My favorite video game of all time is this tiny free indie game called Outcore Desktop Adventure. Its like, platformer mixed with desktop buddy with some of the funniest writing I have ever seen in a video game. Its literally free on steam so I HIGHLY recommend you give it a shot
I enjoyed this vid! Loved that The Messenger was included. My personal additions to the list: Death's Door, Chained Echoes, Two Point Hospital, Windjammers 2, Manor Lords, Super Woden GP 1 & 2, Tinykin, River City Girls 1 & 2 and Blazing Chrome.
Yea the reason I played sea of stars day one was because of this game!! Both our 10/10 masterpieces sooo fu#king good , sabotage studios are pure quality!!
Loved the list! The first game that I'd always add, one I always advocate for, is Nex Machina, from Housemarque (now of Returnal fame). Others, just my opinion, would be Chicory, Gris, Infernax, Lone Survivor, Axiom Verge, Manifold Garden, Observer, and Swapper. There are many others 😅
This list was pretty cool. It looks clearly like I would love to play these games and feel the surprise in me. You're an asset for the industry, man. Probably. I mean i havent played many of these.
Nice list, man. I have played the majority of them & heard. I haven't bar Tales of Iron. That look has me sold. I will definitely check it out. Indies I have enjoyed are titles like Vampire Survivors, simple but surprisingly addictive. Celeste, Sea of Stars, Dead Cells, Cuphead, Undertale, Blasphemous, Inscryption, Braid, most recently Animal Well, a Short Hike, Dredge, Return of the Obra Dinn, Killer Frequency, Mundaun, Stray, Citizen Sleeper, Dave the Diver, Cocoon, Papers Please was a good one some years back, Limbo, Hotline Miami, Outer Wilds, Disco Elysium, Stardew Valley, Minit, Toem. The Artful Escape was asthetically beautiful & very creative. Gris, Not for Broadcast, As Dusk Falls, Night in the Woods, Brother's: A Tale of Two Sons, Observation, Darkwood, Firewatch, Death's Door, Abzu, Omori, World of Horror, Thimbleweed Park, Eastward. Some of these may not be overlooked, but I felt they deserved more recognition than they possibly received.
Great video! Love indie games n so many are not played cuz no one knows about them. I got so many indie games in the past two years n find them better than AAA games. I subscribed for the indie video alone n hope you keep making them. For sure picking up The messenger n Tunic.
I played most of the games you listed or have em on my wishlist. So your taste seem to fit mine very well. If I had to pick one, I would say try out "Furi"! Hard work for a platinum, but hella fun.
Tunic and The Messenger are some of my favorite indies ever. But I feel like Tunic is pretty popular all things considered. I think Bastion gets the attention it deserves. It’s pretty popular too. Owlboy I thought was just ok
picked up In Sound Mind last week when I saw it on sale on Steam! Haven’t jumped in yet but am definitely looking forward to seeing what it’s all about 💜
I played this war of mine years ago when it was released in android and it was brutal, I was absolutely not prepared to have my entire childhood perspective on how it is to live in a war shifted so violently....only for the dlc with the children to come out AND MAKE IT EVEN MORE BRUTAL ??? HELLO ??? the game is excellent but it was depressing that I have not picked it up again since playing the dlc few times
Dude you need to try Deathbulge: Battle of the Bands. Recent entry, but so criminally overlooked. It’s a turn based RPG where music is your weapon. The characters and story are simultaneously hilarious and moving.
Played tails of iron to completion in two days, around 9 hours. Rock solid 90fps on the Oled steam deck. Plus it’s narrated by Gerald of Rivia (The Witcher). Also goes on sale for 3$ periodically.
@@jacobmstevens As a first example, I discovered a developer here on YT who seems nice and he released his first game a while ago. I have it on my wishlist but can't get to it right now because I have so many other things to do, but I think it could use some more attention. The game is called Pre Dusk.
I tried so hard to love that game, haha. The RNG felt so punishing though, even at max level with good gear. I beat the base game, but tapped out after that.
@MrPrinny23 yeah but knowledge is power the more you know about fear and hunger the better it becomes its like muscle memory but still rng can screw you no matter what lol
Tunic seems nice, but I like some sort of hand holding in games... I feel like I might get a bit frustrated when I don't find things out... And I hate having to use walkthroughs throughout a game.
It would be helpful to put the names or links of the games so that we can check them out after finishing the video. Thanks for the video many of the games looks very interesting and the one I played I really love
If Death's Door is not here, I hope it's in your other videos cause I think it's not that well known yet, maybe just as much as people know Tunic. If you enjoyed Bastion or Tunic or zelda likes or even metroidvania-ish isometric games, highly recommend.
Still was an indie studio, it’s basically how the companies buy the games for exclusives as smaller games require lower budget but if marketed right, can sell or seem like a AAA quality indie. But still an indie
They're not really indie (not all of them), but everyone should at least try: The outer wilds Chants of Sennaar Magicka Card shark MO: astray Iconoclasts

I only started Tales of Iron yesterday and am already 6 hours into it. It's an amazing game and I'm so excited to see what the sequel brings!
AWESOME!! 🔥🔥

Loved death's door sooo much... Actually thought it was the first clip, till I looked closer to see that it was Tunic
Deaths door ❤
The messenger is incredible. Devolver never misses
Bastion did get a lot of praise on release. It was part of the early onslaught of indie games at the same time as fez, braid, Limbo etc
Fun fact, The Messenger is actually Canonically connected to Sea of Stars. Made by the same studio.
The true ending of sea of stars actually shows the same sun/moon structure from the messenger stages. I got goosebumps while playing

My guy u dropped sum gems on here !!!
Thank you man!! 😁 I try to spread the word haha
I absolutely fell in love with tails of iron. Every aspect of that game has so much charm. And the sequel is coming out!!!
Bramble, the mountain king is amazing!! A must play for those who like fairy tales and little nightmares. I'll play the messenger
Biogun is a game that just came out of ea and could use some love. Don’t see many people playing it and it’s awesome
The Messenger is a Top 5 MV for me. Outstanding game!
BIG W!!
It's a fun platformer but not that good as a metroidvania compared to the genre's GOATS like ori, blasphemous and FIST
Great video! Love indie games n so many are not played cuz no one knows about them. I got so many indie games in the past two years n find them better than AAA games. I subscribed for the indie video alone n hope you keep making them. For sure picking up The messenger n Tunic.
Messenger, bramble and tails of iron were dissapointing but kena and tunic are amazing

Great video, bro
Thank you so much man!! 😁
Great list of games. I'll have to check many of the out in the future. What's the best way (or system) to play all these on?

Great intro🎉
great video, keep it up the good content
Thank you man I appreciate that a ton!! 😁
Tails of Iron is incredible as well. As are all of these. I'm happy to find someone else with a similar indie taste
Awesome!! 😊

11-Bit studios is SICK in the head (I love them for it)
I love Kena Bridge of the Spirit and its univers !! Can't wait to play it !!
I loooooved the Messenger! It's so great
SUCH a good game!! 🔥

I loved nobody saves the world . and the studio who made it has another game called guacamalee which is one of the best metroidvania games of all time
Played tails of iron to completion in two days, around 9 hours. Rock solid 90fps on the Oled steam deck. Plus it’s narrated by Gerald of Rivia (The Witcher). Also goes on sale for 3$ periodically.
Cryptark deserves more praise as does its 3D counterpart Gunhead. That developer makes awesome games.
Cant wait to see who wins the copys of black myth wukong❤
Good Video! I have In Sound Mind but didn't played it yet but soon it will happen. Can i suggest to you some more Indies to check out?
Absolutely!! What do you reccomend??

The fear and hunger games and darkest dungeon if you're into gritty lovecraftian horror
OH awesome I need to check this out!
@@jacobmstevens you won't regret it

That is a great idea!! I will try to add that this week :)!
You absolutely need to play signalis that game was pure art 🎨 👌 👏
I wish i didn't know any of them to play at least one for the first time ❤
Narita boy deserves a mention
Need to check this out!

It is in his other vids
YES I put it in my top 10 video!! 😁 Amazing video game man!!
Great video bro
I love these vids
Thank you so much man 😁
Maybe do mobile games like kingdom rush, Dadish, Btd6, stick war saga…
Planet of Lana is the best indie game ever made.
Kena is not an indie game, it was made in partnership with Sony, who provided most of its budget.
Yeah that's why I said it's a weird one but I just needed an excuse to talk about it haha
Thank you for that absolutely critical information! Not sure how life progressed until you brought this to the fore
@@ryandavid1277 ha.. ha.. 😒
Is that true? Why is it coming to Xbox then?

Nice
They're not really indie (not all of them), but everyone should at least try:
The outer wilds
Chants of Sennaar
Magicka
Card shark
MO: astray
Iconoclasts
you forgot to mention undertale!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!
I don't know if I would say it's an indie game that nobody talks about, like the title of the vid. That's one of the most famous indie games ever 😊
Kena is horrible. Only art style is nice. Combat and animations are 0/10.
Don't look anything up going with zero expectations This will be my greatest recommendation. Omori. Thank me later
