  • In todays video we install a very important item that frankly should be on every turbo direct injection bmw. I bought this oil catch can on amazon www.amazon.com...
    It cost $25 and i bought 3/4 inch heater coolant hose from autozone for $6. the install took about an hour and very minimal tools. this will help keep deposit off your intake valves and keep oil out of your intake.

    I am using this exact one in my F10 535i. I put it in Aug. 2022, works great I empty it about once a month depending on mileage. I have been surprised by how much water I am collecting from time to time. The small amounts of oil seem pretty consistent. Looks good almost OEM and actually works...

    I'm curious. Before ripping mine apart, should I buy a new pcv so the fittings are new, or just reuse the fittings that are there?

      I buying a new one will insure you don’t face any issues. If it hasn’t been replaced it’s likely pretty brittle. And if you ever want to go back to stock you will have it.

    Why you made the out line hose too long, any reason?

    • @JonIbrahim

      So that the engine cover can still fit

    Did you have to get different fitting for the catch can to fit the 3/4 hose?

    • @JonIbrahim
      @JonIbrahim  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I just cranked down the hose clamps and it seems to be ok.

      I just used the 3/4 heater core hose from autozone

    FYI heater coolant hoses aren't good for oil. I know this is a small amount of oil with mostly air passing through so no PSI issue, but heater coolant hoses will degrade over time.

    How has this been holding up?

    • @JonIbrahim
      @JonIbrahim  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So far so good! I’ve put probably 2,000 miles on it. It’s collected a small amount of oil. Enough to show up on the little dip stick. Mount is fine and no signs of leaking
