I started watching Kobe since I was a kid, I watched him for 20 years, 20 fucking years! The moment he retired, it was sad, but I was also happy for him, because I know him would be successful outside of court with his mentality. I love him, he is my hero, he is also my idol. Every time I play basketball, I would think that I am Kobe on the court. And he taught me so much more outside of playing basketball, about being a man. Honestly I remember showing this to my girlfriend, and she wasn't in any way a basketball fan but I am. I think she knew how much it meant to me when Kobe retired. It honestly felt like the end of my childhood, the end of what I remember what it was like growing up in Los Angeles.
