Just did this job a few months ago and figured I'd add my 2 cents. Make sure you transplant the clip that holds the rod for the keyhole to the new part. My keyfob just died and I found out the rod was out of place the one time I needed to use it.
My car alarm has been going off in the middle of the night and ive had to manually lock/unlock my door because of the old door lock actuator. Appreciate your video i followed it exactly and was able to fix all of my issues!
Man thank for this guy made this video I watched another one and it didn’t tell about that bracket in the door or the rods mine had two and one had a clip i couldn’t get to so I just unscrewed the lever and reused the old one
the cable to my door latch snapped and I am attempting to repair it versus replacing it, it snapped right where the cable meets the end part that goes into the hole
@@ekartpasame here. I was able to replace the cable and now it works great again! Unfortunately, the outside handle is now acting up, so I get to re-do that again tomorrow.
Thanks for the video, I have the same issue with driver door ajar and the same smart lock/alarm etc.. Do you happen to recall the part number for the Door Latch Assembly you purchased?
Could you tell us why you had to replace it in the first place, just out of curiosity? My door ajar light keeps flickering on and off while driving and I'm wondering if this replacement would fix the issue...
Just want to say thank you, I replaced mine today successfully and I left off that pesky bracket!
Super appreciate your efforts to make this guide. I just did this on my gen 2 passenger side door. Cheers

Thank you for this video, about to do this on the wife's Mazda 3.

I needed this so bad
Omfg I needed this video! The shop is charging me 165 for replacement. I will attempt to do it myself
$165 is actually a great deal. i got quoted $175 for the part and $456 total replacement. did you end up fixing it yourself?

Mine broke by the door handle latch. Feel your pain.

I need this to replace my door latch cable. looks doable. Do I have to remove the lock or can I reach in and replace it?

Because of the door ajar light constantly flickering and making my alarm go off
Life saver!
You didn't put the clips back on the new door lock actuator. I'm talking about the clips that hold the rods to the new door lock actuator.
I had one of the screws for the actuator stripped. How did you fix it and where did you get the new screw?
I used an extractor kit with an impact driver and I had extra screws from a crashed speed3
Thanks for your info. I really appreciate it!
I just used the manual impact drive to remove the stripped screw for the actuator. Thanks a lot!
Remove the 3 JIS Phillips screws with a flathead screwdriver (1:17)? Yeah, right! Why didn't you show it then?
