18 yrs old: Started my first ecommerce business selling second hand video games. I made $0.
19 yrs old: Joined a network marketing company (would not recommend it). Was told I’d be rich if I signed up 8 people. I signed up 26 people in 3 months. I made $0.
21 yrs old: Dropped out of Bath University to start an app development company. I made less than $5,000 in 2 years!
23 yrs old: Started Heath Media, my marketing agency. I made $0 for the first 3 years.
26 yrs old: Went all in on building a personal brand within the marketing space. I passed $100k/year.
28 yrs old: My personal brand allowed me to attract the best talent in the world. Heath Media became an industry leading Meta ads agency, with an exceptional team and an excellent reputation. We crossed $1m/year.

Thank you for the information, Ben. One question: for businesses like restaurants, which objective do you recommend for the campaign?
Yes but now you're also excluding people who are actually living in Oxford and have visited elsewhere.
Much easier is just to include it in the form as a yes/no question, and use conditional logic on it. Facebook then learns that you need people that live there. Works like a charm.
Do you mean that because people will have YES/NO, it will put off people not living in London and therefore optimize for people submitting the lead form (likely those clicking yes)?
@@lucianogentile4908 You can choose to only allow people that choose YES to be able to complete the form.
Now the Meta algorithm knows what you want.

Hey Ben! thank you for all this information. What if we want to specifically target tourists the days they are going to be in the place? or maybe people with the intent of traveling to a zone so the ad is shown to them some days before they travel to a place? would be awesome to learn what strategy do you use for targeting tourists!

Thanks for trying to help us with the wild mess that is meta these days… but people are giving Facebook the data over where they live when they state that on their profile so I think Facebook needs to chill

Ben, could you please address the invitation-to-join-a-group feature in Meta please?? It has disappeared again and invitations to those people who react to an Engagement ad campaign no longer work either. It seems the only way to get more people into your group now would be to advertise the group itself? Does that sound correct?
I spend 250€/ a week and my estimated Leads per day are 0... would be cool to get a video on that!(: much love thank you
I wouldn't worry about the estimates, they are wildly inaccurate :)
Informative video Ben. :) Appreciate your support! Did you also notice a change in Manual Placement options, it doesnt allow us to choose or untick placement option unless we tick the "Messenger" as one of the Messaging Apps.. and this is happening with all the Ad Options !!

I have been banging my head using the same browser and tried multiple campaigns to see if there's a glitch or something.

Hey Ben! I tried using a different browser. Its still the same.. the error message is "This placement isn't available for WhatsApp engagement." :)
So if i use advantage + audience and select the age range 32-65+ will it respect it or will it show to other age ranges as well

do you think excluding location can cost more since we're limiting fb's algo?
Oh yes it will increase cost per conversion most likely. But for certain businesses it's best to pay a bit more per lead but actually be able to serve them because they are in the right location :)

I dig this and get it. But why would you not exlude worldwide and only include your area or areas you wanna advertise? Like with the example having so many global visitors.
In my experience that option doesn’t work because of the overlap. But if you can get that to work in your ad account then go for it.

This is fine… but how do we exclude competitors let’s say business page admins from seeing our ads.
I don't think there's anyway of doing that which isn't more harmful to your campaigns.
@@BenHeath Most of the times in India, we will find only competitors sharing information as a lead.

Meta AI automatically targets the local people based on our data. Trying to outsmart the AI will end in bad result for sure.
I wouldn’t see this as trying to outsmart the AI. More like giving it more guidance. And the AI doing that for you only works if your ads are heavily local oriented. A ton of local advertisers don’t do that.

In advantage+ audience age ranges are suggestions, not hard constraints. That means Meta has the flexibility to advertise to other people as well.
