Sending thanks for a life further enriched by your work. I spent about an hour this past Wednesday photographing and filming a tiny little black bird as it dove into the freezing, cold Virgin River that weaves through Zion National Forest in Utah. A couple months ago, prior to finding your channel, I would likely have walked past without a second look at this somewhat nondescript bird. I'm at the beginning of my birding and photography journeys. However, having seen your videos, I took the time to watch and film as it foraged in the river. With my return to internet connectivity, I confirmed the bird to be an American dipper. Thanks again for your posts. Sending postive vibrations from SoCal.
Absolutely love your commitment to the art of wildlife photography - there's a certain kind of 'crazee' that is needed for those of us who brave the elements to get a photo, ie: good kind of crazy! Kudos to you and your friend for being out and about on such an awesome day - stupendous video. Take care and be safe out there....
A beautiful video, I've been looking forward to catching up on this one. You really captured the Dippers so well. If you're in Scotland at some point and looking for a new place there is a place called Sma Glen. It's a really nice place, a very old bridge is there and a good walk following the river, dippers are there. In fact I was watching some from the car, there's like a small layby type carpark next to the river. I saw what I thought was a suspended nest, just above the water, and chicks. It was weird because suddenly I started to worry, the nest wasn't that far above the water and I worried about too much rain and the river rising, silly really but wildlife is so precious every bird or animal counts. I'm calmed myself with the fact that they know what they are doing. Anyway, fantastic video, footage and looking forward to something coming out soon, thanks.
Sat at home with Covid. Just found your channel. Great videos. Enjoying catching up on them all. Loved this one and the kites. Wonderful. Totally agree with you about the therapeutic benefits of Wildlife photography.
I thoroughly enjoyed this Richard. Fantastic footage of the dipper and I just enjoyed all aspects of this vlog. This is now one of my favourite channels, so thanks ⭐️
Excellent video Richard I've not seen your work before but enjoyed the content. Looking forward to viewing your back catalogue. I photograph Dippers in the Peak District too but not sure on the location you were at?
Another inspiring video with some lovely footage. I was out trying to photograph/film them near Bakewell that day. Must get myself a tripod, but I did have a waterproof coat! ;)
What a morning! Awesome to see you getting these images Rich, they are superb with the snowy conditions. You must have been soaking lying half in the water too 😅 great work as always mate 👏🏻
hi hope well awesome video im alex not pro but very passionate severely sight impaired/blind photographer going to be on episode of winter watch soon so keep an eye out about my visual impairment how it affects but also show how i go about doing my passion but also get it out tere show whatever ability is can do whatever want to achieve or do whatever u r into, would just like to ask opinion on the 1dxii for wildlife and what lens u use reason is as i use nikon z7 mirrorless with 24-200 i did have the sugma contemporary 150-600 nikon but got rid of it due to weight and then hired a 500mm pf but wasnt close enough had to crop so but pixelated so ok though so have been recommended to look at the olympus range or lumix range
Hi Alex, Thank you for your comment. I look forward to Winterwatch even more now. I love the 1dxmkii for wildlife photography as it fast and solid however it is quite heavy and the shutter pretty loud. The Olympus range looks great and some of my favourite photographers use Olympus, like Tesni Ward, so certainly worth considering. I love the gear I used but it is far from light I'm afraid. If you have any more questions I'm happy to help, just send me an email at richard@richardcampionphotography.com All the best Rich
Great video ,my first visit to your channel, love derbyshire and would be very interested to know the location you was at with the dippers .Pm if you like Or just reveal in the comments thanks. Hope to be up there within the next 3 moths sometime. Now a subscriber :)
😂 I actually had a piece to camera saying that I forgot my raincoat but for some reason I cut it out in the edit! That jacket was definitely not waterproof 😂 Thanks for watching 👍
