Saw Buddy live 3 times and for me he's the best ever.
No one to touch Buddy Rich. Not then or never. The king of kings.
🤘🏻🐐
Your right he was too good. Other drummers have to use 10 drums and even then cannot match this guy.
That left hand....out of this world, he was an alien...
I was lucky enough to see him perform and meet him afterwards. He is definitely one of the all-time greats!
I learned to play the drums listening to Buddy Rick's music and seen his videos
Awesome 🤘🏻
Buddy Rich is to drumming what Bruce Lee is to martial arts. There were many before him and even more after him but he's the greatest of them all.
drummer:that speed me: that single stroke roll that he does just kills me so smooth he does that all the time
I remember seeing this on PBS back home in Hawaii in the early 80's. John Williams and the Boston Pops plus Buddy Rich? Endless awesomeness!
I really thought that the drum sets back then sounded like shit, however, the amount of hand speed that Buddy Rich generated using the traditional grip is unlike anything I've ever seen. He was doing things back then, that even some of the greatest drummers of today can't do.
The guys who played with him say it felt like the entire band was being levitated into the air when Buddy revved up his drive on the kit during one of the band's soli sections. I've only heard that same thing being said about two other band leaders: Maynard Ferguson when he was playing lead trumpet and Benny Goodman. This was from Don Menza.
The GOAT !!!! Freak of nature
He was a Vauldville act at like 6 early 30s'
Undoubtedly the best saw buddy Nottingham 1971 absolute legend...
🤘🏻🐐
For sure
I would like to know what you, as a drummer, think of Gene Krupa? How does he compare?
I was waiting for the conductor to turn around and it be J.K. Simmons. “Get me a picture of Spider-Man!!!” If you don’t get the reference you need a neck brace. 😉
You should react to Buddy Rich Drum Solo 1974
Yes
1:58 - Dan Akroyd on Violin.
is john williams director????
John Williams was the musical director and conductor of the prestigious Boston Pops Orchestra ( in his spare time from composing/arranging and performing the most epic hit movie scores since the other GOAT, Max Steiner.).
GOAT
🐐
Even El Estepario "Jorge" Siberiano will say Buddy Rich is the G.O.A.T. and perhaps were Buddy alive today he'd be a devoted fan of El Estep! No doubt.
One of the greatest.
🐐
Yes Neal Peart sec. Danny Carrry 3 rd.
Please React also on Drum Duel - Buddy Rich vs Louie Bellson Thank you so much
