Thanks, I wouldn't consider myself to be an AK expert yet but I'm learning. I went shoot the other day and I swear my AK was more accurate than my AR15 (5 shots in a quarter at 50 yards with a red dot). Now I'm starting to learn about the more historic and collectible aspects.
Picked up one of these at the local flea market 03/17/2024. Has the number "41'' on it. Cant find any others online with the number 41 on them so I'm not sure if this one is a real or fake. Anyone know anything about ones with 41 on it please let me know.
I picked them up for about $50 and $139 for the 40 rd. Not cheap for sure, but I'm happy to get them while they are still available. Jestice Arms and GunBroker.
I have a silly question to ask in here. If Bakelite AK Magazines are hard to find and expensive, how come no magazine company have made any to bring the price down? I am willingly to pay $25.00 per mag.
Love these mags
They cost $4 usd to buy in Russia, so I've heard.
Pretty nice looking mags. Really makes the AK pop👍
Yeah they look pretty nice, especially if you have some wood furniture to go with it.
Wish I could go back and buy aks and bakelites in the early 2000s instead of messing around in elementary school
That’s exactly how I feel about not buying a home in 2009 after the housing crash…
@@werunguns I can’t speak about that without falling into a crippling depression
Bakelite sounds like food. I want to bite those candy bars
Mine were used and marked by the Chechyn Mujahadeen
Thermo-reactive plastic AG-4S and AG-4V (термо-реактивная пластмасса АГ-4С и АГ-4В): bakelite + fiberglass.
Good find! Thanks for the info. I don't know much about the ins and outs of the AK world.

Bakelite looks great on correct russian red and bulgarians.
"Correct" omfg what a snob
Nice 👍🏼, definitely will look great in any AK47.
javier diaz agreed!
I believe your two “4th Gens” in the middle are actually 3rd Gens if you look at the front
NICE! What are the prices on these, and where did you purchase them?

We Run Guns Ya, Jestice Arms has some good deals on almost all AK mags! Had a few orders with them w no issues.
We Run Guns how long did it take you to receive them?
Just purchased a 30 rd bake light UT30 . I think its crylic. Purchased for 80.00. Did some research , I know it’s last generation.
@@werunguns Just picked up (7) of the 30rd from DK Guns for $47.95/ea , so I finally have some of these! They sold 980 of them within 5 hours!
Phenol formaldehyde resin is bakelite according to the internet.

Interesting question, perhaps they like the history behind them
There's probably an excellent answer that I do not know.... lol
Because they would cost too much to manufacture these days for them to be under even a $50 price point
11B Retired because it’s the value and the history nobody wants us ak products like nobody wants Russian ar15 parts
Thermosetting phenol formaldehyde resin *IS* bakelite
I found some on a russian website for 10 - 20 $ I might try to get some to the states😂
Is it stupid for me to want to actually run one of these as my main mag?
Just make sure it’s not all rusted inside after you open it up. Test it at the range a few times and then you should be good to go.
With the 40 round mags I see a couple like air bubble type spots on magazine... what do you suppose that is?
Hmm I didn't notice that. I'll have to take a look
2019 - they are rolling $150 on GunBroker..!!
Wonka Chocolates No way! I’m curious to see how the upcoming 2020 presidential race will affect prices as well
150 for one . Hmmm
@@werunguns *oops*
Found a source online selling for $32 for Izhevsk and $35 for Tula.
You the plug
