Thanks Master the Sound! DIY is the only way to build out a studio of classic gear. Nice work on your Lindell 7x and PEX demos! th-cam.com/video/BbvhMdFM25w/w-d-xo.html
I like them! They impart a really nice vibe on drums or mix buses. That said I do wish the unit was as a stereo one. I very rarely use a single mono unit. You have to mess around with the drive and output controls a bit to get them synced up.
Hey Stefan! I've used this on stereo mixes a few times. The units react very similarly but they are not exactly the same. I think this pair could have been even tighter if I had opted for entirely 1% tolerance components. There are some parts like the concentric pots where I have no idea how you could get the tolerances low enough to make the two units perform identically. That said you can get pretty close. The vocals example in the video is actually a stereo bus with several vocal tracks mixed and panned. The blue line is the left channel and the green line is the right channel th-cam.com/video/iubz0XtbJh8/w-d-xo.html. Full disclaimer: In this example I set the units to where they sounded good and didn't worry too much about them being exactly the same. It turns out that they were pretty darn close when I looked with Bertom.
@@shoetiquemusic Yeah that's what I was thinking, the passive stuff is fairly easy to measure and match but the pots are just going to throw it all out. Reckon that's the way to go, dial them in close and not get too hung up if it's not perfect. Cheers!
Yes - who knows what the other hand could be doing! Real Gear Online was just brought to my attention by Pier Paolo of APP992 fame. I'm looking forward to getting to know the folks there! realgearonline.com/
I already got you covered Billy! Check out my video on the Mic Parts 12-251 here: th-cam.com/video/KoCaj84OCRM/w-d-xo.html More mics to come in the not too distant future. If you can find me plans for a DIY DAW I could complete the entire signal chain!
The greatest intro I've ever heard
Thanks Steve! I made it specifically for you. Please stop sending me photos.

@@shoetiquemusic Ohh thank you so much for following along! I hope to have the next episode ready for upload very soon. All the best, Tobi
do you have an estimate of the cost per unit? thanx
Roughly $475 per channel. That number doesn't include shipping which could vary wildly depending on when you live.
What do you think about the skulptor ts500?
I like them! They impart a really nice vibe on drums or mix buses. That said I do wish the unit was as a stereo one. I very rarely use a single mono unit. You have to mess around with the drive and output controls a bit to get them synced up.
Instant subscribe after that intro
Thanks Dougley! Unfortunately people haven't been listening to my warning and I've been filing police reports left and right.
You are just amazing
Right back at ya Huggins!
Have you tried using the two of them on a stereo mix? Is it difficult to get the units to react in a similar way?

Shit. How did he know?!
Haha, right?!
Listen Dude, I'll let it slide this time, but I'm going to need you to zip up when you're commenting. Folks are getting nervous.
Build a tube mic, you need the whole vocal chain to be DIY

That bandana was clearly a thirst trap...
In the original upload I was only wearing a bandanna and it got flagged down.
I really appreciate you continuing to support the channel Higher!
