Yeah based on some of the voting it’s clear people just want to vote in their team’s guys. Every team has at least one representative though so we’ll see at least one Met there.
I agree. I'm so tired of seeing players get hurt over irrelevant events. Besides like you mentioned, it's all popularity nonsense. We truly know who our allstars are!
@@JacobSnyder-dd3lyIt’ll be a tall task for the Mets to win a Quintana-Imanaga matchup. We’ll see if they can pull it off. Would hate to lose two in a row right after having all that momentum.
The Mets best players this year have been Francisco Alvarez (team tanked when he got hurt), J.D. Martinez (clutch hitting and ~.300 AVG), and on the pitching side Severino. I am not sure any of them have done enough compared to peers in the NL to warrant a start, but since we have to pick one to represent the team I would want to see one of these players that would actually be able to make a contribution to the game, have interesting stories for the commentators to weigh in on, and are exciting to watch. All the other vets have warts this year (although Lindor has picked it up).
In my opinion, we do not have any players who deserve the all-star game, but if I had to pick these would be my picks 👇🏽 Garrett Servino Marte Torrens JD Martinez Bauder The core players have not been good up until this win streak, again my opinion 🙌🏽
Considering we share a city with the most popular team on the planet and 61%(scientifically proven) of our fan base hates their own favorite team I don’t think fan voting will get anyone into the starting role and probably why we haven’t had a starter since 2016
No deserving all star on this squad. Unfortunately..... Lindor is finally playing well.....but you simply cannot disregard the first two months that his performance was non-existent. I would honestly say that the closest the Mets have to being an all star would actually be Vientos. This kid was repeatedly thrown to the wolves because the brass refused to accept that Baty struggles against big league pitching. Vientos has done a nice job and showed a worthy bat in some big situations.
All star games is for the fans. With the Mets having not a great year they will probably only get 1 player on the team. Lindor started ice cold this season. As a result I would not be surprised that Pete Alonso being the pick. Alonso has the name which is a selling power and he would most likely be the choice.
Please enlighten me, because I feel like I'm listening to a broken record hearing about Baty's hits in AAA. We all know from pods droning on how he hits in AAA. He comes to the majors for three seasons straight and cannot perform to expectations. That being said, what makes them think moving him from 3rd base to 2nd is the magic potion? 🤔
@goldenchild14 I get their thinking, but Baty has been with the organization since 2019. He's been up to the majors three consecutive seasons with the same results. We can always get a "real" second baseman, if need be. (Don't forget that Mauricio is in the wings.) Double plays are the "meat and potatoes" of a quick inning. Baty is not good at fielding hard hit balls.
No met deserves to go. But since someone has to go ... It probably should be Lindor. JD, Vientos didnt play enough. Rest of the mets dont have good year overall inclduing Lindor
All Star game is just a popularity contest. No need for our boys to go. We need everyone healthy for the second half of the season.

Best way to start the morning!!
Nevermind hearing we’re sending out Quintana, McGill and Peterson just ruined my morning.

Imanaga's ERA goes from 1.89 to 2.96! Mets are ace destroyers. LFGM!!

How about LINDOR, ALONSO, JD MARTINEZ and SEVERINO???
All in with JD!
Lindor .. all the way.

it's not a magic potion, it's to give us an option at 2nd base if we need to send iglesias back or if we really don't want to play mcneil on 2nd

I'm pretty sure in Chicago we will lose 2 games of three

Nimmo????? Are you kidding?
Mets fans don’t love lindor that why lol 😂
Wtf cares? AS game is a ridiculous stupid waste of time, money and resources.
The All star game and selection sucks
Nobody cares about an all-star appearance.
