Still loving your uploads. Sorry for your mother's loss. What a great daughter you are. Living vicariously through your travels, and seriously thinking of suv camping near home for practice. It's finally cooling off in Georgia.
Glad you could be there for your mother. Noisy campgrounds can suck, so I always carry a really good brand of ear plugs called Happy Ears, they are made in Sweden. I love how organized you are. I would love to be able to just crawl in back of my rig and hit that pillow hard, but no, I gotta move all kinda crap. So much for being incognito…..
I always bring ear plugs, so thanks for the lead on some good ones! I ended up not needing them. For all the ruckus that went on in the early evening, nighttime was totally quiet - or I was so exhaustedI slept through it. 😀
sorry for your loss & mom's loss. decisions to make for her & you both. allways travel with a paper map. lets you look at the big picture. an lets you plan a alternate route & decide what to do for the sight seeing. lost both og mine 6 to 4 years ago. the hardest part was the covid lock down. when driving & getting dozey, i chew gum to wake me up. have found the action of my jaw moving is enough to put the zzz monster off.
Sorry to hear about the loss in your family. Your mom's lucky to have you to spend time with. I truly envy your organizational skills. I strive to emulate, however my rig continues to look like a tornado blew through. 🤣
I'm sorry to hear about your Mother's loss. But I'm happy to see you making the trip to be with her. When you showed your Atlas it reminded me of a "Pro Tip". Every State line I cross I stop at the welcome center and pick up a State map. Actually, I pick up one for each of my vehicles. They take up practically no space and they are WAY more detailed than an Atlas. I've actually broken them out once in a while to look at options not offered up by Google Maps. Plus, they make a pretty good souvenir of your travels.
I travel with 2 road maps,,,one is 25 + yrs old the other is maps from states,,map box. lol. I often look at my old map for roads not on new ones..lol. Love the video! My truck is set up with my camper shell. Ready to pull out in Dec! Enjoyed video
At 9:24 that is a freeze proof faucet. Lift the handle, wait for water to rise through the long vertical pipe and expect water to probably blast out soaking everything within a couple of feet.
Luv road trips! I live in KY So hope you liked it. Sorry for mom's loss. My research about the Ky law .... outlaws unapproved camping in public but exempts temp sleeping in car.
Thank you for another entertaining video. Your mother is so fortunate to have a great daughter. I am looking forward to following your journey. Thank you again for taking us along.
Another great video, thank you for taking us along with you. I’m super excited about seeing Kentucky. My grandfather was from there (born in 1897) and I’ve heard so many stories. I hope you’re able to show at least a little of what it looks like. So sorry for your family’s loss. You’re a good daughter to go be with your mom during this difficult time, Martha.
Condolences to your family. I camped in Las Vega a couple of weeks ago on the way to Dallas from Portland to visit my mother. It's a nice campground but I wish they kept the bathrooms open. Looking forward to your next video.
Thank so much. Yeah, it was kind of a bummer. There were two pit toilets near my site. The lock on the women's one was broken, so I used the men's and -- boy howdy -- it was unpleasant smelling in there - WHEW!
Happy Trails to you and sweet Gunther! I will be camping in Tennessee near Chattanooga while you are traveling by! 👋 Safe travels Enjoy your time with your Mom 🩷
Wow! Long trip this time... Sorry to hear about your stepdad, hope your mom is doing well. I was in Gallup last weekend, kinda chilly compared to the valley. Yeah, they are on Daylight time zone out there. I agree to keep your snax handy when driving long distance. G man was ready to pounce on that intruder! Stay safe out there.
Yes Navajo Nation does DST. Also interesting the Hopi (which is nested with the NN) does not. Its wild! It was that NM is on Mountain while (at the time) Arizona was basically aligned with Pacific. ANYWAY it worked to my advantage on the way home 😉
Would love to do something like this! Thanks for sharing. Also "Step 2". lol. in addition to having our Korean campers on TH-cam in common..I think we are watching the same Canadian guy I too. 😀😁
I own the original “Bad News Bears” that is such a great movie😂❤ I watched it with my grandson and he could not believe what they were allowed to say back then.😂 I watch it at least twice a year. I miss those days… close to 60 now.
It was actually A League of Their Own, but BNB is also a great one! I remember when I watched it as an adult and noted all the open container driving. LOL it's a miracle we survived the 70s & 80s 🤣
I showed up to story Lake one time after the gates closed. I ended up sleeping in the little parking lot in front of the Ranger station most expensive parking lot camping.
This is awesome. Planning to take my dog from Ontario canada to Colorado and Utah for 3 weeks next year in my 4runner. -side note: not sure if you’ve done it, but would love to see how you plan your trip including routes and finding campgrounds along the way.
Always enjoy your videos…may I ask who is the composer of your ‘theme song’? Your mum is fortunate to have your support. This is unsolicited advice for your mum but as a widow for one year now I am slowly learning how to be ‘a whole versus half of a whole’ if that makes any sense. One day at a time…positive thoughts to her (and you and Gunther too)

Martha thanks for sharing your entire brilliant set up ! I’m beginning a trek from Chicago to Sarasota with my 12 lb mini Dachshund, Daisy and can you or have you listed Gunther’s 4Runner seat & gear for his comfort & safety ? I checked your Amazon store…
Awww... Daisy! 😍 I have most of his stuff listed in the Storefront, under "Gunther's Gear." His seatbelt is currently unavailable, so I just added a similar one. His seat and harness are both from PetSmart. The seat is Top Paw. It's been OK, but swings and tilts and is starting to fail. Don't know how your plans are set. In Arkansas, I-40 just west of Forrest City (exit 241). Camping areas in back away from hwy noise. Might be a good rest area for you. Have fun.
Turns out, I didn't have nearly the cell reception that I thought I would, and there were times that I could not use Google Maps. I didn't end up using my atlas, but I was still glad I had it!
I'm so sorry to hear about your Mother's loss. I hope she told you that they passed a law in KY No sleeping in a vehicle anywhere in public for any reason 😢
I am so terribly sorry for you n your moms loss.😢 prayers for all. ARE YOU OK? I hope your mom will be ok. Thats a long way!! Im glad Mr G is with you. ❤ im not sure if in your place i would have brought "all of us" along on your personal journey. But thank you.
Thanks so much. It was a hectic and stressful time, but worthwhile of course. My mom also refers to now as her "new" life. Scary and sad at first, but as time passes, it feels more like a new chapter, full of possibility.
That is a huge question -- too big to sufficiently address in a comment. In short, its capacity (expressed in watt hours / wh ) depends on your expected energy demands. You have to tally up the wattage draw of all your devices and do some other math to figure out how big you need. You also have to consider how you're going to recharge it (household, solar, automotive). As for brands, I haven't tried enough to do a fair comparison, but there are other TH-camrs who have done side-by-side-by-side comparisons. I have a Bluetti, AllPowers, and EcoFlow. The Bluetti I have is too large for my typical needs. The AllPowers has been reliable, but the display is too small for my old eyes. I typically use my EcoFlow as it's easy to read and charges fast. But after two years of use, I can no longer re-charge it with household power, only 12v. So that's annoying. I would probably still re-buy it though.
I had to laugh when you heard your camp neighbors with an "amp". One of my pet peeves while camping is having to listen to other people's shitty loud music. Ugh. It's the worst. Solo camping can be very rewarding but can also be very frustrating when having to stay in developed camp grounds.
Despite all the early evenings shenanigans, I was pleasantly surprised that it was an absolutely peaceful and quiet evening! Or I was so exhausted I slept though any ruckus 😂
I'm sorry to hear about your stepdad. I caught a whiff of Styx on your early audio and thought you might appreciate this gem: th-cam.com/video/Xu2xVG_utRs/w-d-xo.html Take care of yourself.
