it takes about 10 minutes to learn how to double edit I've seen clips of people shooting at the sky and complaining at why they're dying its not a PvE game its pvp you're supposed to fight
Getting a win without bots felt so good, every engagement was meaningful, now it’s a pile of bots that just face charge you and beg to die. You play for 15 minutes of no real players to finally find a real person. There’s almost a million players on it. Such a waste. People wanted OG, hard freaking games and getting clapped till you became the clapper was all part of the journey and reward. Taking out bots gives no rewards
Agreed dude. I got 9 wins last night with my college buddies. It was fun, but it wasn’t rewarding as the people were barely shooting back. I hope epic make changes.
Back in the day getting clapped was indeed part of the progress, but the reason most people didnt mind because to get good enough to compete yourself back in the day wasnt really too difficult as the game was fairly new and the skill gap relatively low. If you we're to come back to the game now after pretty much not playing since 2018-2019 for example, u literally have 5 years of skill progression to catch up too. Believe it or not, most people don't want to put the time in to get good enough to compete with current day players.
SBMM will forever be the worst feature in Fortnite. It ends up punishing the average player the most out of anyone. It ends up being an endless seesaw, where one moment you're put in a lobby filled with bots, to suddenly playing in an Unreal Ranked match. It's very rare SBMM lands in that sweet spot everyone is at an equal level. I also think the inclusion of bots is detrimental. I don't want to drop a 20 bomb and only 5 of the kills were actually real people. People say to just play ranked, but bots are also in ranked. I've played Platinum and Diamond ranked games through our Chapter 5 this year, and still face bots. Lastly, I also just think there's been a huge mindset shift. People have this mentality that the only way they can have fun is by winning. People are completely incapable of having fun nowadays without winning. There's more to the game besides winning every match.
Couldn’t have said it better myself. Back in chapter 1, I was satisfied with a top 10 finish, but it seems now even top 2 doesn’t satisfy people and leads to them complaining, I hate this whole mindset of the win should be handed to people instead of them having to get better at the game for it too.
SBMM was necessary, the skill gap between causal and competitive/super actives players is far to big the game is just straight up no enjoyable for most players. Not the biggest fan of the bots but if it's to fill the lobbies and keep people playing it fine.

I didn't even play OG when it first returned, too busy IRL. All that said, I'm pretty much a below average player because of how little I've played the game since 2019. I don't ever remember the early days having such a high skilled playerbase on average. SBMM might not have needed to exist then, but it should now. Just not in the way Epic is doing it. It looks like average players get screwed over because if they have a good game -> straight to unreal lobbies. If they die off spawn -> straight into brain-turned-off bot lobbies. I don't want to play with bots because the game feels bad for me, I just want to play with people that are close to my own skill so that every fight feels like it could go either way (which I know is a pretty unrealistic expectation but 2017-2019 fortnite captured that perfectly) SBMM is an issue but I think it just comes down to it being poorly done. Bots on the other hand probably shouldn't exist at all, or if they do, make them smarter so some sort of actual fight happens because every bot kill is just hold left click, they don't move out of the way or anything, they are such easy kills. Best solution: Turn off turbo builds & keep zero build free of bots and lessen the impact of SBMM significantly. Then add an actual play with bots mode for people who solely just want to turn their brain off sometimes idk.
That’s because people treat zero build like it’s the plague and refuse to play it. I’m talking to the people forcing themselves to play builds, as you do need to get better to play that mode. Also as a day 1 player zero build is 1000% better, I don’t get the hate.

But I want there to be some sort of middle ground. Because I’m either in complete bot lobbies where I can go on a 10 game win streak or I can’t even get top 50.
@ well for me who is not very good I played for 2 hours in a total of like 15 games roughly and constantly placed around 60th place most people will not want to continue after that I know I certainly don’t, this was after the sbmm and bot update btw so our experiences are way different
Remove SBMM and bots there was nothing wrong with the game yesterday had games where we had good and bad players and made every game fun to play. Now cause SBMM being in the game now we are stuck with the pro players
Yep, sick of people complaining about no SBMM when that’s how it was back in OG Fortnite. You ask for OG, you get OG. Epic has made this impossible to play.
There is many things wrong it’s not OG it’s trash
My guy, i think its ppl like you who're the problem, if u wanna play competatively fine but dont complain when other ppl arent as good as you bro "you have to get good if you wanna play the game" is such a sad statement
But I don’t want to play competitively? Where is this coming from? I want to have fun and play with my friends after getting home from college, and SBMM puts us against pro players because we are good at the game. You can’t hate people for being good at video games dude.
sbmm is good, bots isnt
nothing wrong with bots in OG
SBMM is the bigger problem, but bots is a part of it
Imagine playing and having up to 90 bots in a game. You’re wasting your time and playing pve
It's pvp, not pve
we want pvp battle royale not player vs ai
