I had to do the same thing when I had one on the mill lathe. Those things are surprisingly hard. A grinder was all that would touch it. I also ruined a bandsaw blade on one. Looks good! All the best!
hi Peter You've definitely blown the warranty🤣🤣 they must be good quality if you can't drill them!! Nice to see it back up and running see you next time cheers Kev
G’day Peter. Nice work mate. I think I’ve got the same angle grinder as you. Ryobi Bunnings special 😆. You need one of those DRO’s like Matty fitted. Cheers 🍻
When I had my mill-drill I did something similar but I must have had cheap crap calipers given that mine could be drilled with cobalt drills. For the price they can't be beat for quill gauges though!
Looks good, but how long is the life of the battery? I find the battery life to be rather short, but with that being a semi permanent fixture you could rig an electrical power supply from a wall wart wired into the power supply for the motor, so that it was on when ever the mill was in use. This would cut down on buying a lot of batteries, especially since they go out just when you need them. Looking forward to the next video. Ron
G'day Ron. I get between 8 to 12 months out of the batteries and there's 3 batteries all up, I have been thinking about an external power supply but haven't got there yet. Good to hear from you, cheers. Peter
I followed your series. Very interesting. Allot of work you’ve put in to it. Turned up great.
Worked out good Peter. The slots did the job. Cheers Rob
Thanks Rob. Cheers Peter
A good job done there Peter... the grinder did a good job...
No workshop should be without one, very handy tool. Cheers Peter
Gday Peter, this worked out well, great fix, cheers
G'day Matty. Yes quick and easy fix. Cheers Peter

G'day Eddie. They certainly are hardened stainless, good thing the grinder doesn't care. Cheers Peter

G'day Kev. No they're cheap and I've broken drills and taps on these calipers before. Cheers Peter

G'day Aaron. I've had a great run with their 18V range so decided to give their 240V a go and it was cheap also. Cheers Peter
Good job Peter 👍
Thanks Aaron. Cheers Peter

G'day Everett. No these were both cheap calipers but I don't have cobalt drills. Cheers Peter
