    I enjoy driving my 2008 type-s, right now I have about 21,500 miles and still have original tires that came with it.

    Great video, TL-S are 🔥. I got a silver one with 3rd cat delete and Dynomax Race Bullet resonator, easy mod that really wakes up the sound. Peace

    The TLX has more horsepower, but they did drop the displacement to 3.0L So, on the initial romp, there is nothing like a naturally aspirated larger engine. That said, 2008 TL Type-S has a 0-60 at 5.5 seconds vs. the 2023 TLX Type-s at 5.1 seconds. (depending on the data source) That's barely noticeable. I wouldn't worry about it!

    The timing belt is not the only expensive thing to service on this thing if you have a stick shift car like I do and the clutch goes That's a $2800 job because you got to drop the whole subframe and support the engine with a special tool That's not fun but other than that It's not too bad

    • @FullThrottleCars
      @FullThrottleCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Im looking at an 08 type s with 170K miles car is stock and its $9955 its gonna be my A to B car not necessarily my daily driver I have a 22 scat and an 06 srt8 grand cherokee I'm just sick of spending money on gas all the time for my V8s

      awesome! it will definitely get better mpg than those. I typically get around 24-25 mpg, but that is a lot of highway driving.

    The cars so much faster in Drive rather than using paddles or bump shift. I’d highly recommend a M3 if you’re looking for something more sporty and faster. E46 is a very fun car for around the same money. I went from a e46 M3 to a tl type s because adulting and getting old but I really miss and prefer the BMW e46 M3. 👍🏼

    • @FullThrottleCars
      @FullThrottleCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It may be faster in auto, but I enjoy using the paddles/bump shift for more engagement. The M3 would certainly be quicker and more of a sports car but it will not have the reliability of the TL and will be more expensive. But if reliability isn’t as important to the buyer then an m3 is a pretty good option.

    • @stevemcvay2220
      @stevemcvay2220 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FullThrottleCars if reliability and cost are high priorities then getting a manual would be a better option too. Driving in the manual setting is suuuper hard on a single clutch transmission. The car also has grade logic control so while using the sequential sport shift it’s learning how you drive and will start to shift in those higher rpm and more aggressive shifts. That’s going to be much harder on the transmission and the reliability will go away quite quickly.

    • @FullThrottleCars
      @FullThrottleCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea that makes sense, but I don’t use it all the time. If it would be used everyday for every mile you drive it could lead to more transmission wear but if you only use it every so often it shouldn’t be that big of a deal.
