    The mercury marauder is super rare. It’s either 1969 or 1970 and there was less than 300 produced each year. That platform is shared with the Lincoln Continental and Ford galaxy 500 custom. The Lincoln and the Ford we’re both fastbacks. I’ve never actually ever seen a Marauder in that body style only in print. Super rare. It’s nightmare fuel just thinking of trying to find parts for it.

    • @whatsaroundthebend
      @whatsaroundthebend  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, parts would be very hard to find! It is the only one I have ever seen. The drive train alone would be very valuable.

    First time I visit your channel; when I love exploration videos I saw something that kinda bother me about your videos.
    It is great that your family goes with you on explorations, but please, please whenever you go to those exploration adventures make sure ALL of you wear good hiking boots or sturdy shoes and long pants, cause that would protect you from any animal bites/ticks, etc. Also, is great to wear gloves and masks, specially when you go inside houses and touch things.
    Don't put yourselves at risk., specially the kids.

      @@whatsaroundthebend I did! And it is awesome that you teach your kids about exploration and old things. Please, take care all of you.
      By the way, did you that there are people that post videos of rock hunting? Specially close to rivers in Montana, Michigan and Arizona. They tend to find them in lake and river shores. It is amazing to see the beauty of some agates, quartz, fossilized wood, fossils,carnelian, garnets, and jasper.

    The TV listing you were looking at was from April of 1986 btw. so Mid 80s to maybe early 90s this place was last lived in. People had those 70s earth tone appliances for a good few decades despite the yucky colors they lasted a long time.

    • @whatsaroundthebend
      @whatsaroundthebend  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Those appliances did last forever! My parents bought one when they first got married in the early seventies, and we just threw it away. I hated to throw away something we had had so long. I believe that house was a man that sometime in the mid 80s. But it could have been a little later.

    The Jeep is a Willy's which dates it back to the early Sixties. hard to tell years as Willy's didn't change much from the Korean War forward. The seats were added later. The original seats were low and VERY uncomfortable. The Green kitchen appliances and the "Youngstown" kitchen tag tell me that this kitchen was redone in the early 1970's.

    That bumpside Ford F100 is from the the early 1970's. I say that because we have two Ford F100's, one is a '63 and the other one is a '64. The body style changed starting in 1970. The '64 was my husband's ride when he was in high school and he's 53. The Mercury Marauder's were awesome!
    We're a Ford family, but I am a MERCURY girl! I'm crazy bout a Mercury! I have a 1992 Mercury Cougar LS that I am the second owner of; it was purchased of the show room floor brand new by the first owner. It's all original and still is in pristine condition, inside and out! My next two Mercury's will be the 1967 Mercury Cougar Eliminator, which was a limited edition model, and then a 1949 Mercury. Ford never should have discontinued the Mercury line. NEVER. A teacher lived in there I'd be willing to bet on that. That old cast iron claw foot tub has really been through it! Dang! You didn that license plate laying on the kitchen sink??? What a great find!

      @@whatsaroundthebend SWEET!!! My husband bought donor bodies with chassis because he is in the process of making the '64 a crew cab with suicide doors (the doors were my idea) that will end up being a 7.3l diesel w/ manual transmission on an F350 frame! As you know, it's the getting there that seems like it takes an eternity. 🤣
      The '63 as it sits, runs and had a full race set up 400 in it my husband built. He scares the 🤬 out of me when he sits it sideways unexpectedly. He thinks it funny as Hell... I do not.
      BTW, are you a member of the Ford vehicles only group
      Slick 60's??? If not, I think you'd like it. This year's Slick Stock, which includes friends in Australia, is in Kansas and will be hosted by one of the guys I grew up with. It's a blast - people and Ford's!
