn it off but the stupid thing gave me a different error and still put me in limp mode, I don't get what wrong with it, I though turning off the esp I would at least be able to drive it normal for a bit till I can check the sensor but no dice.

My 2010 e350 had this light and the car felt so heavy on gas, I turned the car off for 5 minutes and the light went away same thing with the engine light

This does not fix the fault though! Put a diagnostic on car determine fault and repair..my scanner says rear left abs sensor..am changing tomorrow so will update

In my Mercedes W245 B150, after a while I start driving, the ESP and tire pressure light become disabled and give a warning. Since ESP is disabled, it does not accelerate more than 125 km/h. Does anyone know the reason for this? thanks

Ya man, you clearly dont own a merc, or you have never really aggressively driven your car. If you press the esp off button, like on my C class it just increases the tolerance for wheel spin, and not by that much. If you are running it on a drag strip, want to drift, etc, the ESP will still kick in in less than a sec, so this is the only way to fully shut it off.
