I hope you continue on this journey and really get a feel for what they are musically, so far with Sense and Unleash you've only seen what is their slightly heavy frenetic rock style. They are so much more than this and speaking personally one of the things that makes this band so great for me is the enormous variety in their music, from rock ballads right through to seriously heavy rock. I'm convinced that Kanami is either on her third reincarnation or she's actually 90 years old because she seems to be influenced by music from the 60's right through to the present day. Rock, blues, jazz, punk, , metal, you name it there's a bit of everything in their music. A live song would be good for your next (hopefully) reaction, Domination, Freedom ,Play, Real Existence, Onset (instrumental), About Us (for a change of pace) or the Manners/ Blackhole double feature are good options. There is also the live acoustic version of Sayonakidori available for a short time if you're interested in hearing what Miku can do when she takes lead vocals in an acoustic setting.
Band-Maid of late has this certain phenomenon thing going regarding their more progy-punk hard rock and Anime written tunes. These songs are hard, complex and will totally grow on you like a thousand pound R&R leech. The Maids in this format are relentless and powerful. Their new “AniMaid” (anime) Covid-fighting MV and new battle gear is exciting, meaningful and classy! Unleash (or Sense) could be, in my thinking, their new opener for their upcoming 2022 US Tour. Band-Maid fans notice a lot of hidden clues in this video. The one that's most poignant to me is at 0:52 where Miku is shown (Alone) in the original 2015 video Thrill where she couldn't play guitar at that point and to reflect on how far she has come since then. Also At 1:14 Kanami with hearts around her when she's close with Saiki since every fan knows that Kanami is in love with Saiki.
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 Two days ago, "Unleash!!!" was played at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo as the 17th song. I witnessed the show at the venue ヽ(^o^)丿 The girls were excited that day because they had not played at Zepp for 5 years. Especially, Kanami was so excited that she wanted to explode herself by drinking alcoholic beverage on stage ! after Misa and right before playing this song. Other members were surprised because Kanami did not drink alcohol for years even off stage. So Kanami played last 5 songs under the influence of alcohol 😄 They are charming, adorable, and more importantly highly-skilled !

Nice reaction. Just my personal interpretation of the MV but I think it’s the BM history. The dark clouds in the beginning depict their struggles early on. At 0:11 Kanami punching the wall in tears was an incident in the very early formation when Miku and Saiki showed up very late for practice. Kanami cried because she thought Miku wasn't serious about the band. Misa at 0:19 putting down her pick is maybe because she almost quit in the early days. Miku's red rose blooms at 0:21, things are starting to look good. Then Miku at 0:24, going hard on playing Thrill by herself a reference to the long hours of practice she had to do to learn how to play. Miku looks determined and satisfied that the band is ready for the world at 0:29. Thrill saved the band and at 0:31 she turns into a pigeon and they start to take flight. Right when Saiki sings SHOWTIME at 0:43, Misa takes a drink of her whiskey, Akane eats her banana and Kanami is full of hearts as Saiki flies in, just like in their concerts. The maids flying across the sky in bright sunlight while playing their instruments at 0:49 shows them on their many successful world tours. They land triumphantly on a Western US desert mountain at 0:55 which I think was a reference to their 2019 tour of NYC, Dallas and LA. However, they haven't planted their flag at that point. They are soon engulfed in black smoke again, which is the Covid pandemic that pretty much happened not too long after they got back to Japan from that US tour. The next scene with them looking dejected in the studio at 1:03 was perhaps about the cancellation of the Budokan concert due to the pandemic. They start playing again with their online shows during the lockdown and the people are watching at 1:49 from their homes on their computers, phones and TV. The transformation to the super heroes may be a reference to Sailor Moon that Saiki always says is her favorite Anime. In the final scene, back to the Western US mountain, I think is a direct reference to the upcoming US tour, but this time they triumphantly plant their flag, claiming Domination of the US.

Most if not all the ladies of BAND-MAID love Anime....The end section of the video is definately Saiki's input....Her fav anime is "Sailor Moon"..hence it's Sailor Moon feel....I believe Miku said she used to watch an anime called "K-On!". when she was a kid..which has a story line about a young girl who starts her own (all female) band...In one episode I believe one of their teachers suggests they wear Maid costumes.!...coincidence?...maybe....But fun anyway.

Band-Maid are definitely the best hard rock band and one of the four best bands on the planet. I see bunch of others chatting about them, so since you did One OK Rock and BabyMetal, you should check the other three all female bands - Lovebites (heavy metal queens), Nemophila (hottest band out there) and Scandal (together with One OK Rock staples of rock music). I'd also recommend Wagamama Rakia and The Rolling Quartz an all female rock band from Korea. For J-Pop you can't go without Femm, Faky and Happiness. Enjoy and good reaction!
