However, I could believe that his increasingly fascist following that supports anti-drag and anti-trans policies could perceive a man wearing heels as a sign of hypocrisy. @@redrick8900 surgery is not used on minors in gender affirming care. Puberty blockers prevent the need for surgery before age of majority (only given with agreement from parents, doctor, and child) and after that age they have the choice of surgery. No one forces them one way or another.

As a man who is 5’11” I’m insulted. I dreamed as a kid to be the first person in my family to be 6 foot. Due to economic obligations and helping out my family, it just never happened for me. But I’ve worked hard to get as tall as I am.

That's the dangerous thing about it: that some people have such hardcore ideas about what bodily characteristics make someone explicitly male or female, and risk using such self-proclaimed expert knowledge against someone who is not trans, but might end up in serious danger because of the mere accusation.
The amount of times people asked about my Adams apple and during the explanation started feeling their own throat only as men to find out theirs was also practically invisible, or with women finding out they had a slightly visible one is insane. If I had a dollar for each time someone asked me this question I would've been rich by now.
In a different fashion it is also funny and weird at the same time to hear people ask me how I'm 5ft 6.9" because "You are not very tall for someone born...well, you know...", out of the idea that men in general are always tall (I'm Dutch by the way, so among the tallest people in the world, which is probably where this idea comes from).
Sometimes this question is accompanied by the remark "You must have stopped growing early", upon which I usually explain that I actually was so short prior to puberty that the endocrinologist was concerned there was a hormonal problem, with my thyroid being so hyperactive that it was blocking puberty on it's own by breaking down the hormones that puberty blockers stop from being secreted.
Eventually it turned out that my body just took it's time and it got into boy puberty naturally, but it still is weird to have women taller than me ask this particular question, and sometimes only upon my explanation realizing that they are taller than average for women (I'm actually of average height for women in The Netherlands).
It is weird that some people's stereotypical ideas of the spectrum of sex only get shattered when they meet a transperson that has several body characteristics closer associated with the gender identity they now associate with compared to as how they were born as.
One time (and it could've been the person having seen me taking my hormones, which were in pill-form at the time and look A LOT like the contraceptive pill) a woman asked me if I was trans (I never made it a big secret where I work) and when I answered I was, only to hear: "Aaaaw, that's such a shame!! You are such a beautiful girl!"
I still don't know if it was the combination of her having seen me taking my hormone pill and having heard I'm trans, or the hormone pill in combination with my low voice, making her think I was FtM.
My reply was something like this: "Errr...yea, that's...kind of the idea...I'm a transfemale..." Only to then hear: "OMG You were born male? Like how!? You don't look like one at all!"
Hormones are beautiful things sometimes...

I'm an artist. I've studied anatomy. Hands and feet are some of the hardest things to draw, because when they aren't right, it's really obvious. Human legs and feet don't look like that. DerpSantis is definitely wearing lifts in those boots. He's wearing, at least, 3 or 4-inchers inside boots that have a minimum 1-inch heel. No wonder he always looks like he's in physical pain. But, then again, maybe he's just not human?

The average height of a guy in the USA is supposedly 5' 9". How can that be considered short if it's average? Short should be below average.
The problem I think is that so many people (especially people who are public figures like politicians, athletes, and entertainers) lie about their height by pretending that their height in shoes is their barefoot height. That means you need to subtract one or two inches to get their true height. We know from visual comparisons and word of mouth on so many of these people. I'm slightly over 5' 10" barefoot and close to 6 ft in sneakers but I don't claim 5' 11" or 6 ft. I say I'm 5' 10".
So when you've got every guy claiming to be two inches taller than they really are, it creates a perception that 5' 9" is short because a lot of those are really 5' 7" to 5' 8" guys (and perhaps not coincidentally, 5' 7" is the average height of men in the entire world). That could explain how 5' 11" might ne perceived as average among public figures because those are really 5' 9" to 5' 10" guys claiming to be 5' 11". From personal experience, I knew a guy who I clearly had about three inches on and yet he claimed to be 5' 9" (even had it on his driver's license). I also had a friend who was about an inch taller than me and yet he claimed with the utmost seriousness that he was 6' 1" barefoot.
Is Ron DeSantis one of those guys who is maybe 5' 8" but wears boots with lifts to look like he's almost 6 ft? Maybe.
He needs to embrace his short king status. Everything else will fall in line.

I don’t get the height thing! Short guys are awesome…if they’re awesome and same with tall guys! Any woman who requires a certain height over everything, deserves to date someone like Ron DeSatan and nothing more!

I'm 5'10 but say I'm 5'11 just because I'm close enough to the latter that I don't think it makes much difference. I don't normally make fun of someone for what they wear, unless what they're wearing is used to garner attention in an obnoxious way but I couldn't stop laughing when they showed the pictures. They not only looked ridiculous but they looked like they hurt and were just weirdly worn if that makes sense.
