Congratulations on your township special exemption zoning approval. The Lamoreau family especially Liam are excited for the new adventure of having the Woodfellas as neighbors.
Mark, I really enjoyed watching the project come together. I can tell you are definitely a profectionist. Thank you so much for sharing. I hadn't seen one of those planers, and joiners in a few years. You have a Awesome shop. Thanks again for sharing.
Seven o’clock in the morning that’s a very nice bar top I don’t really drink but I can appreciate the craftsmanship that’s gone into that bar top, anyway have a nice day
Mark, that was a very enjoyable video. I like watching someone make a lovely piece of work, as you did here. I look forward to watching part two. Merry Christmas from Australia where it is around 35 degrees Celsius currently which is your 95 f.
WOW Really surprising what Mother Nature provides for us. That in combination with some awesome woodworking skills Simply PRICELESS, more on site therapy Thanks
I was going to ask you about your foot ware and then you answered that question for me. A trick we did when I worked in a lab to make it easier to put our gloves was to put some air into a glove so it would stretch the glove a little bit and then let the air out and slide your hand in quickly and repeat with the other one, some of us needed a half size or they didn't have any more of the right size. I had to laugh when you enlisted your cameraman. Keep up the great videos and God bless you and your family.
Nice work, Mark, and that is a gorgeous slab of spalted sycamore! I have done a few tables using spalted elm and spalted maple, and found that using penetrating epoxy before sanding is crucial to keeping the slab flat. The wood that is full of fungus looks great, but it is much more porous than the surrounding non-spalted wood... so during the sanding process it wears away faster, creating low spots. If you pre-treat with wood with penetrating epoxy after flattening but before sanding, you'll get a much flatter and smoother final surface. Just my experience, YMMV. Great video, btw.
Absolutely Beautiful . Good Job ! When I watched you guy's sawing those log's I thought it was kinda ugly . But I was wrong .Dave From olivebridge , N.Y.
Mark, I am going to be making a bar for step son out of Spalted maple and I was strugging a little on how to flatten it. THANK YOU so much. You need to make the video on the flatten jig itself. I think I got it figured out but a full video would be greater. Thanks a lot. Tell the gang HI! ....Dave Ellis
I sid business with a company in Erie P.A. It was called Erisco.I bought wire steel from them to be used in the company I worked for in making plastic toys.Maybe someone. Will remember Hot Cycles.😊
Well, I try not to be jealous when you use the Porter C, but it's hard Mark, I'm tellin' ya! The planer is cool too! My favorite Dennis the Menace cartoon is Dennis and a friend are watching Dad in his woodshop, the friend ask Dennis "What does he make?" Dennis replies "Sawdust Mostly"!
Are you going to add some sort of wide padded cushion on the front edge of that bar top for the inevitable black-out, pass-out, face-plants it will have to endure on your standard lush's journey to the floor? FYI: ALL high schools are Eerie.
@ 31:10 once again I would prefer that all wood workers used " Feather Boards " even when ripping on the table saw / keeps the material tight to the fence and tight to the saw table if placed on the top of the fence / the new magnetic ones ( with the quick release ) are great !
Mark got a suggestion for your drink rail. Why not after the glue dries take all your dry wall screws out and put wooden dowels in place of them.. that would look good to me.
Like a blasted MIRROR! Went to the V.A. in Asheville today. The wrecked bridge was opened up yesterday so we got to go our old standby route. Piles of mud/dirt/sand and brush all over with equipment everywhere. Had a huge yard full of bucket trucks was EMPTY! Must've been 100 and they were all gone. Still working on the power. Got home 3:30 and all is well. SWELL BAR, Pal! A-PLUS! Happy weekend till another video aND THEN, more BLESSINGS! Good camera guy you had there!
That was awesome mark you made that come alive, like how you told Alex it was for Uncle Edmond 😮😅. Sure is a beautiful piece
thanks Doug.
I really enjoy seeing you take advantage of all your tools, both big and powerful, and simple jigs and hand tools.

Love these shop videos! Thanks for talking time to show us how.
I could tell you have a love for wood the way you touch it and hold it and feel it only a person that cares about wood could do that
thanks David.

Magnificent job Mike, explained and demonstrated to perfection!👌❤
Truly a beautiful and unique slab. The addition of the walnut sets it apart. Helpful tips if I decide on epoxy for my computer desktop. Thanks Mark.

Good video Bus Motor Productions.

Nice bar top . .
that is very pretty
Excellent - Hire that cameraman full time. Nice piece of wood.
Are you going to add some sort of wide padded cushion on the front edge of that bar top for the inevitable black-out, pass-out, face-plants it will have to endure on your standard lush's journey to the floor? FYI: ALL high schools are Eerie.
I don't think a man cave bar would need that, But maybe a bar downtown on 1st Ave probably would need it though 😉
@danno3497 I was already describing a man-cave lite situation, I didn't add a padded bar length floor mat.
@ 27:45 some of the newer magnetic Feather Boards would really help here to keep the piece tight to the fence and tight to the cutting heads
@ 31:10 once again I would prefer that all wood workers used " Feather Boards " even when ripping on the table saw / keeps the material tight to the fence and tight to the saw table if placed on the top of the fence / the new magnetic ones ( with the quick release ) are great !

Another great video but my lack of knowledge question for today is what is the difference between epoxy and a lacquer or varnish
That looks awesome! You have a wonderful shop and equipment and know how to use it. A great combination. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this.
thank you Paul.
I have built more than a few bars . Mark what is the purpose of the back inlayed part , I see lots that have that in some form or another .
I liked your pointers. Even learned a thing or two. It turned out BEAUTIFUL !
thanks Larry.
NICE JOB LOOKS GREAT
thanks Bill.
hell thats a pretty table also ship it to lol
thank you!
A little warmer in the shop.
Beautiful work and wood! Thanks Mark!
thanks Michael.
Hey Mark ,do u have any 5/4 spalted sycamore, I'm looking for some,also 2 " rough 13 " width 8 or 10'
no sir Gerald , I have a few logs aging and hope we get more of these slabs.
Nice set up , a life time of collecting?
thank you Eddie.
Mark, FABULAS!! 👍👍💯💯Love your "tricks" Esp "you can't add to cut wood" So as Dad taught me, Measure 2x---Cut 1x! 💯💯😎😎
thank you Greg.
I thought it went: Measure twice, cut once, swear repeatedly, buy more material.
...................Gosh!
It pays to have a sawmill !! Thank you for another Great video. Cheers
thanks Steven.
Blue Bosch = indestructable.
Green Bosch : take one more newspaper job till you can buy a blue bosch.
I love this old router!
Great video! I really enjoyed it. I hope you are getting paid well from utube for the obscene amount of advertising they added to it.
