Yup, he has his Reign In Blood to Divine Intervention type voice here, (I love Hell Awaits, it's one of the albums that gave birth to Death Metal along with other evil-vibed thrash bands like Possessed and Dark Angel) but his voice while great, is often full of reverb and other effects, nothing against that of course, they were going fully shock value then, and well, a remaster of the Haunting The Chapel EP would be welcome before making that much of a definitive statement. (By the way, they play this one, Captor of Sin, but I've never ever, seen them live or on internet videos play Haunting The Chapel, the song, I think it's pretty great, one of the first slayer songs I learned the riffs of (my cousin threw me a bunch of internet printed tabs and it wasn't necessarily the most obvious songs he gave me from most bands).
Bostaph’s beating the shit out of those drums. I know he gets a bunch of talk smack on him but he can deliver and he did do his best during these times.

Y'know that amazing drum fill that Bostaph did after the 6 or 7 tak-tak-tak at the beginning of Raining Blood? well actually, Lombardo, who was much more into his "job" (if you're a musician and you succeed at getting food on your table and have a car and money to put gas in it, you should stop with the greed, as you've made it as realistically as possible, it's not supposed to feel like a job) back then...Lombardo actually did that in the Seasons tour, see the really awesome performance of Raining Blood/Black Magic from 1991, it's one of the oldest high quality Slayer video I saw on the internet as early as 2000 when I got cable modem and used some kind of napster fork that worked for other files than mp3's..it's before kazaa(lol, the virus machine, if you didn't know what you were doing)...it was called Scour I think. Anyways, it's easily found here, the crowd is insane, the performance itself is driving the crowd, as Tom and other great bands said should always be the case, the other member is the crowd, and if you go to see a band you like and keep quiet way at the back, you should stay home (not you personally, I doubt you'll ever see that, you wrote that in 5 years ago when Jeff wasn't dead yet...now I'm sad).
