HAHAHA! I have that Gucci sister! Mine is green exterior, same interior, except missing the AC shelf. My seatbelts are green. I have the 304 V8, missing the AC pump. My side mirrors are different style. Maybe because yours is European? Your hood nose emblem is not Gucci. Gucci has a golden insect. Have not been able to find one, or see a photo of Gucci orginal. And my headliner was disintegrating upon purchase. Have not been able to locate another salvage decent headliner, or the GG logo material. Only 2500 made this year! And about the same for 1972. Rare car, especially with V8. Just running engine in USA worth about $1600. Keep it out of weather! Door seals not available. And most glass is "unobtainium". Fender emblems worth a fortune! Most all parts very hard to find. Especially sheet metal. Interior, again unavailable. You have a gem there! Someone in Switzerland came to USA auction, paid $20,000 for excellent, 20 thousand mile Gucci Sportabout, and took it back, about 10 years ago.
Great info. It's my dad's car so he knows a lot more about it that me. I know he's spent a fair amount on door window seals recently, but most of the cost was on shipping I believe. I'll give him a heads up to read your comment.
Ive been searching for others for 3 years, came across a green one with a retrofitted 360, but was supposed to be 304 originally. As far as Im aware my hood emblem is original...a bit worn and faded, I have had no problem getting parts so far, just fitted new outer window seals, I even got a 70s dodge gas tank filler grommet that fits perfect.....most parts are common to all sportabouts/hornets/gremlins and later concord/eagle models, and mechanical parts are shared throughout the AMC range...rockauto have been great for this. Interior material is available from SMS, but needs to be sewn together into the seat design pattern, I recently had a local guy repair my seat. my mirrors are uk aftermarket....original ones were shot, as were the 3 part seatbelts, so I replaced them with modern red ones. Im not much of a purist and will do upgrades if needed for reliability or safety, but will keep as much originality as I can, next job is to fit a jeep fuel filter and return fuel line to help out with my vapour lock problem
... Of all things, I am going to look at a running, driving, stopping 1973 AMC hornet Gucci Sportabout on Christmas Eve ... ... It may be my Christmas present to myself ... 🎄⛄🇺🇸
@@GT.Bugger ... Yes ! ... It's a bit of a project. Its has bumpers, and trim removed, tagged, and stored inside the wagon ... The body is rust & blemish free, and has some primer areas ... So, needs finish prep, then paint & reassembled ... Was reading, of the 44K or so wagons that year, only some 2500 were Gucci's ... Has the gold Gucci badges, and every piece of trim, including the roof rack ... Everything functions too ... 232, one barrel, automatic, tilt wheel with sporty steering wheel & power steering... Iconic Gucci colors, including Gucci print headliner ... All in great condition ... It's white, but found my thought of a near Pea Soup Green or Moss Green, would work good with the interior ... There was two greens offered that year, and may chose one or go with my first thought ... Best regards ...

I spent years of my childhood riding in the back of this piece of junk. My father the accountant had an AMC dealership as a client. Needless to say he bought their......Auto Ranch Wheeling, Wv.
