'25 reading intentions (and why I don't use reading goals anymore)

Happy 2025! Today we're chatting about reading goals, overconsumption in book content and starting the new year with a new mindset towards reading :)

I’ve been really reconsidering my reading goal for this year, I lost so much reading momentum in 2024 and slipped waaaay behind my reading goal, which made me feel so bad, especially because I got caught up with the reading “competition” I feel online with insanely high reading goals. I’ve set it much more realistic for 2025! I’m also going to consume more sustainably this year by only buying second-hand and going to libraries. Great video Molly (and great job with the sweater)!

this made me think about how arbitrary reading goals are lol 😭 it’s the same energy as the beginning of a school term being like “i’m gonna lock in so hard” also love the sweater! 🫶🏻
