Yes- let’s get it to the way it was when Deshaun played in the late 90’s. The Bruins were relevant with Cade McNown & Deshaun etc.That’s a goal and a vision we need to attain. Compete, no matter who they play. Deshaun needs to keep pushing hard and give it his all in the recruiting front. Go Bruins !!
Since Donahue, every 4 to 5 years, UCLA hires another football coach (nearly the same for basketball). Nothing is changing. He'll be gone in that time frame. It's the program, the fans (it's a pro city), the student body (best public university for academics, not interested in following a football team).
He may grow into being a head coach at some point, but he's clearly not now. And college football is a coach-dominated sport. The coach sets the tone. The coach hires the assistant coaches. The coach organizes who he wants on the team. And Coach Foster is about none of that. He's a good guy. He's that older player/teammate who can explain the ropes to a rookie. But he's not a coach, who takes responsibility for the direction of the team, the decisions of the team, and the output of the team. I think UCLA is going straight to the bottom fifth of the B18 this season. UCLA has NIL and could be the Northwestern of Los Angeles. But they need a leader. Badly.
How's a dude with ZERO charisma going to harness the media limelight and buzz to create what he's talking about? I'd prefer some 90-year-old coach who runs the triple option, but who will get his linemen run blocking!! Horrible.
I’ve been saying this!! As a die hard UCLA fan. Foster just doesn’t have that energy for me! He also gives “tryna be your friend” vibes or “try and make everyone happy” vibes rather than a coach who is a true motivator. To me he just does NOT have that presence!
Dude thinks that exposure and buzz will fix things in Westwood. It won't. This program is a joke. You turn things around by working hard in and out of season ... by out working and out preparing your opponents. You win in college by going back to smash-mouth football, and developing off that -- by doing what Foster's high school coach did at Tustin! Foster is going to be a terrible hire. This is an easy call.

UCLA was always in the top 10 bcs schools in the 50’s and 60’s, competing for a national tittle in 1954. UCLA went undefeated a record four times (1964, 1967, 1972, and 1973). UCLA remained in the top10 till 2006. UCLA went to shit when Dan Guerrero hired Rick Neihiesul as head coach. Rick made ucla soft!!
