I just averaged out all of the episodes, because I have no life, to give the arcs a numerical score according do your scores: Battle of Gods Arc: 4.57 Golden Freeza Arc: 5.15 Universe 6 Arc: 6.07 Copy Vegeta Saga/Filler: 6 Goku Black Arc: 6.95 Filler: 6.55 Universal Tournament Arc: 6.13 And to average every episode out, to make the score you think most fits super is: 5.96 or a 6 if you round it out. Yeah, Super can be a bit of a mixed bag so I'm not surprised it averages out to a 6.
Sounds about right, Super had great and even godlike moments (at the end), but overall was a lot of wasted potential. And I hate to bring GT into this but, at least Super tried different things, GT was simply more Z, but really boring.
When you absolute value the episode ratings, the universe survival arc goes to 6.53. I did that since he said that the closer the rating is to zero, the worse it is, meaning that the magnitude of the rating is more representative of the true value of the episodes.
Two things I knew for certain 1. Episode 24 would be on the *worst* list. It is garbage (or how TNM put it, *explosive diarrhea* ) 2. Episode 131 would be on the *best* list. It can cure diseases.
You know... 131, that moment, when Jiren roars, and the music sets in... AND GOKU AND FREEZA FIGHTS JIREN TOGETHER! I almost screamed at that moment. The concept of two bitter enemies fighting together like that is so incredible, then working together just like only they can... and that ending charge... HOLY SHIT... best, fight... EVER!
The fight was overrated and made barley any sense. Best fight for newbie dragon ball fans who's never watched Z or db. Or people who are entirely held prisoner of the moment. 131 overrated. And is the WORST ENDING to an series in HISTORY. Worst then db and Z, dosent even hold an CANDLE to the greatest ending to a dragon ball show which was last episode of GT. The supers ending had a: Predictable ending Rushed ending No dynamic story telling that can make you come back 2 decades later (EHEM GT ENDING) and appcriate it. No consequence of anything and overall was mediocre. Super last episode was a 70/100 to me. GT last episode was an 100/100.
How can you claim that supers ending was predictable. NOBODY knew who would be standing in the end, Nobody actually knew how Jiren would be beat. You knew that Goku and his friends would win, we all know that. That is the concept of all dragonball. But you didn't expect 17. You didn't expect Freeza and Goku working together. You are just being an ass.

When you were about to give your "Audio review" of episode #24 I was legit telling myself out loud "I am not going to laugh at a recording of diarrhea, I am not going to laugh at a recording of diarrhea..." And I still fucking laughed, even seeing it coming.
Oh wow, I had all kinds of qualms with the last one of these, but this one? I'm *so* on board with everything you said here! I think if there's any disagreement I have it's that you're *TOO* positive about some of the episodes and let me just say that's a REFRESHING way to feel. So many people are so overly negative about Super, I love seeing someone so positive about so much of it. I couldn't have said it better about disappointments like Piccolo, Gohan and Tien's treatment too.

He even estabilished a rule last chap (which I havent read yet) that saiyans may explode in legendary super saiyan form when they accumulate too much ki, or something like that. HystericalDark His changes to make our different from the Anime, and though it does help with some changes, most changes hurts the Msnga. In the Goku Black Manga, his changes did help he time travel, though he did cause more troubles. The ToP Manga, the changes doesn't help, but it hurts it more. Kale took out 4 Universes in the first part of the recent chapters as well as fight God Blue Goku and Golden Frieza
ToP Manga was ironicaly better before the tournament itself, shit leading up to it like Vegeta fighting Beerus, the GoD battle royale, Goku vs Top, those were cool and honestly did better than the anime, but then the tournament itself started, while we got cool moments like Frost eliminating universe 9 (Arguably wasted potential, but getting rid of fodder can be interesting if others have their potential used well), but the quality gradualy dropped, chapter 40 somehow turned out to be even worse than 39, and 39 was worse than 38... Toyotaro is way too much of a hit or miss writter, and lately he's just "miss".

Episode 131 has to be one of the most iconic episodes. Seeing Frieza and Goku work together like that, although they’re like sworn enemies, was beautiful.

What I'm hoping for in the next series, more than anything, is one arc centred on Gohan and Piccolo, whatever happens (Evil Namekian/Cell's return/Human's from another universe) I just hope there is something that forces these two to push their boundaries.
That's basically every episode of DBZ. It's not about them getting stronger, it's about how they become stronger. Sometimes it's stupid and bland (e.g. Goten, Kid Trunks, Caulifla) but sometimes it's awesome (e.g. Gokus first Transformation etc.).
well at least in dragon ball we got the watch some of the training that made then stronger and it was worth it.. here, even the training is just more poorly animated fights, or its not shown at all...

Ok.... I agree with you with most of these, but I strongly disagree with Episode 121. But opinions will always be different. Also, I believe the MVP 17 was the best character in this Arc, my good sir! Frieza was a close second.

I’m finna get REAL unpopular in for minute: I LIKED the universe 2 girls before they transformed. Their designs were simple but eye catching, with strange yet drawing use of color. I was also excited to see female characters with more traditional character designs actually do well in combat scenarios (not necessarily a rare thing nowadays but the last one we saw in DBZ was Android 18, who is absolutely captivating in her character and dynamics in the Android Saga). However, their original designs, intrigue, and my excitement for them were lost then they transformed into the magical girl/broken records the Internet knows and hates today.
The DBS manga's take on the Tourney of Power has pretty much thrown Krillin, Tien, Piccolo and 95% of the other contestants in the trash bin like they're nothing. Not a single fuck is given...at least the anime tried.

Ribrianne and U2’s characters where fine and many fans I have meet did greatly enjoyed them! It all came down to a fans personal preference in what they like in characters and some fans did not like them but others like me and others Loved Ribrianne and U2 for who they where. Just fans that did not like them just did not stop complaining and took it too far sadly and was not needed. Enjoyed all the screen time Ribrianne and U2 had, they had good character development, so with respects to TOTALLY NOT MARK, but Ribrianne was for me and others one of the best parts of Super and one of our(for me she was #1) Favorites! 👍💗
Michael O'Sullivan I understand your appreciation for her, but she doesn't fit the Dragon Ball/Z/Super theme. The action AND comedy were both thrown away for her. She felt like a main character for a completely different anime, which made her episodes feel like fillers. She just wasn't something I wanted from Dragon Ball.

What I'm hoping for in the next series, more than anything, is one arc centred on Gohan and Piccolo, whatever happens (Evil Namekian/Cell's return/Human's from another universe) I just hope there is something that forces these two to push their boundaries.

That's basically every episode of DBZ. It's not about them getting stronger, it's about how they become stronger. Sometimes it's stupid and bland (e.g. Goten, Kid Trunks, Caulifla) but sometimes it's awesome (e.g. Gokus first Transformation etc.).
well at least in dragon ball we got the watch some of the training that made then stronger and it was worth it.. here, even the training is just more poorly animated fights, or its not shown at all...

Super had the best ending out of all the Dragon Ball series
NieOrginalny I'd say the OG Dragon Ball ending and Supers ending are tied but it's much better than Z and DEFINETLY better than GT
@@theboy2385 the GT ending was anticlimactic as hell goku leaves his friends and family for good and the dragon balls can no longer be use anymore.

I’m finna get REAL unpopular in for minute:
I LIKED the universe 2 girls before they transformed. Their designs were simple but eye catching, with strange yet drawing use of color. I was also excited to see female characters with more traditional character designs actually do well in combat scenarios (not necessarily a rare thing nowadays but the last one we saw in DBZ was Android 18, who is absolutely captivating in her character and dynamics in the Android Saga). However, their original designs, intrigue, and my excitement for them were lost then they transformed into the magical girl/broken records the Internet knows and hates today.
If it weren't for the short fight I think we'd all have wanted to see Vegito vs Zamasu in the top 5 best list

The DBS manga's take on the Tourney of Power has pretty much thrown Krillin, Tien, Piccolo and 95% of the other contestants in the trash bin like they're nothing. Not a single fuck is given...at least the anime tried.

I genuinely don't get the Ribrianne and co hate. theyr'e fine. Bit of a giggle, magical girl. Fine.
I would have been fine with her if they just used her for like 2 episodes but they went waaaaaaaay to far with Ribrianne. They beat that horse for like an hour after it died.
Ribrianne and U2’s characters where fine and many fans I have meet did greatly enjoyed them! It all came down to a fans personal preference in what they like in characters and some fans did not like them but others like me and others Loved Ribrianne and U2 for who they where. Just fans that did not like them just did not stop complaining and took it too far sadly and was not needed.
Enjoyed all the screen time Ribrianne and U2 had, they had good character development, so with respects to TOTALLY NOT MARK, but Ribrianne was for me and others one of the best parts of Super and one of our(for me she was #1) Favorites! 👍💗
Michael O'Sullivan I understand your appreciation for her, but she doesn't fit the Dragon Ball/Z/Super theme. The action AND comedy were both thrown away for her. She felt like a main character for a completely different anime, which made her episodes feel like fillers. She just wasn't something I wanted from Dragon Ball.
