I like Blastcharge! He's all business. He doesn't have time make himself look pretty. He's too busy slagging Maxi's. And I imagine that his "head-turning" gimmick is more for making quick turns than for actually looking around. He is a rapid assault tank, afterall. Oh, and you forgot about my favourite mode, the robot assault mode! Where he turns into a half tank half robot thing. Kind of like Rattraps handicap mode, but cool.
I was almost going to comment that of all the plastic addict victims, this one is one of least awful... Then you transformed him. OH WELL AT LEAST THE VEHICLE LOOKED OK
Horrid or not, Blastcharge is an interesting character. If I wanted to buy Beast Machines figures, then it's going to be the non-canon characters who were not in the show because the main Maximal and Vehicon toys (Except for Botanica because she never had a toy version of herself) looked nothing like their TV show counterparts. The non-canon characters are really interesting.
The scary thing is I get messages from people telling me they actually WANT these toys after seeing Plastic Addict episodes for them, so I figured as long as it was available, I'd link to it.
I have fond memories of this toy. For one, I can remember that the legs kept splitting at the mid- shin because the pegs wearn't tight enough. Also, you forgot the "third mode"
Story wise, I could think how Blastcharge can fit in a transformers story, and make it fucked up. A human turned into a Decepticon, and given that robot mode as a joke
I loved this review. I've been going through your old Plastic Addict episodes and noticed you haven't focused on Beast Machines at all. I mean, Cheetor Supreme was on your top five but that is it. I would hope you would do a Beast Machines week/month and knock out the ones you thought were really good or bad.
universe toxitron is a "failed project" , considering he is a very good robot that looks toxic . and this junk isn't a failed project . bad things happen to good toys , and good things happen to bad toys
I love his vehicle design. That's why I bought him. But the robot mode is really terrible. Btw the extended cap doesn't just let him look left and right but let's him make tighter turns so it's actually a good function. And somehow I like that he has a wheelchair mode.
@purplewolfranger22 Only problem with that, the chest doesn't fold down. The gun section doesn't at least, the whole thing fold down for transformation but the head cant be raised up afterwards. This is the only configuration he has for robot mode.
Wasnt the reason for the mismatch (in vehicle parts) because in the main story Megatron scrapped other Maximals (and to my understanding some predicons) recycled useful parts to his drones and remolded the rest by melting the scrap. His entire army was made from 100% recycled Maximals. So I would say the mismatch works well.
Ohh, I made a predacon OC called Floodgate, but I haven't thought of what he'll turn into yet. I wanted it to be an animal or bug that nobody has made a transformer out of before, something challenging. Got any ideas?
I actually like the vehicle design, but with the rockets ditched. The cannon looks then actually cool with the wide nozzle, something of a gauss cannon.
TJ, when you grabbed for You-Know-Who, you scared the crap out of me and possibly a few others. Can't wait for the review of LaserBeak. I've been hearing that the toy is crap. Can't wait to hear your opinion on the darn thing.
I'm not sure if you didn't Notice or it was part of the Video but in away he does have Knees there between the Top Tire & the Metal Leg & it does Bend but Otherwise Great Review.XD Can't Wait to See Lazerbeak Although I'm Hoping to See the Beast Riders Soon Too.
Hey, one of mine! The reason I even bought this monstrosity in the first place was at the time the rumor was this was originally planned to be a Strika toy back before we knew we would even get one. Might explain the birthing hips and missle nipples. Then it sat on myself for years, but now TJ has given it a good home and the ridiculing it deserves. Thanks TJ!
still personally dig this guy, though i do see where the criticisms are justified. i can just look past those flaws. i like that he has shiny chrome on him and had a very original design in both modes.
Honestly I have seen FAR worse. Personally I like this guy quite alot and the "steering" gimmick - to the best of my memory- is actually present in the real vehicle of this.
i knw G1 toys were the originals and had limited articulation, and the weaknesses that most toys from the line had but will they be in plastic addict vids? ^_^
9 years later and the Gobot joke still cracks me up every time.

OH WELL AT LEAST THE VEHICLE LOOKED OK
Yeah, the vehicle was the only good thing.
Maybe in the sea of rust the camo can work.
That's what I was gonna say :)

@@Omabatfartsbruh Who defies good and why should one care
Actually his vehicle mode has a kinda mad max aesthetic
LOL! Another Great Addict Review! I can't believe the robot modes of these figures sometimes! Looks like he was built by a junkicon!
I display him with my junkions.
I think the arrow could be repainted to be a Japanese "new driver" symbol. That could be an interesting character trait.
"So he has a tendency to dance." I don't know why, but this is still my absolute favorite line from any of your reviews.
The scary thing is I get messages from people telling me they actually WANT these toys after seeing Plastic Addict episodes for them, so I figured as long as it was available, I'd link to it.

RUN A CRAP MEGAMAN ROBOT HAD A CHILD WITH A GOBOT!!!! RRRRRRUUUUUUNNNNNNN
Story wise, I could think how Blastcharge can fit in a transformers story, and make it fucked up. A human turned into a Decepticon, and given that robot mode as a joke
"So he has a tenancy to Dance."
XD
3:53 that's visible headsyndome a very common thing in transformers
Is there a hotline for treatment of the syndrome? POTP starscream needs help.
Bob Newby Superhero it can be pushed into his body
You missed the wheelchair bound third "mode"
probably still better than the normal legs
The vehicle mode has a pretty cool mad max vibe. The robot mode looks like it was slapped together from scrap metal. There is a difference.
I loved this review. I've been going through your old Plastic Addict episodes and noticed you haven't focused on Beast Machines at all. I mean, Cheetor Supreme was on your top five but that is it. I would hope you would do a Beast Machines week/month and knock out the ones you thought were really good or bad.
lol, I honestly didn't mean to lift that line exactly, it's just how it came out in the moment.
universe toxitron is a "failed project" , considering he is a very good robot that looks toxic . and this junk isn't a failed project . bad things happen to good toys , and good things happen to bad toys
These classic episodes of Plastic Addict are great.
I love his vehicle design. That's why I bought him. But the robot mode is really terrible.
Btw the extended cap doesn't just let him look left and right but let's him make tighter turns so it's actually a good function.

Wait wait wait, he alluded to Armada Laserbeak.... but the next is BTR Skyblast?
You made me like the figure even more.
@purplewolfranger22 Only problem with that, the chest doesn't fold down. The gun section doesn't at least, the whole thing fold down for transformation but the head cant be raised up afterwards. This is the only configuration he has for robot mode.
Actually, the front part turning could be reminiscent of a Big Rig or some other form of large Diesel Powered Motor Vehicle
I like blastcharge. despite your ladi critique.
Junkion Tank. Really.
Wasnt the reason for the mismatch (in vehicle parts) because in the main story Megatron scrapped other Maximals (and to my understanding some predicons) recycled useful parts to his drones and remolded the rest by melting the scrap. 3:53 tj,it's called 'trying to smell what you ate'
@TheTravistouchdown What did you have in mind?
really looking forward to the next one. this one was great, too.
More Gobot than G1 Ironhide and Ratchet's toys' heads?
Is it sad that I used to have an old Tankor figure from BurgerKing that was designed better than Blastcharge?
He looks so cool along with the other Vehicons like mirage and Scavenger
Who else would be a cameraman?
i mean heads in robot mode did make a very beast like machine,
@MrFrostbite625 I can't name the exact song title for it, but it's from the game series Vandal Hearts.
@MrFrostbite625 It's defiantly in the game somewhere, I just don't have it anymore to find it myself.
i just noticed that you can see some of the chrome chipping off, lol
I have an OC named Blastpipe, but she's named after the funnel inside a steam locomotive that shoots the steam exhaust up into the stack.
Ohh, I made a predacon OC called Floodgate, but I haven't thought of what he'll turn into yet. I wanted it to be an animal or bug that nobody has made a transformer out of before, something challenging. Got any ideas?
you might want to take a look at from the same line general tankor in vechile mode
@TJOmega you can put the missile rack behind his headbut his head is looking down a little to make his look a bit more menacing
I actually like the vehicle design, but with the rockets ditched. The cannon looks then actually cool with the wide nozzle, something of a gauss cannon.

I'm surprised that baltmatrix liked this figure.
Steven Dolce same
One of cooler look toy I seen
The Universe version at least looks slightly better...
OMFG! it's LAZERBREAK! ARMADA LAZERBEAK YOU'RE GOING DOWN!
screech from a bird?
camera?
spying?
lazerbreak aspects
WOOOOOOOOOOT!
I'm not sure if you didn't Notice or it was part of the Video but in away he does have Knees there between the Top Tire & the Metal Leg & it does Bend but Otherwise Great Review.XD
Can't Wait to See Lazerbeak Although I'm Hoping to See the Beast Riders Soon Too.
Rocket nipples joke always gets me XD
I think that the spring-loaded vehicle head could be used as a ram or something.
@TJOmega What about the gerwalk modes of the variable fighters from macross?
wow i was going to get this guy before but now i dont know if i should
Hey, one of mine! The reason I even bought this monstrosity in the first place was at the time the rumor was this was originally planned to be a Strika toy back before we knew we would even get one. deluxe and the larger jetstorm. Obsidian is quite fun too.
I personally liked this figure, but I hated how his feet swiveled too much and I agree about the crystal.
I like how you used to do skits like these. Very funny
His camo would be pretty effective in the Sea of Rust.
I got one and I quite like it, really. :)
Not keen on the legs one bit, but I do love the tank mode (mostly because of the zanyness of the head). Can't wait for Laserbeak's review!
im just going to guess is the next plastic addict nightscream because the screech or scream at the end sounds for some reason to me a bat
for camo im getting it a pass because of the sea of rust a place that color sceme that does match this guy camo
I just realized BlastCharge has the same proportions as Brawn's G1 toy
and G1 toy base:
knee articulation is useless without a forward joint in the top leg
The vehicle mode looks amazing
I like him. Gives sort of a Mad Max vibe.
He'd look right at home alongside the Junkions.
I Would love you to do BM Strika,
tj a blast charge is a piece of equipment used by swat teams and military
I wonder who's getting reviewed next?
i dont think the car mode uses the front as a head i think its a sterring thing
@MrFrostbite625 im kinda afraid of what number 3 is
@SHOCKarm910 It does actually make sense for this vehicle
I wish to apply for the position of cameraman!
I had a dream where you reviewed beast machines jetstorm, the smaller one.
He's got a nice vehicle mode.
still personally dig this guy, though i do see where the criticisms are justified. i can just look past those flaws. i like that he has shiny chrome on him and had a very original design in both modes.
its not the head i think :) you have some dump trucks that are articulated in the centre
i love the theme song! you should release an mp3!
the screws on the legs are should be showing foward
When will you review Mol, Rav/Cro or Dillo? There are no other reviews for them unless you know a link.
I want this thing
TBH, I actually rather like this dork of a tank bot & would legit like to own this guy one day.
hey tj, you could take out all 3 missiles and fold down the chest to make it lok a bit better
you know you can angle th wheels to cover a bit his shoulders
@BottlesOnTheFloor Its sounds like bygone days 2, but it was different.
are you reviewing that laserbeak from armada?
i really like his vehicle mode
Is it just me, it does his head look like the T-60 (i think) Power Armour from Fallout?
I LIKE the idea of a chest canon. But yeah, even that is ruined by it being unable to fold down.
THIS GUY!
Have this dude up in my closet... totally forgot about him.
Shame 60% of his paint is chipped off. XD
Nice vid.
Hey man Metal Greymon did it so why cant blast charge?
Honestly I have seen FAR worse. Personally I like this guy quite alot and the "steering" gimmick - to the best of my memory- is actually present in the real vehicle of this.
So what was the review after this that was hinted at in the ending?
Damn. I was going to say that.
Oh well. Still excited.
tj!!!!!!! do a good review of your deadpool!
do u have a pan-handler
On the plus side, he does make a decent background Junkion.
i knw G1 toys were the originals and had limited articulation, and the weaknesses that most toys from the line had but will they be in plastic addict vids? ^_^
No, he's already said that no G1 toys will be Plastic Addict Victims, since they are held to a different standard than later toys.
speaking of go-bots, you should review that line, as well as the transformers rescue bots tv series
