“Hi, I have a suggestion. Instead of typing the name of the location, you can use a drop pin for a faster and more accurate way, especially if you don’t know the location
Yes but now you're also excluding people who are actually living in Oxford and have visited elsewhere. Much easier is just to include it in the form as a yes/no question, and use conditional logic on it. Facebook then learns that you need people that live there. Works like a charm.
Do you mean that because people will have YES/NO, it will put off people not living in London and therefore optimize for people submitting the lead form (likely those clicking yes)?
Thanks for trying to help us with the wild mess that is meta these days… but people are giving Facebook the data over where they live when they state that on their profile so I think Facebook needs to chill
I am selling organic milk in local area on monthly subscription model. We used to get good leads but since location update we are receiving leads from outside our target location we tried many things but still facing the same issue!
Hey Ben! thank you for all this information. What if we want to specifically target tourists the days they are going to be in the place? or maybe people with the intent of traveling to a zone so the ad is shown to them some days before they travel to a place? would be awesome to learn what strategy do you use for targeting tourists!
Informative video Ben. :) Appreciate your support! Did you also notice a change in Manual Placement options, it doesnt allow us to choose or untick placement option unless we tick the "Messenger" as one of the Messaging Apps.. and this is happening with all the Ad Options !!
@@BenHeath That's a good idea! I will try a different browser and will share the observation. I have been banging my head using the same browser and tried multiple campaigns to see if there's a glitch or something. Let me try a different browser. :)
Help. I am making an ad for a busy work place area for the workers there. When a person works at a specific place stays there during weekdays monday to friday, and goes home to another area during weekends that is geofenced. Will that person be excluded from the ads in his workplace?
When I exclude an area, it will exclude anyone that lives in the area OR people that live in the area and those that have recently visited the area? If it is those who have recently visited the area too, how long is "recently visited"? Thanks.
Ben, could you please address the invitation-to-join-a-group feature in Meta please?? It has disappeared again and invitations to those people who react to an Engagement ad campaign no longer work either. It seems the only way to get more people into your group now would be to advertise the group itself? Does that sound correct?
I dig this and get it. But why would you not exlude worldwide and only include your area or areas you wanna advertise? Like with the example having so many global visitors.
Oh yes it will increase cost per conversion most likely. But for certain businesses it's best to pay a bit more per lead but actually be able to serve them because they are in the right location :)
I have done everything I possibly could but Meta will still send 60% of the time outside the target location even though my audience are broad enough (2-5 millions) Exclusions doesnt work at all
@BenHeath I did them as well. It's just the same. It's happening since 2 months (I've been in FB ads for 5+ years now) it's really getting frustrating now a days as ROI is declining due to Meta sending ads to outside target locations.
Hey Ben , very good video ! I was wondering if I can help you with more Quality Editing in your videos and make Highly Engaging Thumbnails which will help your videos to get more views and engagement . Please let me know what do you think ?
I wouldn’t see this as trying to outsmart the AI. More like giving it more guidance. And the AI doing that for you only works if your ads are heavily local oriented. A ton of local advertisers don’t do that.
The AI doesn't always get it right. I live in the Denver suburbs and looking for people in the Denver suburbs, I get a lot of leads from people that live an hour from me but have visited Denver. I need to limit that, the AI picks them up all day long.
No i discovered that a month ago and put exclusions around the targetted area and the results have shown that this is the best way. Don't give us false info and your hypotheses when you don't have any hands-on experience. Ur ruining it for a lot of those who are strggling with this.

Yep Ben i have been doing this for the past 4 months.... its really the only way. Lets hop on a Pod cast soon!
Is it working for you @marketmonster6055?
Does the exclusion include those that visited the excluded area recently? If so, how long ago is recently?
I really appreciated that Money Pit interjection

@@lucianogentile4908 You can choose to only allow people that choose YES to be able to complete the form.
Now the Meta algorithm knows what you want.
How would the form optimize that? Form is for data collection@@lucianogentile4908

That's very odd, probably a technical glitch. Have you tried using a different browser?

Hey Ben! I tried using a different browser. Its still the same.. the error message is "This placement isn't available for WhatsApp engagement." :)
Thank you for the information, Ben. One question: for businesses like restaurants, which objective do you recommend for the campaign?
Tried that this weekend for a message ad. My cost per message increased from 0.6 dollars to 7 dollars.
But were the messages from the right location? If so, that might be a better outcome.
Also you may have weekly fluctuation, so a weekend in isolation is not a good test.
Thank you
great idea - thanks
I spend 250€/ a week and my estimated Leads per day are 0... would be cool to get a video on that!(: much love thank you
I wouldn't worry about the estimates, they are wildly inaccurate :)

I try one country ads campaign make, but there so many visa holder workers also how can i excluded them brother? Pls reply 😊
This is fine… but how do we exclude competitors let’s say business page admins from seeing our ads.
I don't think there's anyway of doing that which isn't more harmful to your campaigns.
@@BenHeath Most of the times in India, we will find only competitors sharing information as a lead.
Same happen here in Nigeria, sometimes will just get messages from random manufacturers, vendors and competitors, so annoying @@iamnilaych
So if i use advantage + audience and select the age range 32-65+ will it respect it or will it show to other age ranges as well
thankyou

In my experience that option doesn’t work because of the overlap. But if you can get that to work in your ad account then go for it.
@@BenHeath ok thanks for the clarification
how to exclude hometown like we dont want to show ad to localite but to people travelling in that particular location?
Will adding a location reset likes and comments on an active campaign
How do you target future visitors?
What to do when exclude location option is not available?
Would you only exclude around the area or whole of the UK?
Normally around the area is fine but you could broaden that out if you are still seeing an issue
do you think excluding location can cost more since we're limiting fb's algo?

Are you using a manual campaign? I'm guessing you aren't and that's why it doesn't show.

Meta AI automatically targets the local people based on our data. Trying to outsmart the AI will end in bad result for sure.

In advantage+ audience age ranges are suggestions, not hard constraints. That means Meta has the flexibility to advertise to other people as well.
@@BenHeath ok so if i am in a niche where my typical lead is 32-65+ should i go with original audience or stick with advantage+
