In a recent interview she said, "The lyrics of influencer are about the self-approving influencers that are so common among young Japanese today" (although I think it applies to all countries). MISA said in the same interview that Influencer was her favorite song off the new EP because of the fun bass line.
It's been Hunky Dory Days for USA fans, that's for sure! The Maids entire US tour was a fantastic success. So many great live fancams to watch! And they're coming back in May!! Just so you know, I witnessed it at the venue😄. (They played it 11 times during their US-tour thereafter.) This MV was filmed at a famous and old stone quarry (Ishikiri-Sanmyaku) located in Ibaraki prefecture, north of Tokyo. Kanami, the lead guitarist, was very scared when she stood near the brink of the cliff but she could defy the fear once cameras started to capture her playing scene. [source : Gekirock News]. Saiki is singing "Hunky Dory" repeatedly. It sounds to me, an aged Japanese, a kind of word play or pun. This phrase is very close to Japanese expression "Honki (本気) Dori (or Tori 撮り)" that means 「本気」= serious, earnest, sincere" and 「撮り」= filming, recording, image capturing". This is cynically suitable to what influencers do, isn't it? In the rap part Saiki is also singing "Always that one-upping contest, chit-chat chit-chat". "Chit-chat" sounds like "chicchai ちっちゃい" in Japanese. That means "tiny, trivial, frivolous, worthless etc." Miku's lyrics includes a lot of word play and Miku admitted she did it on purpose in an interview [source : Spice Oct.7]. ps. They don't waste time telling you to like them, they spend their time making outstanding music. So you like them, and so do I.
It's been a while, I thought the donut wouldn't click on Band-Maid again! They toured the States recently, I saw them live in Chicago for the first time after two long years of no concerts because of Coshit-91 and they're unreal. You're lucky though, they'll come back to Florida in a few months and hopefully add more shows around the country 🤘🕊️
My gosh I have no idea how they did that, cause I cannot stand direct sunlight in the summer. Too bright and hot. And in their case, they definitely had to do a couple of takes, in full outfits, strum and drum their soul out. Like I could not. They truly suffered in the name of art. They did amazing job!
@@DonutClick this might not be the best recommendation since you still have a lot of songs to react ro from them but, you should check out their performance at Aftershock. Just a 30 minutes live show with the sun directly in their faces. They're 4x4 people 🤘🕊️

Happy New Year Julia. I see Cherry still has her Christmas Tree up. You are right about the meaning of the song, plus there is some added context. During the lockdowns, Saiki was annoyed at what she saw on Instagram and other social media sites, and at how fake people were. She mentioned that to Miku who had just gotten the new song from Kanami. And so we have now have Influencer. On the video production, this was I think the second time the Ladies have worked with drone cameras, the first being their MV for Warning. While filming this, it was very hot that day and also humid. I look forward to seeing more of your reactions. Please give our regards to your parents.
