Tying fly at the river and then not to tie it to the leader? Yes! That was the masterpiece of screenplay, especially with this cicada out of plastic bag 😂❤
Thanks for the nice comment! Well we have just started! Give us a year, and we will see if people like what we do. But comments like yours makes us keep going 💪
Great video guys. Nice editing and film captured on the dry fly takes. Very nice filming. Tough day on the river but still that beats a good day at work. Keep up the content as long as you are in New Zealand but even still when you head back to Norway ill keep a close eye on you filming content over in your homeland too. Great stuff 👊
Thanks a lot guys! We are so happy with the feedback from you all! I hope we can continue to show cool fishing content from wherever we are in the world! But first at least more 10 nz episodes to come!
Great video & some very nice fish guys. Yeah, unfortunatley the glare and cloudy conditions are not great for spotting fish. Love following you on your journey around our beautiful NZ / Aotearoa.
Thanks a lot! And it’s very true what you are saying. We talk a little bit about it in the next episode because there we fish more and film less. When we don’t focus so much on the filming we catch way more fish. Because you need to get the photographer in possition, light needs to be right, often even the photographer spook the fish. It’s just a much much longer process
@@slowrisemedia Probably a reason why so few produce content with such high quality. At the end it needs two, dedicated to the adventure. Not just focused on catching every possible fish but to tell a story instead.
@@kaidame3499 true! I have tried many times before and it’s difficult! You need someone who loves filming more than fishing, or someone who like seeing the partner fisherman/girl catch a fish as much as catching fish yourself. If not, the fishing will take over the adventure, which is also fair, because fishing is awesome 😅
You are both very good fisherman! Patient and careful. You take care of the fish you catch! Your casting is spot on. Your video editing of the action is excellent!!! I look forward to the next episode. Dave
It warms our hearts to read these comments. Thanks a lot! We do what we love and have a lot of fun doing it! Field editing is rough cut sometimes, but I’m glad it is sufficient! Thanks for the comment! Next one coming soon
great filming and editing you guys! just beautiful shots of fly takes. I will be jumping the ditch from Australia in 10 days, 4 hours and 37 minutes (who's counting), and your vids have me frothing at the mouth to get over there. can't wait to get to Queenstown streams south. thank you for your vids.
Thanks a lot for the comment! Then you are in the exact same situation I was in one year ago watching the same type of videos from here! I hope you get an awesome time and that the weather has stabilised 🙌
@@slowrisemediathank you. Been 5 years since I fished NZ and can’t wait to get back. Safe travels. If you get to Australia and are interested in catching 8 lb Aussie salmon ( Kahwai) on fly in knee deep water, casting to schools of 1000s, that happened here in May. It’s great fun!
I think the reason for not hooking the fish in minute 20 was the "NZ'd rig" - the fish had the fly in his mouth but the short piece of leader heading to the nymph prevented a proper hookup. Same thing happend to me also a couple of times in NZ'd until I changed to single dry flies. Good work nevertheless - tight lines!
Haven’t really thought about that! But I can imagine that being true! We try to use single dries as much as possible to avoid snags and stuff while fighting, but here you bring up another good point! Thanks a lot for sharing that interesting thought/experience
Absolutely love all your videos. Beautiful work!! I get so excited when I see a new one out
Thanks a lot! Comments like yours makes it all worth it!

Great videography. Never get tired of watching big fish sipping tiny flies 😊
We never get tired of that either! One of the most beautiful things in the world
Good job! You two have a lot of fun together and show a lot of skill too. A wonderful joy to watch!
Thanks a lot! Haha, yeah we have some really cool days here in nz! Thanks a lot!
Rapidly becoming my favorite fishing channel!
The bird sings and you interpret with words to encourage the fish to return with lyrics of love.
Haha, Yeah amazing! And it kind of worked!

Such a nice collection of shots. So pristine waters. Appears to me like catching those fish two times. Once with the fly and once with the lens 🙏

Another very entertaining video. Thanks you two!
Thanks a lot! And you are welcome!
Kjempekult å følge dere. Veldig bra innhold dere lager fra down under. Gleder meg til mer :)
Tusen takk! Det er så hyggelig å høre, og inspirerer til å fortsette!

Hey awesome video! Shared with my mates. What camera and lens set up do you use?
Hey! Thanks a lot! We appreciate that! It’s a lumix gh6 camera with a lumix g-vario 100-300mm lens for the close up shots!
Love it! Nice work :)
Thanks a lot!

Guys voice is something else
Motiverende videoer altså. Ny sub her . Må få meg en tur opp til Østerdalen ASAP i mangel av en tur til NZ
Great video, what river were you on please?
how much longer will you be in New Zealand for. love the effort you put into filming the eats, so cool keep up the good work.
Until 25th of march so we have some time left! But we will keep making these films as we get home to Norway. Pike, salmon and more trout
What are the sources of the rig? Size, weight etc?
You mean the rod, reel, leader, tippet and so? We can have a session where we go through that on one of the next episodes! The rod is a 5wt and a 6wt
Interesting that the trout missed the fly but then he just lifted and connected.
The first clip you mean? There is a dropper under the dry that the trout is eating
Gratulation
Thank you!
Nydelige filmer. Får bare sånn passe lyst til å dra til NZ selv.
Tusen takk! Ja, det er et sjukt opplegg her nede
🥰

Haha, yeah!
