So this was the old one that you're showing? You replaced the whole assembly and the problem is resolved now? I have the same issue with my 2012 Mazda3's door ajar light going on and off while I'm driving...
Yes, it's the old one in the video. It's an expensive part to replace, and a pain to do. There a number of videos out there on replacing it that would be helpful to review if you are doing it yourself.
No, I didn't have that issue, though I dealt with the issue soon after it started. I am sure it could be a problem if the interior light stays on without you knowing it, especially in the daytime.
Thanks! I might try to fix my old lock. Maybe. Not really looking forward to replacing that thing again and finding out it does not work... Or maybe it does? Who knows 😂
Hi, I had the same problem on my 2012 Mazda 3 hatchback. I replaced the lock on the left front side of the car but I have another problem. It is not locking when I'm pressing the central lock. It is not locking when I'm walking away. I would have to press the button twice for it to lock. That's the only how the car will completely lock all the doors. What is your recommended fix? This was the new replaced actuator lock that's acting this way.
Same issue, after looking for a week I finally ran into something that can help. Did you change it for both doors or how did you figure out which one was the issue? The dim light near the pedals and sometimes the dash staying on. I think it might be the same issue what do you think?
I just did the drivers side. The other doors aren't used very much. Basically my dome light would come on, and warning symbol on the dash would come on randomly, or wouldn't go off after closing the drivers door.
I took mine apart with a heat gun and a razor blade. Cleaned the contacts without removing the board. Took a few hours but it's working now and I'll reply if it quits.
Thanks for sharing, here goes my Sunday 😂
I have repaired these on 2007 Mazda 3's when the door no longer locks with the FOB. You often see carbon tracking on the alarm/door light circuit.

And yes it fixed the problem.
@@lightuntomypath Thanks for the info!
Thank you for sharing this video. I am just curious, with your symptoms as you described, did you also find the battery drained as a result?

It could possibly be defective even though it was new. You could also check to make sure the electrical connections are making good contact.

Is there one of these per side or was this one that controls all the doors since the multiple cables?
for each door.
One cable for the latch to release the door, the other for the lock.
If I unplug the latch from the door will it stop the light from coming on?
Probably not, if it has no impute the computer might consider that the door is open. Also not sure if it would affect the power lock as well.
@@lightuntomypath what if I short it to ground?
why not just clean it from there wipe it down clean off the corosion and seal it back up make sure the contacts actually make contact metal on metal
That's a possibility. Let us know if it works.
