    Note: With the March 19th changes (after this recording) the duration of boons from medkit 5 were drastically increased. This can cover for the lost boons on mace 2 when using shortbow, making shortbow a more viable option for mechanist than before. It have more healing output, but still have the same issues with prot that I mentioned before.

      Tell me Alac DPS who upkeeps 100% Fury because Heal Quick Scrapper gives no Fury 😢
      HAM is able to upkeeps 25Might, Alac, Fury, Protection, Regen, Vigor and Swiftness permanently with Access to shoddy stab and aegis 😂 Beside Reviving I think HAM is better than Heal Scrapper ❤ both suffer from the Protection 😅

    I'd like to see a similar series to this but for the boon DPS builds. I feel like those are the most difficult builds to gauge what class is better to use--at least, if you're not looking to use quick Herald I guess--and I feel there's more variance on how those perform and even built.

  • @xezzee

    My current HAM (Heal Alac Mech) heal&boon rotation is Medkit 53 + Sheild 4 which is double water blast givin Vigor Regem and Swiftness for 20 seconds every 16 seconds.
    Set commands on auto-cast, use shield 5 and afk 😂 you can press mace 3 and then mace 2 off-cooldown for damage.
    Shield 4 and Medkit 5 both have 20s cooldown (16s under alac) so when you cam use shield 4 you can use Med Kit 5 ❤
    For more dmg take force signet and you can swap Alchemy in to Firearms. Both Power and Condi versions of traits did the same damage for me... So either 123 or 332 on Firearms. Alchemy trait line is more healing but inventions + shield is mandatory for permanent protection 😂 and 33% less dmg is mist have in my opinion 😅 better than healing the extra damage... Also inventions makes your own protectipn be 40% ❤ making you more tanky.
    Edit: Shortbow works just fine and might be better or worse but in my testing mace did better dmg and easier to play 😂 I just prefer Medkit 53 to Shield 4 dounle blast with Kararos relic for 10k heal every 16s 😅

    Thank you for this! Broke out my mech engineer and tried this healer build. Very fun! Being cheap, I went with full exotic Zho’s armor with Dwayna runes. Relic of the Flock, full ascended celestial trinkets . Weapons are exotic: From the TP-> Givers mace of concentration and finally had a reason to break open my Sun Grown weapon box for the shield! Sigils Concentration and Transference. Food is Bowl of Poultry Satay which I get in my home instance already. Obviously not a proper raiding build but plenty good enough for open world. No problem healing through Fire Elemental world boss which usually kills me!

    • @xezzee
      @xezzee หลายเดือนก่อน

      In My knowledge Mechanist's Mech does not inherent % boom duration 😅 Concentration sigils are wasted as well Water runes.
      It is highly recommended you run full Givera or full Harriers for best BD for Mech ❤ you can almost boom cap with full Harriers, Monk runes and ascensed Heal food.
      Celestial is not recommended because Low BD and even Minsterl's and Plaguedoctor's suffer from same problem lacking BD. Mainly Protection from F2 and Shields 45 won't 100% if you play full Celestial 😂 pyher boons depends how you play. For Alac you only need 35%

    I love mechanist as support but I have to confess, once mesmer got that rifle I haven't really looked back at any other support. I tried to hop on scourge, but lack of stability and getting booted around constantly in some fights despite having tons of barrier was frustrating. I love the mechanist with... I don't want to say lazy, but it is really less stressful than many other heal builds out there, but the fact you need to basically keep the aegis/stability button on cooldown most of the time kind of puts me off. But with the rifle mesmer especially after this balance patch, outside of people who just run around and avoid your bubbles, no one on the team should ever be getting CC'd again now and that gives me the happy juice. And chrono is just a phenomenal healer to. Now I just need to git gud at an open world build so I can start soloing stuff decently.
    Also rifle 2 is constant regen on mesmer rifle.
    Of course if they ever give Vindicator decent boon support that might become my favorite support build, but until then my poor rev sits on a shelf.

      @@Cross_111 I keep vying for it suggesting ways to do it, but it will also need the ability to apply might and fury much better than the current iteration of vindicator. Honestly I am not sure why ANet is so shy on wanting to give vindicator proper PvE boon support. I know they are trying this 1 alac, 1 quick and 1 DPS build set up for the elite specs, but vindicator is clearly designed with the idea it can be a pure DPS, pure healer, or a mix up. Honestly, I think they need to stop torturing the pore corpse of Renegade at this point and make that the pure DPs spec.

      @@Cross_111 One reason I think divorcing alac from Renegade, at least as is, the max DPS of renegade is being influenced that it's on demand instead of through a trait like any other alac giver in the game. Divorcing that means they wouldn't have excuses for not giving renegade a DPS boost. Furthermore, the whole summoning a brigade to fight theme fits more with a DPS set up than a boon giver. But this is just a personal take and given how much ANet seems to want to stick with the 1 quick 1 alac and1 DPS spec methods.

    • @mimimalloc

      Chrono is in the ideal place for a healer IMO. Lots of very potent strengths kept in check by one major weakness: a huge number of its boons are shared in a 360 radius around itself or attached to delayed skills that rely on allies being positioned within them like wells and tides of time. Chrono is in the group of healers most affected when the stack is forced to disperse, even if they can at least spot heal pretty much wherever they want with rifle.

  • @cameirusisu1024
    @cameirusisu1024 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    EDIT - MECH SKILLS TRIGGER TOOLBELT ACTIVATED SKILLS< so you DO get regen from that talent.
    In addition, at the start on the golem, you can easily heal that field if you pump up your healing with blasts in water field (mortar 5), shield 4 activate, exlir gun 4 (cancel jump with weapon swap), medkit 5. takes the spikiness out of the health dip shown here. And mech heals itself a lot less than others, so if you can survive a damage field, chances are you party's health is barely moving.
    Med5 changes as well as heal on mechF1 talent also provide regen from automated medical response. elixir gun 2 is also swiftness (not as good admittedly).

    @HurricaneLim 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    If you are not tanking and you dont need the on demand blocks from shield then shortbow is perfectly fine. Vigor can be covered with the med kit Infusion Bomb. You can take Supply Crate with the Expiramental Turrets trait and it will keep up regen at 100% combined with your Med Kit. With shortbow skill 3 you still have a range healing skill so you dont really lose much without the mortar kit. Shortbow is usually the better option when you need to be away from the group. One thing I hope ANET changes is the constant blinking of the monk relic on your bar because of the extremely short cooldown. If they could give it a 5s cooldown instead of 3 that would fix it and it wouldnt really change much.

  • @jurare89
    @jurare89 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

    There is two points that i would like to elaborate/clarify a bit more, since that´s often a misconception when judging the difficulty.
    Point 1: micromanagement.
    While on a intensity-level, heal-alac-mech IS indeed the most simple build, you must consider that you have to ACTIVELY manage the mech in many encounters. Since the mech is the source of a lot of your boons (including your beloved alacrity), you must always be aware of WHERE your mech is currently positioned, especially in the moment you press barrier burst or crisis zone (but also for the passive trait mechanical genious, which dropping out of the grace-period will completely obliterate your boon-uptime form the mech). This also means: depending on how good your group moves, WHERE your group moves, and where your MECH moves, you often have to re-position your mech. It´s not difficult to do per se (move to where you want your mech, command it to move to you, job done), but it IS another element that adds to complexity. This particular point is one of the things that seperates "bad healmechs" from "good healmechs" (i´ve seen WAY too many healmechs firing their barrier-burst into nothingness because they cannot manage their mech properly). and wors-case-scenario: due to mismanagement of mech-positioning, your mech dies. While this is extremely unlikely to happen and would require major mistakes on the mech-positioning, in some encounters it IS possible to get your mech killed. And if your mech dies, a large portion of your boons are gone (including, arbitraty number, 90% of your alacrity-uptime and your only stability)
    Point 2: mech-autocast.
    Having F1 on autocast is SOMETIMES a bad thing depending on the situation
    Reason 1: you may not always want your mech to target YOUR target (e.g. when CC'ing adds). if you put F1 on autocast, and yourself swap target to something else, if the F1-autocast overlaps with you targetting a different enemy, your mech will wander off to said enemy. This ALSO overrides the "come to me" pet command, as it is considered a command itself! Which will lose boon-uptime and barrier-uptime on the people that actually stay on the boss.
    Reason 2: this is only a minor one and MOSTLY irrelevant (since these situations happen extremely rarely), but since your F1 acts as a self-heal for medical dispersion field, you obviously want to use it on cooldown (that´s why ppl usually set it on autocast in the first place). so if you want to maximize your passive healing, you would want to cast F1 as often as possible. The mech-AI however will NEVER interrupt an auto-attack-chain in order to use explosive knuckle, IF it is set to autocast (it will always finish the auto-chain before autocasting F1). Casting F1 manually however will interrupt the auto-attack-chain (but NOT other channeled skills).
    While this is mostly irrelevant to heal-mech (because the thing you care about is the modified auto-attacks to generate might), this DOES combine badly into reason 1. Due to autocast, you cannot use F1 reliably to reposition your mech in case you need to change target. (Note: this issue affects conditon-mech far more, since the bleed from F1 is more valuable than the passive bleed from the autos)
    This problem is even worse if for whatever insane reason you set ALL of your mech-commands on autocast. The AI will NEVER autocast F2 while it is doing something different already (it will not autocast until your mech'S auto-chain is completed, and it will never autocast crisis zone during barrier burst, even though it is completely possible to do so without downsides). Especially crisis zone should NEVER be set to autocast (since it´s your on-demand aegis and stability), but barrier-burst should ALSO NEVER be set to autocast (since this can result in barrier burst completely missing your allies if you don´t position your mech properly before it gets cast, which is VERY easy to happen if you play that way).

    • @xezzee
      @xezzee หลายเดือนก่อน

      I just keep auto-cast on all times except highly specific roles like Dhuum Alac Kite or HAM Pylon or when you need to control the F2 for stability ❤
      As DPS both Power and Condi:
      Fractal CMs 96-100 Auto-Casting Commands.
      Strike CMs AH, XJJ, KO and OLC Auto-Casting Commands.
      Raid CMs Soulless Horror, Dhuum, Twin Largos, Qadim 1, Adina, Sabir and Qadim 2 Auto-Casting Commands.
      Even as HAM I just keep auto-cast on. Gorseval being one fight where I might use F2 manually.
      After 500hours I really don't see the point not doing so. The dps loss is so minor compared to forgetting to use commands that on long run you do more damage overall for less effort when using auto-cast 😂 and on Heal The Alac won't be the problem. Your weapons gives barrier which is Alac. At worst The Mech gives boons to a tree before joining The fight and it used F3 and then F2 keeping the cooldowns lined up 😂
      Then again I do tend to run all Signet Spear wielding Condi Mech on Raids with auto cast on while pressing 32590 on cooldown for easy Li build that does a lot of damage 😂

    Healmech is pretty cut and dry. Some of the scrapper shenanigans I mentioned apply here, but the actual mechanist line is immutable.
    Karakosa is okay, but honestly, with less focus on blast finishers, you can run monk or even dwayna.
    When tanking on mech, I sometimes run defender relic, since healmech doesn't heal itself that much.
    The change to AMR now makes shortbow compatable with Mech, and shortbow healmech is probably the only one who runs it.

    On ham sb you gain:

    - Better healing and condi cleanse
    You lose:

      I think it has to do with the quickness synergy it provides (aka more fields and explosions). It's a rather busted combo, and one that I love exploiting(as long as ANet doesn't find out about this oversight and removes it). Keep in mind that you DO NOT HAVE ANY TOOLBELT SKILLS IF YOU SLOT THE SIGNETS, so if you want to keep using elixir gun's healing mist, simply equip it and use the TB skills that you would use on scrapper or holosmith for it.

    Ugh... Mortar kit... You slot a kit for a single skill that would be barely worth a regular utility skill slot. And then imagine your mech dies, because you're doing Sunqua Peak CM, and somebody hugged a shade or failed CC on one of the adds, with mistlock seemingly saving you, but making you about as useful as you would be if you were downed the moment the group needs you the most.
    Also mace 2 is a leap, and it has to be spammed off cooldown. At this point in time I wish ANet would just delete all leaps/charges from the game that aren't ground targeted, because there wasn't a single situation in my entire 5 years playing the game when such leaps were useful, but dozens of times when they killed me, either because the target moved (98CM), died (any trash mob in any situation close to edges), or because there is an invisible wall between me and my target which results in basically random movement out of safe zones into 1-shots (Conjured Amalgamate).
    I'm watching this series of yours, and none of the builds sound enjoyable. For DPS I can work out a build on almost any profession (the exception being warrior) that suits my needs and performs adequately (i.e. good enough DPS to do raid and fractal CMs), but with healers there is always some awkward gimmick or unnecessary inconvenience that you can't avoid if you want to be able to perform to the expected minimum standard. Case in point with the above rant about dead mech or mace 2 leap vs. kitless scrapper or both power and condi mechs. Same with condi Tempest where I can just camp fire attunement and pump out 35k DPS while doing a whack-a-mole rotation. But if I try the same with heal tempest in water attunement, I'd be kicked from the group, because no might and no fury. And the same is true for all other professions.

      @@Alphenis Yeah, fire overload, which you don't have when you're in water attunement. That's the entire point, comparing the effectiveness of DPS while camping a single attunement vs. healing in a single attunement and showing that the latter is not effective at all.

      if your mech dies in any encounter, you are a horrible heal-mech player. just from the barrier it applies to itself (while the skills and traits do have a target-cap of 5, the mech itself does NOT count toward that target cap for barrier burst and explosive knuckle, while being lower priority than your teammates when it comes to boon-application in general), and the passive regen and healing it gets naturally, there should NEVER be a situation where your mech dies.
      If you even remotely pay attention to where your mech stands (which is one of the fundamental basics of ANY mechanist-build), your mech will NEVER die.

      @@jurare89 Have you ever done 99CM on a mech? Because, yes, he will die in the situation I described, because it's a 1-shot, and it doesn't even depend on you whether it happens, but on the other players in your group.

      And then a small champion bunny spawns and bites your mech once.
