Nice job Peter. Always a good feeling to fix something that many would just replace. You ever try a solder sucker? I use them on pcb boards and they work great. Much easier than trying to pull the wires free. They often leave a clean pad as well. They are really cheap too.

Great job Peter ! I think that USB cables were designed by someone that hates machinists 🤣 The only thing I hate more is crimping DuPont fittings on and I believe these were designed by the same person as above or a close relative !
G'day Ian. I'm from the old school when wire guage was measured by the size of fencing wire but wires today are so small it's hard to strip the insulation without striping strands of wire with it, so delicate, at least my hands are still fairly steady. Cheers Peter
