    "Let him be the guy" that pretty much sums up his first two seasons. It was him against everyone. Year 1 probably the only guy who truly believed in him was Fitz, and the way Tua became the starter created a bit of a controversial situation. Year 2 he reunited with Jaylen and after the first couple months they showed why they drafted him his old WR. He's 13-8 i think as a starter. That's a playoff record. They just never let him be the guy. Hopefully McDaniels will. And for the love of god draft some 340 7'7'' wardrobe to protect the guy.

    People need to understand that the hip surgery has truly effected his mechanics. He’s not as mobile as he was in college and his arm is WEAKER as a result of that injury as well. He is NOT the same QB he once was. Now, can he still be a starter in the league? Absolutely. He’s accurate and throws a catchable ball. With the weapons he has now though, he’s gotta show that he can be the guy worthy of going 5th overall. Lord knows that Justin Herbert and Joe Burrow have lived up to the hype. Tua has not. I think that’s where the hate stems from. The hate that should fall on an incompetent front office is misdirected toward Tua. Regardless, this year is a make it or break it year for Tua. He HAS to perform.

      What has herbert done? Him an tua won same amount of games. Both watched sb from home. Throwing the ball 4500 yards got him no father than tua throwing 2600..so what makes him better?.throwing 80 yards never worked for him yet. So I'm waiting.

    • @jonathanfletcher97
      @jonathanfletcher97 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@vivM.5497 ask yourself who passes the eye test in terms of pushing the ball downfield and overall play. Objectively speaking and honestly. Herbert is head and shoulders about Tua. That “games won” argument is nonsensical. The Dolphins defense won games during Tuas rookie year; #1 scoring defense and the highest turnover margin. The same thing last year. They kept the Phins in games DESPITE Tua putting them in situations to lose game after game; that Falcons game for example where the Phins create a turnover, just to have Tua throw an INT on the ensuing possession. Granted, he hasn’t had a fair shot with poor O-line play and a nonexistent run game. But the decision making is on him. His inability to push the ball downfield is on his faulty mechanics. He’s accurate for sure, but it’s pretty easy to be accurate in an offense that doesn’t throw the ball downfield. Put Herbert on this team they have now, with the weapons, newly acquired offensive linemen, and that defense. The conversation around that would put the Dolphins in contention for the division and possibly the AFC. With Tua it’s merely “will the Dolphins make the playoffs.”

      He's a slightly above average QB entering his 3rd year, while he's top 5 in certain aspects like accuracy & pocket presence. Tua has shined with absolutely nothing around him. Getting rid of him would be top 3 worst decisions in Dolphins history.
