Hello Ruth, it was great to see so close up the way to end off. I was wondering about the direction - is there some reason for that because it seems counterintuitive to go anti clockwise as you're working against the natural momentum of the right hand. To tighten the stitch, the angle is leaning to the left so you have to pull ACROSs your body; wouldn't it be more natural to lean to the right when you are right handed and to go clockwise? i've seen it a few times now so there must be a reason for going in this direction, I just don't know what it is. Maybe it has something to do with having to hold the loose raffia? L
Hi Linda, the reason I go anti clockwise is because I have created this the same way I would crochet in the round which is anti clockwise - but you can do it anyway you feel comfortable. Cheers Ruth
@@CraftSchoolOz thanks so much, Ruth. In fact I think while the basket rotates anti, the hand that's stitching stays in the same place and... stitching anti also means that the bulk of the raffia or whatever is veing used in the coil, is to the LEFT, not in the way to the right so that's a good thing. have a great January Ruth. Merci beaucoup pour cette belle vidéo j'adore bonne continuation ♥️❤️❤️🙏🏻👍👍
I wish you would share a video of how to twine weave pandanus sun mat, basket sculptures and dilly bags. Thank you for a beautiful demo.
Pandanus mats, dilly bags and sun mats are Indigenous crafts which I don’t teach. There will be some indigenous ladies who would teach this.

Where do you purchase your raffia? Does it come in a long spool? What is the brand name?
