Hello dudes; gather round. In the olden days we used to play music to live audiences. This is my love letter to that archaic tradition, filmed backstage onstage and beyondstage on tour in the Summer of 2019.
Maybe even more so than any other video I've ever gotten to make, this one is absolutely nothing without a mountain of massively talented and generous friendos who play a role in my touring life. They are TJ, Billy, Paul, Zach, Will, Turbo, Jackson, James, Tanner, Erik, Thaddaeus, Scotty, Logan, Curt, Jim Riley, Nigel, Doug, and Jamie, and I am deeply induded to each of 'em. And dudes: Thank you Chris and Preston for taking a chance on a misfit drummer like me. It changed my life.

Always found playing sheds/house of blues/arenas so boring. Toning beats being able to walk around town, find some food, do so,etching, anything. On the other circuit, you are always in the middle of nowhere .

@@Philipp.of.Swabia lol i don't even remember writing that comment, but yeah meinl sounds amazing as well, chris coleman is one of my favorite sponsored drummers for them - i'm just biased cause of how cheap and amazing the paiste pts7 lights sound lol, but if you forget price and just admit to go to the higher level cymbals, all companies are going to sound completely enjoyable

Noblesville! Whatever corporation is sponsoring the Noblesville ampitheater... it is named DEER CREEK. That place changes hands of corporation sponsorship and change the name each time, and it was Deer Creek when it opened in the middle of cornfields, and it's Deer Creek now with the entire town that's built up around it. I used to operate a camera on the catwalk above the audience, and there were a few shows where I would get a contact buzz from smoke drifting up. lol. Very cool to work behind the scenes and see rock n' roll parking lot living.
Watched this way back, just voted for your vid. As a restive suburban tech-ite still playing his Tama's I can enjoy vicariously the drum life I had briefly. Your love of Carter Beauford's drumming is also shared. (Your serious vid is very close to me too.)
