    So glad I found your channel! At 60 years old I just figured out I am an INFJ and it explains so much, and is so helpful to know this. "Done, not perfect" is a great mantra. I have avoided trying so many things in life because I know I will not do them well, or master them. This is especially true with art-type endeavors. Just need to quit overthinking so much, and just do it! Thanks so much for your insight and great communication style! Looking forward to your next video.

      Thank you so much! I am so glad the video (and channel) has helped you :) Yes, with art, TH-cam, any endeavor really - I think all of us INFJs benefit from taking action over making things perfect. Thanks for your comment, means a lot to me!

      After watching your videos, I finally understand myself. I'm 64 and never knew I had abilities. I thought everyone thought and felt like me. I let my family of toxic people convince me there was something wrong with me. Now I know it was them that were wrong! Thank you so much!

      Done, not perfect...that's wonderful...but...daaaaamn it's so hard. The amount of stress when I do something not perfectly...And it happens so often...and I feel like garbage...but when it's the others, I'm compassionate and tell them it's normal to not be perfect and it's wrong to want to be perfect because you're not allowing yourself the learning curve.

      Yeah, I've literally gone through tons of infj content on the internet and people might think it's to boost my ego saying "I'm the rarest type!" But frankly, no. I learn more and more about infjs so I can actually confirm 100% that I'm an infj and I still get doubts when I feel something that is said that infjs do not feel and then I see another video where it's valid for an infj to feel that or see that

    I'm always researching history and politics and constantly searching for a deeper philosophical meaning. I like to share my thoughts and inquiries, but nobody seems to even understand what I'm talking about. Sometimes my mom is kind enough to listen to my philosophical ramblings, but she's really the only one.

    Number 10 hit me very deeply. And the degree of which you explained that point, especially doubting whether or not I truly am an INFJ, felt like a revelation. The over-analyzing, the desperation for evidence to prove to myself if am, or am not, an INFJ, and the perfectionism that regardless of the mountain of information that I rummage through, it doesn't feel like it's enough to be right.
    That point was intense. And strangely enough, it had brought me some inner peace. Very interesting!

    • @INFJcircle
      @INFJcircle  ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I"m glad this helped you Ryan. The perfectionism and overthinking combined with distrusting our intuition makes it tough for us to believe. But I actually think that is a great sign you are INFJ, so add that to the evidence pile. Thanks for the comment, means a lot :)

    I spent that whole video just stoically nodding along until the last one, then I actually burst out laughing 'cuz...GUILTYYYY! lol
    I explained the inner life of an INFJ to my INFP mother as...some mbti types see their life as if through a telescope, some like they're reading a map; but INFJs go through life like we're rowing a boat. We can't always see where we're going, but we are pretty good at navigating by the stars (our principles/philosophy/inner Truth) so we don't really mind that we can't necessarily see EXACTLY where we're going (low/unconscious SE.)

Like, I totally believe in reincarnation, but I am NOT coming back to this planet I don't care what they try to tempt me with - it's not worth it. I have made sure my loved ones know that I love them and I have been a responsible human, so when I finally shuffle off this mortal coil, I REFUSE to put on another meat suit for this rock. HARUMPH!!

    I thought i just had low self esteem, but now that i think about it- i still feel like I'm not an INFJ because they're so rare and i don't feel that special(i skipped two steps in my thinking whoops). I also don't know myself that well, but the part about self perfectionism and overanalyzing really was something I think was me. Maybe it's just me wanting to be special, because I'm pretty sure infps also seek perfectionism, so I'm not sure:(. I like writing here because I have no one else to talk about mbti with, so it's just nice to write down my feelings, even if no one will read it!

    A few days ago I got called out by one person in a group, that I am always asking how they feel or what they want (because I kind of chameleon and truly care more about what they want and the harmony in the group and etc. etc.). And that one person asked me with an slightly annoyed undertone asked. "So. And what is that you want to do?".... My brain was overwhelmed and I was at a loss for words. I stood there not saying a word and really thinking to my self what I would choose but I couldn't figure it out. Sometimes I feel like that tewking my personality to others annoys many people. I don't want to belive that I am an infj, probably because I still haven't researched the mbti enough to make that decision.
    *Damn I posted this comment when you said, that I am not allowed to make a decision of my own in some situations. And now I have seen your last point about doubting about being an infj. I am thinking way to much about what to write further. I am slightly overehelmed

    I have identified with the INFJ type for a while now (3 yrs, so help me) and this is a better one of these videos.
    I'm not saying it's perfect and definitely don't type yourself off this but it can be a good starting point.
    Mainly why i dislike these videos is because other types can easily relate to some of these points. Eg. The first one absorbing people emptions, this would be attributed to INFJ's aux funtion Fe (almost soley) which ISFJ has plus since this is an Fe EXFJ would also relate to it. Same with no. 6, this is a social introvert tendancy not cognitive (which is the basis of MBTI). Therefore, INFJ who are socially extroverted (which there definitely are), won't relate to this as strongly. Cognitive introversion (which INFJ's have due to being an introverted type), is where you spend your energy/ time which in this case is inward (reflecting, theorising), while cognitive extroverts prefer to expend there energy outwardly.
    Thankyou for your time.
    PS. I'm really sorry if this came off aggressive I just wanted to share my thoughts 😅

    Excellent video as usual! I would add that we don't lie very often, though, due to our mirroring of others to make them comfy, we may be accused of it. We may assume that if someone is wonderful 95% of the time, the 5% of the time when they act like a monster was just them having a bad day. After all, we wouldn't be faking it 95% of the time, so why would anyone else do so? Thus, we give second and third and fourth chances. Ime, almost all of the time, that person you see 5% of the time is the real one, and we need to face those red flags before we get badly hurt. It took me until way too late in life to trust my intuitive doubts about people, so maybe that was just me. I wonder if other INFJs agree....

    • @INFJcircle
      @INFJcircle  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh I agree completely. The old quote, "when people show you who they are, believe them" is so true here. We should just take people as they present themselves to us and not make excuses. Great point!

      @@INFJcircle - I'm glad it's not just me, but also sad that others are being hurt the way I have been. We also seem to attract people with certain serious personality disorders, or at least those of us INFJs who are also empaths seem to do that. Opposites attract, and we have enlarged amygdala, while they have smaller than normal ones.

    • @INFJcircle
      @INFJcircle  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree. We attract some really strange people, and often they are sociopaths or narcissists. We need to learn to identify these people and get them away from us ASAP. I also agree we are very much more "emotional" than most, and I mean that in a good way. We consider others feelings whereas many do not.

      The deeper/extreme end of this propensity to mirror dishonest or abusive individuals when they've isolated us and they're the only individuals around for us to grow or coach or raise, is a concept called "reactive abuse"... they abuse... we endure until we can't anymore, we abuse back... they accuse us of abuse... and since we're shocked at what we've done and also honest, there's a very real risk of basically absorbing the actual culpability for the entire thing before we even know what happened. Lies and abuse are kryptonite, our righteous indignant outrage has the power to level others, and some of them *want* us to punish them so we can accept their spiritual debt as well. There are one of two perspectives: reactive abuse is justified, but you're simply better at it, and carry the power of truth which the entire Universe will conspire to help you render against dishonesty and cruelty, making you look at fault to a world that can't comprehend cause and effect the way you do (all the jerks who think you're making stuff up?) so you're better off identifying abusers early and slamming that door,..... or.....reactive abuse is still abuse, and you'll end up internalizing that fundamental fact as guilt, until you're somebody's sin-eater, and that sense of righteousness you were born with is gone, so you're better off identifying abusers early and slamming that door.
      The thing is: two things can be true at once. Reactive abuse is abuse, and they asked for it, out of ignorance of your abilities they didn't plan for, or awareness of your abilities that they *have* planned for, and either way: you must identify abusers early, consider how badly they'll inevitably treat all the other beings you're meant to help, visualize them treating your favorite little helpless person the way they've treated you, and let that be the power with which you slam that door. If you feel that "why would they do that" feeling, and all that comes back is "cruelty", slam. the. door. There are spectacular people who would never make that mistake. The risk to you is too great. Why do you think we're rare? Think about it. xoxo

    Constantly got typed as different Mbti types and I didn’t realize why my personality was so complicated and why I was constantly getting mistyped until I learned about INFJ, I am struggling to believe I actually am an INFJ seeing as I’ve given up on the idea of being perfect and I’ve sorta just given up on trying due to depression and other mental factors. I constantly get distracted because of my adhd and struggle to get tasks done I was never the one who excelled in school I was quite the opposite I failed because I refused to learn the boring subjects because I wanted to learn something I was genuinely interested in. I am constantly analyzing my behavior and the way I act I can pick up on others emotions easily and get overstimulated way too easily. Another thing I find troubling to actually believe I’m an INFJ is the fact that I’ve tried helping so many people but have gotten nothing in return and because of this I’ve withdrawn and slowly given up because I feel as tho no one truly cares I don’t know if this is a trait of being an INFJ but honestly I need fellow INFJ’s to explained to me whether they think I may be an INFJ or not. I’m so confused…

    It’s actually quite funny, I didn’t know that I was a INFJ or the MBT, I always kinda knew that I have a very good sense of intuition and read people very well. However, I have a psychologist I see now, as I’m recovering from a brutal narcissistic abuse, my psychologist gave me the test and results were a INFJ and then I took another, I think, 5 tests only online and the results were again INFJ, when I read to what is really meant I was blown away with the accuracy of my personality. And of course, we are the most rare. And I still think, to this day, that I’m not that special??? I sometimes think that I might be narcissist myself because sometimes my chameleon nature, but my psychologist has ensued me, that I’m definitely not. But what I don’t understand is; if we’re that rare, why they are so many videos about INFJ’s, more than any other personalities? Some people envy of INFJ’s but it’s not really that fantastic to be a INFJ. That is my thought.

    Excellent, and spot on, although I hate that expression.You nailed it. I think you may have convinced that INFJ traits do not emerge in lock step throughout the stages of life, and that you may be an INFJ as a result of the experience of your entire career. At age 75, everything you say rhymes true, but 35 years ago I was not INFJ.

    I took the tmbi a few years ago and realized I needed to take it again because I sensed I was in my coping mechanism when I answered the questions. Especially the question that asked "if at a party, do you leave early or are you the last one to leave? My wife is almost always the last one to leave, so I end up staying with her. When I rethought the question, I realized I wouldn't have even gone to the party in the first place.

    All or nothing. Yes. Didn't know that about myself, so thank you. But, yeah ... My family is mostly "What's the point. It's good enough. It doesn't have to be perfect." They don't like plans, they don't like follow through, nor completion. So to them "making a room nice" is putting some kind of furniture in it that will work and giving a mild nod to decoration, or painting the walls, but never mind that the furniture is uncomfortable. It's "good enough" and "will all have to be redone soon, anyway." And, I am like "Let's do it. Let's have a plan before we go to the store. Let's get it done right. Let's get it done all the way and let's do it in a way where we won't want to or have to change anything until and unless it breaks or is worn out after 15-20 years."
