The only things I can think of for hidden values are the 4 Earplug value for Switch Axe Zero Sum Discharge (ZSD), and the 2 Guard value for the Charge Blade's Charged Shield.
As a CB main, you should also note that the 2 Guard can exceed the normal 5 guard max you get from armor skills. Guard points also stack another 2 points of guard, so if you have 5 guard on your armor plus a charged shield AND you guard point, it is the equivalent of Guard 9.
I'd highly recommend, especially for newer players, to use normal Demon Drug instead. You only get 2 more raw attack from Mega Demon Drugs and they take a lot more materials to make.
If you have hundreds of them lying around, sure, but newer players, especially those that haven't arrived in master rank yet, won't have many, if any, steam tickets. And again, it only gives you 2 more attack over normal Demon Drugs, so unless you really need that 0.7% increase in damage you're better off spending your resources somewhere else. @@vahnayasaki6989
Another hidden value would be the damage multiplier for investigations (0.85, 0.9, 0.95, 1.0, 1.05, 1.10 and 1.15). I don't even know for myself, if it's random for the same type or tier of investigations or the same. You could test it e.g. with mega barrel bombs. With the hidden 1.0 multiplier they deal 150 damage. Another one would be the sweet spot multiplier/hitzone for blade-weapons (e.g. the middle of the blade for great sword) for i think 3% more damage (?).
Very well put together! I would like to clarify something that could be misunderstood by newer players though: Felyne Sharpshooter does increase damage for Normal Ammo on Bowguns, like you said. For Bow, however, it's not the arrows you fire without coatings that do more damage; it's the arrows you fire specifically by clicking R2 (PlayStation), RT (XBox), or left click (mouse and keyboard on PC). Damage from arrows fired using the Circle button (PS), B button (XB), or right click (PC) is not increased with Sharpshooter.
most important hidden value: how much HP monsters have (there is a randomness to it) and that multi-hunts have much lower hp on monsters! especially the second thing is something many players simply don't know!
Also note: The HP value is not related to monster size. And in World, the monster HP scales for 1P, 2P and >2P. Unlike rise, where the monster has also a 3P and 4P scale. Combined with the fact that you cant bring palicoes on a 3P quest (but still can on a 2P), this makes 3P hunts objectively the worst choice. IIRC, the 4P multiplcator in World is around 2.5-2.6 (don't remember the exact number), whereas Rise has a 3x multiplicator. Meaning, each individual player needs to do less damage compared to solo, on top of having it easier regarding aggro management.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but damage colors take HZV and Sharpness into account, while WEx only cares about HZV. Meaning hitting a 44 HZV part with a purple weapon will show orange damage numbers but won't trigger WEx.

What i'd like to know, is that for elemental builds, either melee or ranged, does the elemental damage value of full Safi armor outperform the DPS out of true critical element from something like Silver Los armor?

Noob question cuz I'm not at end game yet (fresh playthrough near beginning of Iceborne). You talk about crit element boost and stuff and how things stack.. Let's just take "Attack Up" and a simple elemtal attack... like Water Attack. Do both of these stack? Like will the raw portion of a water sword get increased from attack up, and the elemental portion of the water sword get increased from water attack? Based on what's in this video it makes me think only one of the two would apply... if so, which one? higher rank? higher overall dps? will elemental attack always just override the regular attack up (like 1 water attack will nullify all 7 attack up) etc?
Also i'm curious as for the health bar of monsters in the story quest do they have lower health pool? Cause they feel easier than when you hunt in optional quests or investigations
booster is +9 attack and +15 defense for the first 10 minutes of a quest, weakener gives you a better chance at getting a lower HP roll. each monster has like 5 potential HP amounts it can have, weakener makes it likely to be a lower one
This was really informative for me cause im new to the game. Also do poison weapons kill monsters faster than a weapon with high affinity or high damage with no affinity?
Theoretically, poison damage have an overall lesser damage output then straight up damage. Though this various a lot for the different weapons and different monsters you are using it on. The main benefit for poison is that once the ailment triggers, you are gonna have that damage be done pretty much no matter what. So if you are not able to put constant pressure on a monster poison might be worth it for that extra Damage over time. Before doing a hunt its always good to see if the monster has any weaknesses or resistances to poison to see if its worth using.
@@skulkywulky6882I think most can be inflicted with status (a few are immune to 1 or 2 statys). However, by MR I think the damage of a weapon with high raw+affinity outscales poison status (that + not all weapon types are effective at inflicting status to begin with).
Iirc at least for base world where there were a couple of Rathian weapons which were BIS over any pure Raw counterparts (SnS and LS specifically) on anything that wasn't poison immune, since as long as it triggered once the poison damage made up for the negligible decrease in raw damage over the course of a hunt.
glad to hear it helped! Typically poison is more of an additional damage, so you'll get 1-3 poisons per hunt, depending on how weak a monster is to it (1 star, 2 star, or 3 star). Poison doesn't directly boost your weapon's damage, rather, think of it as your weapon is applying poison to the monster, and eventually the monster gets poisoned and loses HP over time until the poison duration ends. at the beginning of Iceborne, before a lot of the endgame content we have today, the Gold Rathian weapons were the best raw weapons because they had a lot of things going at once: high raw, good sharpness, high affinity, AND they also could apply poison. hopefully this helped make a little more sense of it!
that's true! you have to take 180 damage or be in a quest for 5 minutes. it lasts for 2 minutes, and, once it deactivates, it will reactivate again after 5 minutes or 180 damage taken
To add to his answer as well, if you get far enough in Iceborne, you can unlock Latent Power Secret that triggers at 150 health starting from 6, and the wait time is 4 1/2 minutes.

Based on what's in this video it makes me think only one of the two would apply... if so, which one? higher rank? higher overall dps? will elemental attack always just override the regular attack up (like 1 water attack will nullify all 7 attack up) etc?
Yes you can have both and they do not overwrite each other.
yes, both work! they're considered separate because the Attack Boost skill works for raw attack and Elemental Attack up boosts your element :D
How about felyne booster and felyne weaken?
Also i'm curious as for the health bar of monsters in the story quest do they have lower health pool? Cause they feel easier than when you hunt in optional quests or investigations
booster is +9 attack and +15 defense for the first 10 minutes of a quest, weakener gives you a better chance at getting a lower HP roll. each monster has like 5 potential HP amounts it can have, weakener makes it likely to be a lower one
@@LordViettner wow, i didn’t know that. Thanks for the reply btw!
@@taarten7749 thanks for the info, i thought all monsters can be debuffed (like poisoned or paralysis)
Very informative video:)
Glad it was helpful!
Pls specify where is just world or Iceborne, very good content tho!
Huh...ayo bro ? 1:16
yeah dude it’s weird. they’re like some of the most popular recent mods… people got issues
The game also doesn't tell you how to activate Latent Power.
that's true! you have to take 180 damage or be in a quest for 5 minutes. it lasts for 2 minutes, and, once it deactivates, it will reactivate again after 5 minutes or 180 damage taken
To add to his answer as well, if you get far enough in Iceborne, you can unlock Latent Power Secret that triggers at 150 health starting from 6, and the wait time is 4 1/2 minutes.
I don't see a single reason why this would not be shown in game
they like to typically just give vague descriptions like "a big boost" or something instead of giving the actual numerical values xD
? thanks for this put in 300hrs in thr game and didn't know the pill is shit😅wasted tons of resources making it and the seed is much more useful 😮 and safi armor set is one of the best looking and useful armor set to use the kjerr weapons are RNG😂 only gotten 3 good weapons for elemental build 1 dual swords Ice 1 long sword ice and 1 insects glave fire
glad you learned something! too bad the pill doesn't last too long, really only useful for short speedruns xD
Another yiutuber saif the mega ones only last 20secs? So I've only used normal demon and armor.
whoever that is, they're wrong
might/armor pills only last 20 seconds
