In this video guide I will show you how to mod the new ADO D30C to install a throttle accelerator and also how to unlock the speed limit.
The D30C is a high end new eBike from ADO company that comes with premium looks from its manufacturing design being made as single piece with no visible welds, with just a few exceptions. It has a 1x9 drive train, fast paddle shifter, full hydraulic brakes, in-frame quick removable integrated battery with key lock and a full safety pack with lights and reflectors. The motor is a "250W" planetary geared motor with one way clutch thus develops an average of 4 times more torque than a regular 250W hub motor, while the clutch disconnects it when not used so it doesn't put up any drag.

Hope you read this. I have the same bike, but the display doesn't show a battery percentage for me, only the icon. Is there a way to enable this in the settings menu?
It's nornal. The percentage is only on the LCD test, but not implement in the controller. You can use the VOL - voltage indicator for much more precision in assessment of the capacity.
@@TechTronic9000 Not sure I understand exactly what you mean with LCD test, but I can confirm that i've never even seen the battery percentage on my LCD display whatsoever. While the voltage is a reliable indicator for knowing when the battery is very low, in practice mine is generally floating around 35-37V and a percentage would be preferable even if it indicates wrong half the time when pulling a lot of current.
Then more simpler, there is no % indicator.

Love this video, thank you, I have bought the throttle and the cable to install it. Where does the cable plug into on the control box? And also how do you get into the control box area behind the battery?
The plug will fit directly to a spare controller plug. To reach it you need to take battery out, remove the battery lock and cover and then you will fond the controller.
Thank you, I’ve installed it all now. But I’m getting an E02 code when trying to install activate the throttle, I’m going exactly what you did in your video. Any ideas?
Thanks for this video. Really helpful. Does the throttle works on modes 2 and 3? I know it doesn't work on modes 1, but works on 4 & 5 as shown in the video but you didn't show if it works on modes 2 and 3.
When you get the bike it has "3" modes, with the accelerator it will work assisted in 1&2 with throttle on 3. You can check my other video where I change it to "5" modes and for that you will have 1,2 and 3 assisted while 4&5 will work the same and will be throttle only.

Hi, thanks for this video... interesting and helpful. I am considering buying an ADO DECE 300C -- I live in South Africa where, I believe, there are no restrictions on speeds. Is there a way to unlock the full power but without installing a throttle... so full power works on the assist mode? Thanks, Daniel
On this model, higher power & speed only works when you install the throttle.

3 pins, but only the original ADO throttle has worked from 4-5 models that I have tested.
What is the difference between 300c and d30c ?

Speed unlock works only for accelerator. I'm ~ 1.75m, for you I think it's OK if you switch to a shorter handlebar pipe and maybe use a raiser handlebar.

That happens and it's OK as you hold throttle / brake when starting up. Does it work after you release brake / throttle? Did you use the ADO original throttle?

@@TechTronic9000 Hi, and thx a lot for the video!! I can no longer order this throttle, do you think any other trottle with the yellow 3 pin connector would do the same? (found something on Aliexpress "3 pin throttle"? Or was there something specific on this throttle, like diameter voltage or similar? Hope u still remember some of these details ;)
it works well but i dont get the zero start on the bike i have to pedal before i can use the throttle but it can go 40mph as shown
You have an option to enable / disable zero start.

Hello, What is the unlocking procedure to make it go faster only? with assisted pedaling!
Unlocking only works for throttle, it will not work for assisted mode. You can do the 5 assist setting to improve ride quality.
@@TechTronic9000 I bought a thumb throttle on Amazon ... not a knob like yours! I followed all the installation procedure then I made the two Jacks mate I pressed the accelerator at the bottom with the brake and I pressed the power button for more than 15 seconds. I have set the assistance mode number 5 but the wheel does not move! because?

@@TechTronic9000 I cant get the throttle you used. i bought a thumb one that has the yellow 3 pin plug. I followed your instructions but it does not work. It is a 130x. Any advice?
I think that the 130x model is not compatible with the ado controller.

Hi there, i have fitted a throttle, went through the procedure but it will not work. I have tried thumb throttle which gives a code 8 error and a twist throttle which gives a code 7 error. Any ideas what can do to fix this please ??
Is the throttle from ADO? I have tried several other twist and push models and none of them work beside the original one.
Yes I have now tried original ADO throttle and it still does not work. Ado have sent me another connection also, is it possible that I need to open the workings and add this at the controller??

No , not showing error, just doesn't seem to work
I have also noticed that when I put it to "0" it shows the error 8, but this is with the throttle disconnected.

No it is not, the full speed can only be achieved by throttle.
I changed the wheel size and it works with 5 mode PAS. The display says 25 km/h but my gps tell me 36 km/h with 17 inch size entered in parameters

It could be controller error or wiring problems.

How you can deactivate it?
Same as activating, but hold only the brakes.

Since 2023 they change the bike and there is no more cable so you cant upgrade to speed up this bike anymore
I think that they can supply the cable, or they have split the production into international and EU versions.
