He probably would have, considering Rhulk's nature before we killed him he definitely seems like the type who would do that to disciples that raise their voice towards the witness.
I'd like to think that the reason the Tormentors have almost no head at all, and all of the Witness's acolytes wear these head-binding helmets, is because what the Witness doesn't need its servants to THINK. It just needs them to DO. Imagine if every time you failed, every time you made a mistake, that helmet tightened a bit more, squeezing your head, your mind, but thanks to the Witness's abilities, you won't die from it. It just squeezes and squeezes until you stop trying to think on your own, and just do as the Witness wants without question, without personal agenda. That maybe the thoughts and minds of others causes the Witness pain, so it seeks to...end that pain. By cutting it out of the universe. I got no proof of it, but I love to think of it that way. And that Calus got a taste of that in his dream, when his ego spoke too loudly.
“ENOUGH.. “ Even something as calm as the witness is terrifying when angered.. even if it is the end of everything. Whatever calus experienced caused him to bleed… just what in the seven hells are we up against As they say.. do not test the fury of a patient being. That kinda wrath makes the devil himself shiver
Sees Calus sleeping Ted: Gary, hey Gary, I think they're talking to each other Gary, listening to music on an iphone he found on neomuna: What was that? I wasn't paying attention? Also, what is WOP? What does it mean? Ted: For the love of god, put that thing away, what would Nezarec say if he saw you mess around with that? Wait, nevermind, probably find it funny.
For those wondering why The Witness lost its patience. Think back to when or if you had a manchild coworker or subordinate. Thats what hes dealing with here.
Especially when he previously had rhulk, who didn't just believe in the cause wholeheartedly, he could actually get shit done compared to calus' goofy ass
@WoodDavers Calus is the living embodiment of "will kick the kitten, would never slap a tiger". He's a pussy of the highest order. He killed his own child's pet because she loved it more than he, but when it came time to actually do something, he bellows at the Tormentors to find the Veil, and considered sitting on his ass to be "drudgery"
@@WoodDavers Right. Billions of years of conquering for The Witness, subjugated Lumina with relative ease, and knew his place/knew his spot on the totem pole. He was very vain and full of himself, but he did the #1 thing one CAN do to remain in permanent good favor w/ a narcissist. Appeal to THEIR vanity more often, compliment them, praise them, reflect on their greatness to strangers, Rhulk checked off those boxes easily...so his behavior was more tolerated, because he was infinitely more useful than Calus, and The Witness didn't care if he'd mouth off, he was fulfilling The Witness's vision with his full effort/passion.
No one ever talks about this but i really dont like the complete 180 they did with calus, he used to worship the witness/the voice in the dark and was all about being the last thing left before the final shape and all of a sudden in lightfall he acted like he hates the witness, it just doesnt maek sense to me
He worshipped the being that wielded the darkness. He created a perfect god in his mind. In his infinite hubris and uncontrollable ego he imagined the darkness controlled by another him. He hates the witness because it's not even close to the being he spent so long seeking
It’s now that I realize Calus accidentally pointed out the one thing the witness can’t do… it can’t make the final shape at this point and it’s ego was so hurt that it got mad at him.
Am I the I it one that finds it interesting the witness calls calus emperor? He’s emperor of nothing at this point. Almost like a subtle insult though those are beneath the witness I guess…
Eh, witness was kinda in a tough spot. It needed the quickest possible way to get to the veil without doing it by itself by hand, so taking a guy who allready simps for you, sending him to get killed so you can control a ghost and then fuck off into the pale heart
@@hugoguzman4985 doesn't really change much, calus was still a massive simp for the witness, and would do whatever it told him. He only really started doubting when he found out that it isn't what he thought the witness actually was, but by that point it was too late
Calus had an army, was a decently powerful figure, was obedient (for the most part), and, importantly, was exceptionally easy to manipulate. Calus, as an insufferable narcissist, desired glory and revelry for himself. Do you know what the Witness offered him? For him to be the last one standing at the end of times. Or, to put it another way, Calus was to literally be the Final Shape. The last glorious being in the universe before that too disappeared. This obviously was never going to happen, especially what we know now about the Witness's vision for the Final Shape. But Calus only saw glory for himself and was willing to do anything to get it. So, making him a Disciple was an easy choice...until Calus became disillusioned when he realized he was basically a lackey playing fetch for the Witness.
Of course the Witness would be annoyed. Calus always holds on to an empty ass chalice. The empty promise of glorious nihilism. To me, that is what that chalice represents. The Darkness stated that it has no need or interest in nihilistic pawns. And the Witness is not at all nihilistic either because its goal is to bring "meaning to a meaningless universe". The Disciples were pawns. But i feel Calus was the biggest pawn of all because im sure even with making Calus a disciple he knew his motivations were flawed and was basically sending him off to die against us. The sword logic was effective because it had meaning and aligned with the path of darkness. Rhulk's motivations was effective because he sought the destruction of difference and disparity. Nezarec somewhat had meaning because it was about being one with the universe. But Calus? Nothing had meaning but yet he still sought glory and splendor. Thus, the least effective to the Darkness and The Witness alike
I think it’s kinda crazy we just whooped this guys ass when he has the level of power he does. I feel if he was this mad from a little disrespect from Calus, why didn’t he do that 10-fold to us in the boss fight?
I think it DID. The Witness was crazy angry near the end of the campaign, yelling and screaming about how we weren't worthy of salvation while also turning into a giant, many armed monstrosity that was the boss for a raid that was apparently brutally hard. The Witness is powerful, but so are the Guardians, the Traveler, and all of our allies. Don't forget, it took all our allies, Savathun, and the Traveler's power, for us to take down the Witness. Anything less than that and we wouldn't have stood a chance. It really isn't that crazy in my opinion, considering how many times Guardians have defied impossible odds and toppled gods (hey, that rhymed!).
In the book you get from the physical pre-order, it gives a fuckton of background of The Witness before they become, well, The Witness. tl;dr, some mad guy basically forced their entire race to commit suicide, use the darkness to merge into one, and punish the Traveler for leaving them. The problem is, the collective that forms The Witness instantly regrets it the moment they become The Witness. Imagine not just one, but millions or even billions of voices regretting what they have done, voices of people you know and loved, all begging to stop and reverse everything. And it tried to use its powers to reverse it, but it can't. Because it has decided on the form and function it will takes towards the universe. The knife of The Winnower. And that's the reason why The Witness was so mad at Calus for his disrespect. Because The Witness knew Calus is correct. It could have done so much more with the power it have. But it can't. Because all what it have done billions of years ago.
For one, this cutscene exists inside Calus' mind. The Witness is telepathically communicating with him here (you can see he wakes up after the cutscene). I am going to imagine that when The Witness anoints Disciples, it gains the ability to not only communicate with them in this way, but also to exert complete control within their mind.

“ENOUGH.. “
Even something as calm as the witness is terrifying when angered.. even if it is the end of everything. Whatever calus experienced caused him to bleed… just what in the seven hells are we up against
As they say.. do not test the fury of a patient being. That kinda wrath makes the devil himself shiver
The witness is anything but calm if i remember correctly. Dude is filled unbridled rage
Can’t get over Calus’s gimp suit
For everyone saying its sweat its definitely blood and aslo he is bleeding from the helmet not just his nose
‘My rizzler”
Bro just wanted a drink.
Calus saw horrors beyond his comprehension.
Contacting destiny 2 servers is the real final boss
The fifth element vibes.
Wouldn't be Destiny 2 without the "Attention: Contacting servers" pop up 😂
Sees Calus sleeping
Ted: Gary, hey Gary, I think they're talking to each other
Gary, listening to music on an iphone he found on neomuna: What was that? I wasn't paying attention? Also, what is WOP? What does it mean?
Ted: For the love of god, put that thing away, what would Nezarec say if he saw you mess around with that? Wait, nevermind, probably find it funny.
Anyone else notice the witness seems to breathe through it's suit?
This one scene is better than the rest of the expansion
Calus saw the witness growing larger by the second and was crushed under the weight of his gaze.
Damn calus you even made the witness pissed😂😂😂😂
1:11 ENOUGH!!
Why does that "Enough" sound kinda feminine not to mention that statue with a veil covering it we saw everywhere.
*"you have no purpose because you fear to seek one that fear is your failur" *:i don't About you but that is a great roast
They did Calus and the Leviathan so dirty...
@@Buoyant_Bearthe funny thing is that Rhulk had small glimpses of doubt in his final period
i actually really liked the dialogue of lightfall exlcuding nimbus
Ahhh the witness refers to themselves as “we” because it is that entire species in one body
Yo wtf did he turn into fr...That must have been something absolutely terrifying.
Witness is turth of gods of darkness.
Good old connecting to severs …
calus realizing he picked the wrong side
I just realize has jeweled finger nails.
And has a nose bleed at 1:23. Never notice them.
Love the 5th Element homage!!
“Contacting destiny 2 servers”
That’s a strong start to a d2 vid 🤣
no matter how bad the Lightfall campaign was, this cutscene still goes hard af
CALUS ALWAYS PISSED ME OFF ANYWAY.
That Cutscene is the best
It’s now that I realize Calus accidentally pointed out the one thing the witness can’t do… it can’t make the final shape at this point and it’s ego was so hurt that it got mad at him.
Am I the I it one that finds it interesting the witness calls calus emperor? He’s emperor of nothing at this point. Almost like a subtle insult though those are beneath the witness I guess…
Glory to Space King!

Дристени 2 оно такое дристени ...
EHOUGH!
Learn how to spell it’s embarrassing
Once The Witness said ENOUGH Calus literally shit himself! 😂
Callus’s voice is almost like nails on the chalkboard to my ears! 😣😣😣😣
Who are those red dudes standing next to his throne?
Tormentors
Who is that on your pfp?
@@crimsonstrykr Link is in my about.
He/she or they are not only true power of universe.
But also they are truly the true control of power.

1:11 im pissing
Why the hell was Calus even made a Disciple? Dude is completely incompetent.
Eh, witness was kinda in a tough spot. It needed the quickest possible way to get to the veil without doing it by itself by hand, so taking a guy who allready simps for you, sending him to get killed so you can control a ghost and then fuck off into the pale heart
@@olivia892 Calus was ALREADY a Disciple when the Witness sent him to Neptune, though.
It was solely for a Guardian to get their Ghost near the Veil.
What a Diva
Just because the Witness wants to win without fighting, doesn’t mean it can’t.
5th Element 😁
This guy looks goofy as hell
Just like how Bungie Fails the Entire Destiny Community with the godawful campaign
Especially fucking Headlong
Death by dramacide. Boring.
The Whitness is such a cheesy edge lord villain. Boring, tedious, and predictable.
God that whole scene is pure cringe.
