RIP Paul. Was always a pleasure listening to him. When I first got into soccer (as an adult) I found this show and he was on the very first show and I found it an absolute delight hearing his thoughts and stories! His energy seems to be nothing be positive around any and all even of the screen
He bought a great spirit to the show, always a good laugh & analysis. I had to read the title twice, I couldn't believe it. I know Stevie is going thru it right now. R.I.P. Paul Mariner
Always enjoyed him so much on this show. His respect for the game and its players was tangible. Not looking for heat here, but for an English guy? Very keen and level headed takes on non-English football usually. RIP Paul, you were and will be missed.
Really likeable guy. For real for real. Condolences to his family and close mates. Could be the most likeable I've seen on here. A man with the perfect amount of person for everybody to appreciate. X
We still think about you every day paul. Favourite game of the season is always vs Ipswich because its Paul Mariner day. We all love you - from Plymouth Argyle 💚💚
Can we all just appreciate how well spoken Dan is? I dont know anything about Paul Mariner, but now I feel like someone from my football family passed away
Where is the original longer version of this? It was an emotional roller coaster but one that showed what a legend Paul was and what he meant to his mates. A great pity that its disappeared, gutted my Dad (like so many others I suspect) didn't get opportunity to watch it.
I began watching football in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Mariner was very silkfull player, part of the 1982 England team that did not lose a game at that WC..i feel sad today..never heard a bad word against him..
He had every right to be proud of his goal against Hungary that ensured England qualified for the 1982 World Cup. England made hard work of qualification (losing to Norway for example) but played really well in the finals. I get the impression Mariner didn't take himself too seriously.
Rip Paul mariner man even though I’d never met the man he gave us great moments on of my favorite shows and I am ever grateful for the moments of happiness he left us. Death is never easy, every life is worth something today a great soul was lost Rest In Peace.
I was just thinking a couple of months ago that I hadn't seen him in a while. I just attributed it to the virus messing with his schedule. Had no idea he was ill. Really loved him. RIP Mr. Mariner.
Had no idea until I got the push notification about the Revs honoring him today; I wasn't even aware he had cancer. My deepest condolences to his loved ones...
I loved Paul Mariner. I always remember him managing my club Plymouth Argyle he inherited a club in a right toxic state left by Paul Sturrock & unfortunately relegated us. But he was just such a likable & nice guy & it was shame it didn't work out.
As a Liverpool supporter , I'm so sad . wonderful footballer , if it wasn't for Bob Paisley Ipswich town were the best team . Ipswich Town great team . my condolences to Paul's family . wonderful team . RIP Paul
