Part number 6814 is the cheaper version of the center differential. Main difference is 6814 is plastic and 6780 is metal. However, 6814 comes with 50T 52T and 54T spur gears.
Thanks, good tutorial! Just wondering what makes it more "bashable", slipper or differential? :) I see Arrma coming out with center diffs in their bashers and Traxxas usually stays with slipper.
@@shadowdemon5730 For a buggy a slipper is fine, or light low powered 4X4. But running 3s or higher I’d switch to a center differential. It’s also all preference.
The Stampede BL-2S is 6765, and you’ll need 6888X. The number they were giving you is for the Stampede 4x4 VXL, they must of changed the length. Hope that helped
Solid tutorial👍

Please post more videos😢
Can't wait for the Slash diff video. Been wondering if that's a good first step to take with my stock one.
Definitely, smooth acceleration, and less stress on axles.
@@redbanditracing subscribed. Really digging your content!
You guys gonna put sway bar kit on Slash?
@@HighTimesRacing_RC what's the benefit/drawback?
Definitely, it’s going to help on the track.

We’ve been bashing with the slipper for years, never once replaced the pads, or slipper disc.
Exactly, do you expect the center diff to be just as good for bashing??@@redbanditracing
Most definitely! The HOSS does very well bashing and holds up just fine.
You should also put in the 512 XL motor
Eventually
So a center dif is better (preferred) than a slipper clutch?

Hmm I wonder what is better
That’s my question too lol I hope it helps stabilize it mine is wild on 3s almost took out the neighbor’s car 😅
@@TKSHobbyacceleration is usually smoother without slipper. Definitely gonna save on breaking axles.
Hey mate, love your videos! Just subscribed to your page.
Is this upgrade compatible with 2bs system? As the vxl is in the car you are working on.
The 2bs system? Did you mean the BL-2S?
@@redbanditracing Oops, I definitely mean the BL-2S system haha.
The Stampede 4X4 BL-2S is the same as the VXL model minus the electronics, steering/suspension upgrades, and center differential.
@@redbanditracing Cool! Thanks dude.
hey brother do you know the part number for the center drive shaft, my local hobby store keeps sending the wrong one with the part number of 6755

I cant remove/change the spur gear on my BL2s, it seems to be blocked in my the shock tower. Any advice on how to remove it?
Shock tower is part of the rear chassis that you removed to access the center diff. Shouldn’t be anything in the way.
Sorry, theres a bit of the chassis blocking it at the top of the gear.
It squeezes out, bearing may also fight you a bit
I got it out, it just needed to be pushed down about 1/16”
