Ill tell you why some prosecutors don't charge. When money is involved anything goes. I had a major drug busy happen to me. When i got to jail the lead agent said "I'm going to do you a favor. Ill talk to you tomorrow". I was so confused. When they did the booking process i only had 5 possession chargers. I should have had 25 trafficking charges. I bonded out and he called me and said "you and your lawyer need to come meet me at the state attorney office". So we walk in and DEA says we can charge you with all these charges (money laundry, trafficking, doctor shopping, etc) but if you give DEA your car and the 47k in cash in the house we will leave you alone.... Sign here. Then he said the sheriff gets the 190k in the banks. We told them we would give some but not all. Then covid broke out 3 weeks later and my court date was pushed back for years. My states attorney quit and the lead agent left narcotics to go to human trafficking. I ended up giving them 80k. And only got 1 year probation with priors. They only charged me with what was in my car. They took over 400k in product from me. (They missed 300k in cash which i was sooooo grateful for lol). But they knew i wasnt a bad guy. I didn't sell opiates, didn't sell heroin, and had no firearms so they liked me somewhat. But if i didn't have money got them to take i would be doing 15-20 years. IT'S ALWAYS ABOUT THE MONEY

This guy worked in a tiny city in a low population county. He doesn’t know what it’s like to be a narc. One year in patrol??? Ridiculous!!!! A real undercover cop does the work himself. Does not depend on the informant. There are ways to handle snitches. You do it the same every time. A snitch is a crook. I am not letting them wear the high tech wires. You never show that stuff to anyone. He will tell his buddies all about it. Best solution, get an intro or work your way in and YOU wear the wire. You do it right. You can protect their identity. A good UC does. I can’t believe you don’t know what happens in discovery. Apparently the prosecutors were worthless. If you are not using drug users as informants you are living in denial. The case depends on you, not the snitch!! Damn this pisses me off. There is no corruption there. The informant is just one of the tools on your narc tool belt. Just one tool. The case depends on you. You need to find a real narc from a big city to hear the truth. Not that a real narc would ever come on your show.
I worked at a few power plants in swva and southern West Virginia. Working with the locals I can tell you those toothless hillbillies who can hardly complete a sentence with the real English language can sniff out a cop as soon as the walk and talk. They were talking at the bar that they local sheriff had hire a detective up from Memphis tenn to help clean up the drugs in the area. On a side note the pills are killing people left and right as well as meth there and they were more worried about the “devils lettuce”. Strange I know. I asked the deputy that came into the motel to check on it why and he said that the community still thinks that marijuana is the real danger and gateway drug and that’s how they believe they can stop the pill and meth problem! Dumb I know. But they ran that hotshot detective out of town in no time. The stores wouldn’t hardly say hey to him and the bar/strip club I went to wouldn’t serve him without I D for every beer and the girls wouldn’t talk or go near him. They don’t like strangers or cops unless the cop is family and will let them do whatever they want too. It’s so bad that police will not go into some places after dark and will never go to arrest certain people. They will send word and those people will come in on their own. They said yes they can strong arm those inbred idiots but if they do the whole community will turn on them and make life harder. It’s a dynamic that I would never become a custom to. It’s weird, scary and odd. But if your are accepted by then you never have to worry about doing without. They will help anyone in need. They have a weird honor system but they are true to it and their word. They hate police but they will be the first to step into the line of fire to protect an officer in need. They believe in working things out themselves they have a problem they resolve it. The police let them fight it out and stay out unless it becomes a problem. They don’t arrest bobby joe and Gary Jean for fighting because in a few hours those two will be fishing or workin on a truck together. But you arrest them both families will be mad because they don’t have much money and bail is expensive. Lawyers are expensive and everyone is mad at the officer and it makes the two people hate each other because they constantly hear about having to be bailed out. Cops have it easy as long as they just let it be. There isn’t any real crime to speak of among residents they police themselves but they also do live outside the legitimate law. All I can say is I am so happy I am back in my city where it’s safe.
Absolutely, this guy was not even a cop for ten years. I worked overseas after I retired around guys like him, the big question I used to ask them was, how many cops has your agency lost since you became a police officer? This guy makes it sound like he was walking into the jaws of death every shift, I looked up the agencies/jurisdiction this dude worked for, and there is very little crime let alone violence--tremenda mierda. The title for this interview got my attention but it was extremely disappointing that someone with such little experience thought he could relate the life of an undercover cop--did he ever make an undercover buy on his own without a snitch? I never had a snitch testify in court or reveal their identity, if I used a snitch, he got me in the door but it was up to me to do that actual work. Saul, you and I both know guys like this, they looked like a cross between Charles Manson & ZZ Top but could not buy a soda from the pop dispenser in the hallway of the police station without getting ripped off by the machine.
His revelations that he wanted to die on the job was the biggest surprise I’ve had in an interview since actor Allan Richardson of reacher revealed he attempted it a few years ago. Another important aspect here is he never gets into the speci, its still a trigger. I knew a few combat veterans who have it
There’s something low key hilarious about asking a cop “so uh.. what was high school like for you? Were you bullied & picked on?” 😂 Because that’s the stereotype. Seems like a decent enough dude though. I like his attitude about how having a felony shouldn’t be a reason for a person’s job options to be limited for life. We gotta give people room to grow & change. If we lock them out of the workforce, of COURSE they’ll reoffend. I did my final project for my bachelors degree on how difficult it is to reintegrate into society after a prison term.
Surprised that he was able to do the job as long as he did. As a narc it's not like he saw any real long term success, probably saw some people get clean and sent people to prison but there's just too many other dealers not getting caught and/or replacing them and users that are ODing, it's gotta be obvious after a while that you're not even making a dent in the supply. If anything, things have just slowly been getting worse since the early 2000s and it's going to keep getting worse because the current approach doesn't work. Don't get me wrong, it would be great if it did but it doesn't, we spend billions every single year while the number of people passing away just keeps going up. Fades are everywhere and they're only getting stronger, it's like a game of wack-a-mole where every time they take 1 dealer down 3 more pop up...
Facts we need rehabilitation and Help/Opportunity instead of overcrowding jails and prisons that end up just making people angry and worse off…. The system just makes it worse for people in the community and the people getting charged lmao it doesn’t make sense 🤦♂️🤦♂️
