Let's be very clear on a couple of things: 1. The tax-paying PUBLIC PAYS for those public beaches 2.The homeless do NOT pay taxes....EVER. Hence, ultimately, they REALLY DO NOT have a right to enjoy them. Pay taxes...and you have the right to enjoy them. 3. Referring to #2 above - they certainly DO NOT have the right to LIVE on the beaches and make them their "home".
The primary change needed here is linked to reshifting the"homeless identity,'' as housing is just a basic need, not a driving force personality need. Historically, the identity of "city settlers" drove many Americans to leave home and resettle, but has since been socially deconstructed and 'unhoused' in America, despite once pioneering California's thriving livelihood.
None of his issues are going to be solved in the sand. And the church will give me more food. He can go to his city council member and explain himself too.

@sally-i6i No, I've never lived in a shelter. But like they say, beggars can't be choosers. Maybe if they don't like the conditions in a shelter, they will turn their lives around and become productive members of society. So, is your answer to put them in hotels for the rest of their lives? What happens if they destroy hotel rooms? Who pays for all this ? How much are you willing to pay in taxes to put all the homeless in hotel rooms? Many of the homeless are in their 20s,30s, or 40s. Are you going to feed, clothes, provide medical care, and pay for their housing for the rest of their lives ? Somebody has to pay. I don't think it's fair to make the hard-working people of society, many that are living paycheck to paycheck and struggling themselves, and who have made good choices in life pay for people who have made bad choices and are doing nothing to better their lives. I'm all for helping people get back on their feet, but they have to want to help themselves. The easier you make it for them, the less incentive they to turn their life around . They should be grateful that there are shelters and they are fed .
