Well, that turned out to be some fine looking cherry! I just got through making divider strips for a jewelry box ( I'll email pics when it's done) made from cherry about the same color as that heart wood in log 2, beautiful!
In my opinion, cherry is the best wood for furniture, cutting boards, carving, etc. It does it all and is beautiful as well. And the best cherry comes from Pennsylvania.
I was stunned to read some really nasty comments on your last video. I say thank you for keeping up your work for the benefit of some miserable and ungrateful people. I also thought ZZ killed it with those interviews

Love the videos. I’ve been watching for a long while now. Very stress relieving. Strange thing that since I saw you working the controls in the cab it brought back memories of a comic character called Dr. Octopus. No offense - it just triggered a memory.
We can't see that laser lineup line on top of the logs hardly at all on camera. I wish we could see it. Different lighting needed over on the log load side?
According to Grandpa and my Dad it was always imperative to run the "butt" or big end of the log to the saw first. ( Even when we loaded the wagon or the sleigh the big ends always went to the front) I will have to ask why they do it that way. Only thing I can think of is the front of the wagon or sleigh stays on the ground?? There's some real nice cherry you have this time.

One of the best times to saw is after the leaves have dropped. The bark holds, and the sapwood is dormant.
